Bottom draining waste oil is a little difficult than sucking from the oil dipstick tube. But it can empty out most of the waste oil. The M276 Engine requires 6.5 liters (6.9 quarts) oil. The bottom draining is the only way to fill 6.5 liters of new oil.

Which Torque Specs did you use for tightening the oil filter housing cap and oil pan drain plug?

@@LeighSr my housing suggested 25Nm + 5 Nm, confused to what they really mean by that? I ended up torque set to 27Nm

I did my oil change today 2013 W212 276.952 and the oil is at the bottom of the dip stick. I filled it up 6.5qt 🤷🏾♂️
6.5 liters is the standard capacity of the engine oil.

Thanks for the details on jacking the car. I bought an extraction pump and recently did my oil change, it took me 20mins to do all the job and not a drop of oil spilled. I would recommend trying it
Thank you for your recommendation. And yes, I used to using the extraction pump to suck out the oil, but I never replace the recommended volume of oil (8.5 litter) by maintenance booklet. That's why I have given up the extraction pump for changing oil. For draining out I can pour in 8.5 litters volume of fresh oil.
Sorry, my bad. 8.5 liters for M278, 6.5 liters for M276.
Senior Leigh yeah you don’t get all but most. I have an slk with the m272 with max capacity of 8 lt, I extracted 7 lt, but got the level right in between min and max.
Also since it’s too easy to do I’ll do it every 5K miles.

我读论坛有人说m276冷车正时链条会响，有个人说用10w 40就没有响声？
M276是一台没什么缺陷的引擎，我没有发现这个问题，可能我住在南加州，冬天不太冷。只是自吸发动机，没有涡轮增压的爆发力强，相对于我的另一台M278。但高速的提速不错。

Why not use the vacuum method to suck the old oil out of the dip stick tube? That’s 10X faster and cleaner than the convention method of raising the car and letting gravity do the job!

There are two ways to discharge the used oil, extraction, or drain. In the Mercedes-Benz maintenance manual (WIS): For the M278 engine, the used oil is discharged by the extracting unit, in order to improve the work efficiency of the workshop. For the AMG engine M157, the same structure as M278 is required to drain the oil from the oil pan. After comparing the two methods, there can be filled with 8.5 liters of new engine oil as required by the booklet with drain used oil. For extraction of used oil, only 7.5 liters of new engine oil can be filled. I think this is why the M157 engine requires drain used oil from the oil pan. I chose to drain the used oil, even though it will take a little longer.

I had the W210 1998 E320, V6. It was 2 spark plugs per cylinder so I had to get 12 plugs! My mechanic bought it off me 12 years ago. Still running fine!

您好，我的车是m276.957的发动机，之前在benz保养receipt写的都是加的6.5升机油，但是网络上论坛好多人说他们自己换机油加了7.5升还没到max的位置，而且我前两天换了家私人车行保养，用的我自己买的机油，也是加了7.5升机油进去，不过我热车看机油位置高出了max一些。请问根据您的经验，m276系列发动机实际加了多少机油才到max啊？952和957应该差别不大。
奔驰的WIS里写的机油量是6.5升，大约6.9 quarts，如果加了7.5升，就加多了，就像您说的已经超过Max了。这时候，发动机会通过曲轴箱通风管自动排油出来，到集油盒里，集油盒满了就会从一些缝隙里流出来，但会加重节气门的污染。建议还是把多余的机油抽出来。集油盒的位置和拆卸方法请见我的”清洗节气门体“的视频。ua-cam.com/video/6wIcnZGo0I4/v-deo.html

在冷车熄火的状态下，加入6升机油，大约是在Max的位置，着车待水温达到80°C的时候，是在Min的位置，此时再加入0.5升机油，大约是在中间的位置，这就是合适的机油量6.5升。我曾经也加入过7.5升机油，结果第二天机油从集油盒上面的缝隙中流出来了，车库地上发现机油，才意识到加多了，赶快抽出来多余的机油，才有现在的经验。Min和Max之间的差异，是1.1升机油。

@@LeighSr 谢谢！我的车是2012年的C350 Coupe，然后我是热车到正常水温80到100之间，然后熄火等待五分钟测量的机油位置 （用户手册推荐的方法），然后测出来是高于MAX大概一厘米左右，就是机油位置还在红色塑料部分，上端红色凸起的中间的样子。但是这两天开起来没有任何异常，跑高速然后加速都很好，也没有看到有机油漏到地上。刚才去了一趟车行他们说高出MAX一厘米完全没有关系，说不用放油出来。我也不清楚到底多少机油合适，之前奔驰中心保养记录写的6.5升收费，实际加了多少我也不知道，这次是自己买的机油有刻度才看得到加了多少。而且论坛里同样的发动机有的也是说需要加比说明书手册更多的机油，搞不懂。
