    Excellent! But now you got me wanting a BBTalkin thing, too! Well, my birthday is coming up and I usually shower myself with expensive gifts ( since nobody else will or can't afford or wouldn't buy me the things I want). I loved the 'live' commentary.

    Thanks, great work as usual. Have you had a chance to try the new Advanced fueselage (mast nearer front wing) yet?
    This could make a difference to turning the 999 and 1099 on the 2nd wave.

      Hey Andrew! I haven't but will in the next week. I have confidence they will also loosen up the yaw and add torsional stiffness (less moment arm because distance from front wing to mast will be shorter). Here's to hoping!

      Awesome to meet you! I believe it was 10-11mph depending on the headwind, but it did require a big wake (large surf boat w ballast). I tend to recommend the 910 because it’s great for all of the wake sizes and possible rider weights

    Great video -- looking to invest into an Axis set up. I started foiling 5 years ago behind a boat with Slingshot flight school mast system (15", 24", 30" 36"), then 5 years with kite foiling in all conditions, got the Lift 4'2" eFoil 3 months ago with 150 front wing, 26 carve tail wing and now use folding prop (mostly in a lake). Now I want to get into Wake Foiling -- I have had 2 sessions behind my jetski with Slingshot Dwarfcraft 100cm board, Lift 170 HA front wing / 32 Glide rear wing trying to pump some and trying to ride the wake some but not doing either real well -- the Lift 170 HA doesn't seem to carve very well -- could just be me. I don't have any surfing background. I'm 145-150lbs. Watched most of your videos and trying to figure out which Axis set up to go with. I will be mostly behind my jetski (which is a SeaDoo Wake edition so small wake) and occasionally might be behind a friend's boat. I would like to be able to pump around the lake and ride a jetski wake. May also take into the ocean and tow into the swell behind a jetski. Could you recommend a couple of front wings, mast (aluminum vs. carbon), fuselage length (short or ultrashort) and a rear wing or wings? Thanks for any feedback.

    awesome vid! I have been having a lot of fun with the 910b behind the boat. I bought a used art 899 to give it a try and for whatever reason I couldn't get up on it to save my life. I must have tried 30 times. I got back in the boat and slapped the 910 back on and popped up first try. No idea why the art 899 was giving me so much trouble!

    Great video, question: I’ve never tried wake foiling, I’d love to get a wake foil though. I’m 110 lbs, I found a cloud ix surf foils s24 for sale, I was wondering if I could put it on a cheap wake surfboard I found, and would that be a good set up for wake foiling and riding small boat wakes, maybe pumping once and a while. Would this be good? Or any suggestions? I want to keep it cheap, as in like under 450 would be ideal

    So many wings haha. I just bought your previous recommended setup with the png 1150 a few months ago. I can pump all around the boat now. What do you think about just adding the art 899 to that setup? My wakes are pretty small (1996 mastercraft prostar 190 inboard, too lazy to fill ballast).

    • @WakeThief
      @WakeThief  2 роки тому +2

      I’d prefer you add the 910 for a smaller wake. 899 needs a steeper, high energy wake. Please email me. 910 can add to your red series fuselage. 899 needs a black series. Happy to discuss further! The 1150 is a dream on the lake and still our favorite foil for the lake. Wakethief@icloud.com

    Great vid! Question: My brother is looking at getting into wakefoil. He is 250lbs. Already wake surfs, wakeboard, surfs, etc but never foiled. Is the 910 a good starter set up for wakefoil? Or does he need to go bigger? I wing, Sup and prone foil but am 185 so I’m not sure what to recommend. Thanks

    • @WakeThief
      @WakeThief  2 роки тому

      Yes. The 910 will be fine. If he wants to enjoy surfing without the ballast. He could always use the 1010 (next size bigger). I’d recommend a red series build which will be stronger / stiffer. Please email me. Happy to discuss further. Devon. Wakethief@icloud.com

    Really curious, which Armstrong wing would you say is most similar to the Axis 910 behind the boat? I love the 910 cause I can pump and carve. I'm thinking about getting the Armstrong 1250 but worried it will be too small to pump.

      Behind the boat 1550v2 felt similar to 910 but the 910 is easier to pump than 1550v2 but not as easy as the 1850.

    Have you tried Axis new “ Super Easy Start packages “ ?

    • @WakeThief
      @WakeThief  2 роки тому +3

      Yes. It’s a great way to get into an axis package at a lower price and see if you like the sport, and upgrade from there. I find it easier to learn on, but for those with past boardsports experience, not that much easier than most other high performance front wings you’d want to buy if you feel in love with the sport.

    I would also like to get into the sport of foiling. I'm not quite sure what setup to buy though. I would like to use it for: pumping, surfing behind the bot, winging, and for surfing 1m waves in the sea. Would a 1099, 460mm, short fuselage and 820mm long aluminum mast be a good setup? Thank you in advance. Many greetings from Switzerland

      @@WakeThief Thank you for your quick response. Do you think it would be better to change something else? E.g. a shorter fuselage or longer mast. What effect does it actually have when I use the 375 rear wing. Or what happens then? Many thanks in advance.

    • @WakeThief
      @WakeThief  2 роки тому +1

      Smaller rear wings are faster and don’t pitch the board as quickly. Shorter fuses reduce pitch stiffness and yaw stiffness. Shorter masts are stiffer but don’t let you carve as deeply. That setup sounds pretty good, but it really depends on what you want.

    • @LAetLU
      @LAetLU 2 роки тому +1

      One very important parameter : what weight are you ??
      1099 + 460 has a pretty important lift, so in 1m wave, depending on your weight, you might want to reduce the stab and the fuse length to get a smoother take off at the expense of pure lift in small/weak waves.
      I'm 70kg and 1099+400+ultrashort is too much for me on waves, 1099+350 is doable, especially with a bigger/longer board weighting a bit more more (eg. when surfing with a wing on light-ish wind). Note that 1099 has a pretty long turn radius when proning unless you're 90kg+. At 70kg, for proning 1m waves, the 899+350+crazyshort is perfect. Haven't tried the 899+350+advance ultrashort though, which might make connecting waves even easier without loosing turnability compared to the regular crazyshort fuse.

      We have a Masrercraft X15 with about 3000 lbs of ballast so the wave is decent. However, one of the many reasons I prefer foiling over wakesurfing is not having to load up with tons of ballast. With a slightly smaller wake it seems like you have recommended the 910 to others?
      I really enjoy carving but would also like to do transfers.

    • @WakeThief
      @WakeThief  Рік тому +1

      The 910 is no a regret move. Red series is just fine behind the boat I’d you already have red. I’d start there then consider 899 once you really start to shred. I think you will need the ballast for 899 on second wave @ 190lb! Good luck!

      The 910 is pretty easy to pump and I can’t recommend a more forgiving smaller span foil for what you do … if you want more speed and similar pump distance you could go 999 and not give up the fluidity of carving. You will feel the difference in speed right off the bat. If you want to ride smaller wakes, I’d jump right to 1150. It’s roll resistance isn’t there much more than 1010.
