I mean, we all do know the classic line of HotS Kerrigan: "Noooooooo, Wings of Liberty Fungal Growths. He's chaining them!" - it truly is the heart of Kerrigans emotional ark I feel.
HotS Campaign has the most broken fungal. 60 dmg vs everything, still hitscan, and your infestors can vore each other for free energy then get patched up by queens or Mend to keep doing it all day and night.
The entire duration of the mission I wanted Grant to make some queens to heal them. :D But he never made any and watching him _start_ attacks on bases with 20% hp mutas was painful. Turned out fine though.
26:50 LOL standing for Little Old Lady may come from Core rope memory (see wikipedia). 7:34 Okay, now I'm imagining a Queen wearing a tutu. Thank you for that image in my head, Grant. Big Queen energy really crushed the Protoss air units here really fast. Queens are just that great of a unit as a whole. 150hp combined with +2 armor makes them very tanky compared to most other units.
Their main flaw imo is how huge they are, not good for damage density, oh also how slow they are out of creep. The only two bad things about them, everything is awesome
The verb version of "reconnaissance" is "to reconnoiter". Now you, too, can live with the shame that you'll never say it correctly because "reconnoiter" just isn't a word you want to use in a sentence ever.

Oh that fungal on the mutas was that much funnier to me, because I've played through the C&C edition mod recently. Fungal made me upset so many times in that one lol.
I see the first mission as the Zerg fighting off the protoss so they can infest the terrans unhindered. I feel that this interpretation might also carry Grant's approval.
@@CRSB00 Ghost voicelines always make the best coincidental reactions and banters in Grant's videos, hands down. And Kerrigan used to be the best ghost around😅

I love the idea that Kerrigan might have time traveled to undo her wrongs by taking Jim's place. Only possible explanation in my mind for how she's in the Terran campaign lol
Except not really. The only time she really lost was in WoL, while Jinara was constantly losing Motherships, roughly one every time she shows up. Even this video is a good evidence of that where Jinara's so bad with Taldarim Motherships that she cursed Nyon into making the mission known for bad Mothership fight even worse.
TBF about the swarm host, that does spawn air locst vs things that can only hit ground, so the only thing that can be hit is the swarm hosts, thus they die, granted i think they have a bit too low hp. if it was regular ground locusts, then the swarm hosts wouldnt take as much damge, and in return the push wouldn't be as fast since the enemy would be killing the locusts a bunch (provided no pathing issue from them not being burrowed)
Praying that Grant continues his excellent creep spread from the last episode. As you know, creep gives map vision and increases move speed for your units. Queens can place down creep tumors that you can move in order to cause the creep to cover more of the map. Last episode Grant tended to hsve a lot of queen which he used very effectively to place creep tumors and Im excited to see that trend continue here!
For people who do not realize how broken reconstitution is, here are the numbers. 10 lings every 30 seconds, for 20 per minute, aka 500 minerals per minute. This is 10 larva per minute, or 2.5 hatchery minutes. Mining is about 11 drones on 5 patches infinitely. Over the course of a 20ish minute mission, you can easily get an extra 6000 minerals from around 1500-2000 spent if you throw them into battle immediately and never stop production. Mission 2. Gas island. Grant, how were you going to pick it up? Is island. Overlords do not have load yet. Hatchery didn't have research. You gonna land your mutas like vikings?
The issue isn't Reconstitution, or even the zergling itself, but rather how like a good third of the HotS enemy loadouts is specifically dedicated to making zergling lives as short and miserable as possible.
17:15 Nice flock of Mutas you got there, but ain't there a- nevermind, there's the Fungal. 17:30 If those Mutas were instead Zerglings, I wouldn't doubt that you would've taken the base in one go. 27:17 A subspecies of boomer. 45:48 I don't know who said it, but 'Brain-dead S-tier' really does describe Swarm Host very well. I love using multiple groups of Hosts and stagger their burrow, so they keep pummelling the enemy. 51:58 Oh my. 54:03 The memes will show the way. 55:04 At least it's to the point. Being called an 'aesthetically-challenged individual' sounds like it would hurt more.
1:00:54 From what i saw, it wasn't the swarmhost that were bad, it was the locust that sucked 😅 since they flaw they ignored the zealots and immortals that were attacking the hosts and prioritized attackin units that could attack flying units. So the zealots and immortals were free to massacre the hosts
IMO they're still bad because they're hard to control: gotta root to attack, uproot to move to safety, aggro range isn't the actual attack range so attacking manually is necessary, hosts are fat and don't actually burrow so moving them is hard, spawn delay and aggro range together means they have really short range when not microed. ground locusts would tank, sure, but they would also need to path through rooted hosts somehow and they wouldn't produce nearly the same damage density.
I am absolutely certain that i saw this version of the dig on this channel before. Because i have a strong memory of grant being pike "oh my god the virophage laser drill is way better in this" and then the modder was saying in chat "yeah, i changed exactly none of the statistics, it should be exactly the same as normal, i have no idea why it feels different".
Judging by how long it takes to engage enemies, I'd guess that the laser drill starts with its cool down and then attacks, whereas the virophage first attacks and then has its cool down. (might also turn around faster, from the looks of it) It leads to much quicker stacking of targets! And there may be a bug in the sense that (for whatever reason) the virophage ends up doing more attacks per minute than the drill, due to that cool down timing.
I feel that Grant really under appreciated the swarm hosts because he sent them against one of the toughest protoss bases in the game, without melee support, and they died. Imagine trying to do that same thing with siege tanks or banshees or something... just would not work at all.3 or so impalers would have really gone a long way to protect the swarm hosts
Swarmhosts _are_ a bit underwhelming and your comparison is a bit flawed in that mass SH theoretically _should_ be able to handle both ground and air threats, unlike tanks or banshees. The main issue is that the enemy really likes to focus the hosts themselves and their locusts fly so zealots and immortals in particular have nothing else to attack. Impalers wouldn't fix that either, and none of the other available units are particularly great at tanking both of those (I guess +hp swarmlings might work). Also a tank army of comparable size totally would obliterate anything and everything on the ground this mission can throw at them. Banshees even more so as long as you keep them spread a bit and don't fly into storms (and HTs never leave the bases). You'd mostly just need some vikings or the voidrays and carriers would clean house.
@@Photoloss The issue with the Swarmhosts is target priority, which can easily be fixed by just adding a couple of cheap lings, especially with reconstitution, to distract the enemy ground units. A group of queens might also work, or some lurkers to kill the ground before it can get too close. Yes, Siege Tanks and Banshees can easily clear up the base if the have air support. So can Swarm Hosts if they have ground support. It also doesn't help if you put the Swarm Hosts too close to the enemy. Swarm Hosts have an incredible range if you manually spawn the Locust. Manually targeting the locust to focus on the ground units would also help. I think malignant creep is also a really good upgrade, but its hindered by being in the same slot as dual drones, because its no where near as good as dual drones
I really don't get the swarm host hate. They're great for defensive and sieging. They're just bad as a mono unit unless you've got the non-flier variant that can still hit air. They defend themselves by putting bodies out front, deal decent DPS and the locust have decently tanky bodies for a disposable unit. Even better if you throw some lings or ultras out front. Also, can manually cast the flying variant to get high ground vision and scouting.
They're too clunky to use as a support in a mixed army and not strong enough to monobattle. Ground locusts get in the way of lings, ultras and roaches and can't soak shots for the former 2 very well. The vision and scouting capabilities are easily replaced by having a bunch of overlords following your army, which also don't get messed up by timed life or a long aggro range. On the defence SH also lack AoE which tends to be an issue in race swaps as both other factions have dedicated AoE units the player is usually expected to use in such missions. That said swarmhosts would be _SO GOOD_ if they could get 2 of their mutation bonuses. Any 2. And maybe a "continuous spawn" rally or something so you don't have to manually pre-cast every single locust wave.
Think this mod would be better if you only got Kerrigan on missions you would usually get jim Are there any mods that give the ai heart of the swarm Zerg and legacy of the void Protoss and tal'darim ? Would be great to add difficulty to the campaign.
