I’m disappointed that my fellow country man Mutombo didn’t give the real origin of the finger wag. Back in the day when doing any type of sports or competition back in our country land, to trash talk your opponent when you made a defensive stop when trying to get dribbled on in football or something similar in another sport or competition, you would say “Eloko te, toza awa” meaning from lingala “You ain’t got (doing) nothing, and we’re right here (we ain’t going nowhere)”. Remark in the beginning in Denver after he did the no, no, no part of the finger wag, there was a “toza awa” part pointing to the ground.
