Not great to be having another different subscription, but I'll do it just for the show. Quick question though, does it come in the entertainment only package? I ask because it mentions no Motorsport and I don't know how they categorised it
I think it is absolutely wonderful what Hammond is doing here! Keeping it relatable. He's swiftly turning into the most likeable person on the planet. The excitement is real and everyone who loves classic cars feels the same. The Manta... geez, they were a movement in Germany (two big and awful but funny feature films about them). Much success with this effort! This is brilliant! Keeping those historical cars alive is just very important. Glad he is doing this! I salute you, Sir!
It was a real honour having you all on our stand with the MG! All the very best with the MGB Richard, which we are more than happy to support and help promote for you!
I spoke to Richard on this day at the NEC back in March... He was ace. As a fellow classic car enthusiast it was refreshing to see him so genuinely excited about his current field.
@@Thisath100 I don't think it's always that long. These videos are being released alongside season 2 of Hammond's Workshop, which is airing now - that's why they're so delayed.
Not so much a classic yet. But realising how old the Evo 10 is now (I still remember it being new) makes me feel old, same with the R35. Can't forget the FG Falcon for Australia and New Zealand. All three are over a decade old, heck. The Evo is practically old enough to have a learners license.
I approve of this. It's a great idea. I hope it works!~ P.S. Get Jeremy and May to appear once in a while too! P.S.S. Maybe get the old Stig to do a race for you too? Might be fun!
Opinions and all that but personally I'd like to see those three kept away from this and this more honest, likeable version of Richard. The other two are far too sardonic, bitter, cheerfully miserable and now quite annoying. No thanks.
You know Richard, the thing that keeps coming to mind again and again is, between you, and your fellow Grand Tour presenters, YOU are the only one who has put his money where mouth is. Celebrating CARS! Well done and I hope all goes spectacular! Cheers!
I love this real version of Richard Hammond. On the tele I guessed he was trying a bit hard to be funny or whatever but just seeing him like this is so nice.
Love the fact you had a mantra and it got a shout out I’m 32 and it was my childhood car when I was born to about 8 years old lots of great memories and brake downs many fuel lines would love to get one for my old man again he had the top one I think it’s a gte if I remember right.
give it a black bonnet and it will be my late dads car, i was brought back from hospital on the back shelf and I always think of him when I see one. its on my bucket list to own and recreate that car so look after it and I will live vicariously through your adventures with it. loving your work Rich and the team.
Need more smallest cog seasons please give them more seasons love the vibes it's therapeutic 😌 🙌. I can't get that therapeutic vibe with electrical cars
You can tell Richard’s made it when he has 2 henchmen following him everywhere. Either that or they are scared he’ll break something (he has a rep for that). 😂
My 19 year old daughter just told me she is watching the old top gear. She remembers being a kid and us watching! And she's faster then me now karting! Thanks for the memories
Hammond is in absolute heaven with all this. Seeing all those great classics from a lot of different manufacturers of the world. He's never played the Playstation's most popular game Gran Turismo. Cause there are many other rare classics he's never seen before. Something like the Abarth 1500 Bapisto from 1952.
Antique MGs will always have a special place in my heart. I learned to drive on my father's 76 MGB. Wasn't anything fancy but it was a fun car to take out and go for a drive with the top down in Hawaii
Can’t wait to watch you step by step decide what to do and make a real race car. Make sure we get to see all the engineering and mechanicy stuff. Great idea Richard.
I have to say that I've owned many of the cars Richard spoke about and All of them evoke fond memories including several Hillman GT Hunters, Morris Mini's and Austin 1800's along with classic 144 volvos, 122's, SAAB's etc Love or hate them they drove me to work and now the buggers are classics.
That "buyer's guide" was one of the most clever ideas I've ever seen. I've seen plenty of online write-ups on certain forums and the like, but a visual representation is just incredible
This was such a brilliant video, credits to the guys filming and editing it was really enjoyable to watch, and its such a pleasure to have Richard Hammond such a part of the car culture we have, not only in this country but around the world. Knowing he is amongst the shoulders of the truest of enthusiats, appreciating all sorts of cars, that you can literally bump into him at events like this is just such a wonderful thing, for him and us.
I loved that Top Gear Episode, that MG is such a cute little car, Jeremy’s fiat was fiery and Italian, James’s Peugeot was a French beauty. Even though it was the very last Top Gear episode, it’s sort of sad and sweet at the same time.
2:51 Super celebrity Richard Hammond goes for a stroll with his personal security detail, the keep the riff-raff at bay! It looks so odd to see Hammond with security, you never see them like that anywhere. I get why they're there, don't get me wrong, just a little weird.
I love classic cars, I remember my dad restoring an old mk1 Cortina and a Rieley 1500, the Riley looked lovely with the black paint chrome trim and red interior. My little home garage has an mk2 Focus ST225 and a 20-year-old VW Bora that I'm currently restoring, I'm looking forward to getting the ST on the road for that 5-cylinder engine note. I totally agree with Richard saying we need to keep the classics alive, it would be a real shame just to let them rust away and vanish.
You know you've had a long automotive journalist career when some of the cars you reviewed when new are now considered classics. Have to agree with Hammond, the P1800 is a "gorgeous thing."
I am not really a car person. But this is one car show I would have loved to go to. All my childhood cars were there. I missed out on the Hillman Imp and Hillman hunter though...
2:55 Hammond looks like he being stalked by the security guys (insert JAW's theme here) lol (yes, i realize they were working crowd,so they could film, you know they always there, you just don't see them usually, lol)
Hammond had a Manta... now I can't stop imagining him with a mullet, jeans jacket and leather boots. Here in germany, the Manta was the ultimate meme car.
These videos are basically the only time I'll willingly and happily sit through what essentially is a 10 minute long advertisement. Love these peaks behinds the scenes, and doubly joyous seeing all those fantastic (and awful!) cars! 😅
That green mini with white stripes looks like MOOG's car from Mighty Car Mods. IMO if DT and MCM got together that'd be one of the ultimate car specials.

I would like to walk with Richard walking around cars and talking.

Love Hammond’s appreciation for the Saabs. Those are awesome and quirky cars
that red 900 turbo is a beauty
I gasped when I saw them. Pristine.
The old ones often rolled over in rallyes without much damage and kept driving, it's no surprise Hammond is drawn to them.

Richard, I know the feeling. As a petrolhead you realize how old you are by seeing the cars of your youth becoming 'classics'.

No love for IKEA ?
@douglasgreen437 Well, IKEA doesn't make cars. So it doesn't really apply to the video.
No better way for car businesses to get the word out there than with a racing team. Love it
Loving the way Hammond's two 'minders' amble along as if they're actually interested in the displays ... 😀

His child like Wonder at the beauty of automobiles fills me with a sense of happiness that is far too rare these days.
Props to the editor, great film
I think Hammond was advertising his security company as they were hardly out of the shot!
I guess that one security guy in the suit was following hammond to make sure he didn't crash anything there.
There were 2 of them 😜
