Has anyone done a 6 inch bds lift kit? Planning on installing this kit on a 1987 ford bronco xlt . Let me know how it rides and how you installed it, problems tips etc
Looks exactly like my 93 eddie bauer, same color too. Twins. I was able to fit 35" mud hawgs with 2"coil spacers and took my bumper off which I'm thinking of trimming. Thanks for the vid
@@MusicalWeasel trust me man i get it, i got a 1990 as a project and its been a ton of work so far. Ive got the drivers side axle pulled right now waiting on a replacement to get shipped to me, but hopefully she'll be road worthy this summer
It takes a while for new coil springs to settle, you will lose some height. It will also change some after an alignment. I install adjustable alignment bushings on the upper ball joint while I'm under there to save time at the alignment shop. Also, long radius arms are worth the money if you can swing it in the future.
Maybe I got through to them. Around the time that I posted this video I blew up their email about the issue. It's dumb for them to ship a kit that isn't correct. If they actually fixed it that's great. I had my doubts that they would even bother.
On the whole height thing you got to think the Bronco doesn't have a front bumper on it and the Ford F-150 has a heavy bumper on it when I put a bumper on my truck it lowered mine an inch
I doubt you’ll see this seeing’s how it’s been years, but I was curious if your front springs flexed forwards a little bit when in and if you have any problems with putting the front shock in with the 6 inch? Currently putting my lift on now and the springs rub the front quad shock
Did you take the sway bar off? My shocks do not rub but I didn't put both in. I don't remember if I have the front of back one in but I'm sure this video shows. Lmk if u need more help. Message me on Instagram.
@@Bearbait01 shoulda stuk a d44 in the front,those ttb,s are garbage. plus,it would drive a hell of a lot better, i was sick of getting w/aligns every time i went out. you dont get any more travel with the lift,just looks. no,ifs is any good..for 4x4ing...being a yank,you should know ford had a class acion against them for this ttb,,killing people..
Rough Country has sold thousands of these kits, and they all fit without drilling. The passenger pivot bracket is a weldment, and when removed from the welding jig, springs open slightly. Use a large C clamp,, alignment bar to get all the bolts in.. if you resort to drilling, you have created yourself a safety concern, in that the bolts dont fit the bracket, and or the crossmember holes. It thats the case you need to drill larger holes, to fit larger bolts, done one at a time, and installed before the next one
If that was the case then the instuctions would have said that. Rough country customer support would have told me that over the phone. They didn't. They have no clue how their kits work.
@@Bearbait01 Rough Country likely assumes that if you spend the money on the kit, you have a reasonable mechanical skill level to think the install through. I dont see anywhere in the instructions say you may have to align holes by drilling out. If you are happy that the brackets may loosen up due to sloppy holes, then have at it 😣

You seem to be Bitching and Complaining, your words, not mine, that the Pivot brackets, don,t line up perfectly, but using your limited experience you just clamped down on the bracket and it went in. Anyways, my comments were not holy directed at you, but others who have needlessly drilled the brackets, at the cost of it being possible too loosen up. My logic is based on 40 years of being a licenced mechanic .
Spray Paint with raptor liner, all black. Don’t have to wash it just rinse, it will look bad ass too. I didn’t to mine👍🏾 400 bucks need two kits, do it outside 😎 easy .
What are your measurements to the bottom of the fender? I have a f150 we did the 6 inch rough country and we did the add a leaf in the back that it came with them kept the factory blocks as well then the front was normal installation and height. I'm sitting 40 and a quarter in the front and 43 in the back. Is that cause the rough add a leaf it came with?

It rides perfectly fine
No issues other then standard suspension issues

They fixed the bracket issue i think, i just lifted my 89 bronco and the bracket worked great!

Go get a ball joint press. Squeeze the two halves together about 1/4 inch and they should line up. That's what I did. Not perfect but it works.

Curious did you use RC leaf springs or bronco graveyard?
Everything is rough country. Lots of parts from Bronco Graveyard but as far as the lift goes, all RC.
Did you have to get new brake lines?? Front and rear?
I did but I didn't have to. You can use all stock lines except for the 2 front brake hoses. Those need to be extended. They're cheap and worth it.
Did you have a lot of trouble to get it aligned correctly??
It took 4 of us to get it all in place up front.
