I think Southern will have a vicious upper brass section this season in 2024. The upper brass in 2023 had a lt of potential and seemed like a lot of crabs. Some games they were there and some they seemed to be laid back..But I'f i'm correct, they may be a beast in 2024.
This was a good battle. SU is a good bit bigger than Alcorn. Alcorn was sending some watts back, matched their energy, and arrangements were just as interesting Good battle from both bands. Ill give it SU, but Alcorn didnt really lose if that makes sense. Good stuff. One of the best zeros ive heard this season overall

If I recall correctly, next week was the original scheduled week of BoomBox before Coach Prime decided to kill Jackson State playing in the Southern Heritage Classic game against Tennessee State, and the SWAC brass rescheduled Southern-JSU to replace that game that week.

I thought SU won until the 5th when I got on the field between them. Alcorn brought some heat with the few horns they got amd were just as loud. SU brougjt 30 tubas and only bout 13 pf them playin cause the right side was non existent. I give this battle a tie cause SU louder but Alcorn was way more crunk. The song choice for both bands was terrible too.
Taylor need to chop the d section back down to its original 8 z’s, 8 snares, 4 t drums & 4 bass (to avoid the cluttered sound). It’s absolutely no need for all that percussion bruh. Doc already put the formula out, so follow tradition. Next, loosen them new drum heads (especially t drums) for that original “deep” juke sound.
