Summer Splice: 1960 Chevy "Biscala": Let's See if They Fit?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лип 2024
- Hi guys! Thanks for tuning in! This week we're going to keep going on the 1960 Chevy Impala I bought from Tom a couple of years ago... I have a Chevy Biscayne sedan for a donor, and it is time to see if we can save the Impala by grafting it to the bottom of the solid Biscayne! I did a 1960 Plymouth Fury a few years ago, so it'll be a similar job, overall... This week we'll finish prepping the 2 big pieces and try landing the top of the Impala on the bottom of the Biscayne...
Thanks everyone who ordered a 1937 Chevy T-shirt; they're being printed now and I'll let everyone know when they are on the way!
Hope you enjoyed the 8mm clips! I am filming more on the 8mm camera and I'll include the footage as soon as I get it developed... Special thanks to Steve Dean and Niagara Film Labs in Toronto.
Thanks to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments!

Gotta give you credit Scott. Most people wouldn't even think of giving this poor old Chevy a 2nd chance. They would just laugh and walk away.
Reminds me of when Bender met “god” in Futurama and god says “when you’ve done something right no one will be sure you’ve done anything at all..”
Same thing they say in oceans 11 when there getting ready to rob the casino
I never noticed it before but when Tom starts swearing the trees DO start blowing back and forth! 🤣
Can’t wait for Tom to go for his first drive in the impala !
Honestly this splice went better than the last one. Nice to see Al back on the show.
The Fury splice went perfectly.
1972 I had a wife and 2 kids so needed something. found a 60 chevy station wagon for 20 bucks. fixed it up and used it for 4 years. sold it for 200 bucks when it got to rusty. great car to drive in traffic. NO one tried to bully me for a lane. I am enjoying this restoration very much.
A 60 BelAir 4 door was the one I never should’ve sold. Best dash of any of my cars. I replaced the bad 283 with one from a buddy who had wrecked his truck and drove it around 4 years
The Music, the Content, OH MY.
Scott, I have no words for the dedication you show in your craft. You and the other agents do an excellent job. I can't wait to see this project moving along.
The splice is nice!
This is the best part of my week.... Thanks!
Opening band - FANTASTIC!
Hey thanks... Everyone remembers that one, haha... Cheers!
Happy Sunday morning from the Great Southland. It’s 6.20 am and the Kookaburra’s are heralding the winter days sunrise. It’s a cool 15 degrees with a max 24 degree winters day here.
This is so impressive, a great bunch of mates helps no end. Maybe you should splice the badges too Scott - 'Biscala' one side and 'Impane' on the other 😄
Great opening with the band. Always nice to see good friends pitching in on a project. Glad to see “the Foreman” stop by to sign off on the work 😃. Cheers from Connecticut!!
@@user-mq4zg1rq7t Tom is most definitely the greatest retired foreman around!
Freakin amazing. Thanx to everyone that contributed
A guy that lives in the condo next door came over for a beer yesterday and saw my CWM calendar. He watches each CWM video also. Guess what we talked about for the next two hours? Instant friendship! 🍻 and I LOVE the calendar. 👊
👍 to all that helped get the impala on its way back to life. I like watching the way you work the body hammer and dolly. Looking forward to seeing more. 😎✌️❤️👍. Cheers.
So nice to have buddies who will drop by to lend a hand. I miss those days.
Yaaaayyyy!!! The weekend begins...;D
So many hidden seams to hold moisture and salt. No wonder cars from that era rusted in strange places. Hunny Bunny on keyboards very cool ! Cheers 👊😎👍
And on guitar at the end. A telecaster if I’m not mistaken
Al was instrumental on the 60 Fury as I recall. He's GREAT help !!! Of course so are the others !!! The entire crew on this channel are truly exceptional !!! That, in itself, it the biggest factor in why this channel is the absolute best automotive related channel (if you like original "quality early USA made automotive iron) along with some quality foreign specimens of the same (profit, not absolute greed) corporate period.
So, to all the "real" mechanics on this channel and any of their like minded friends "CHEERS" and thanks for the weekly uplift and entertainment !!!
👍
No matter how long or short, you keep your viewers so engaged that the time slips away.
That accellerated quickly! It is a sure sign of a skilled crew when the lot of you could communicate so well in a form of short hand all could understand. That was amazing to watch!
Summer Splice Spectacular! let the sad bastard shit work show begin!
Here we GO!
Cheers guys! All the best from here to everyone at Nick's Garage!
Scott's Summer Splice Special, great entertainment as I watch the hurricane forecast down here in Texas. I love Ash's choice of cars from the Boogie Van to his older Datsuns.
Dang, ok - stay safe!
@@Nunofurdambiznez Thanks, I live just north of Houston so we should be ok, just lots of rain and some higher winds. My brother-in-law lives and works on the coast, so he is in for a bit more.
Ahhhhhh, the moment it all goes in.....according to plan. Great work from all your assistants getting the coupe body on the 4 dr floor pan and frame. Have a great week guys and gals of CWM. 😊😊😊
Don't think the Fisher brothers could have imagined 64 years later, a gaggle of Albertans would be splicing one of their Chevrolets back together out of 2 cars, with one of their 37's (that still runs & drives), sitting in the garage next door. Makes me all misty 'n shit. Cheers.
The gentleman that owes that beautiful Impala I photographed is seeing this. He wondered why you are doing this when you can get a restored one. I told him there wouldn't be any fun in that. I also told him you are a cheap bastard. 😂 Cheers!
And it's proof that an appropriate buzz helps the imagination in considering possibilities, if you have the skill, shit... Go for it😂
Hi Heather! Well, I guess I would buy a restored one if I could find a nice one for 7500 bucks, which is what I'll have into this when it is finished, just like the Fury... Ask him what he wants for his? Haha cheers, and thanks as always for supporting and encouraging this nonsense! (PS I am definitely a cheap bastard; that's why I learned how to fix cars!)
@@coldwarmotors You know, you live close to my idea of heaven.
I bet 99% of the guys who watch this channel wish they could be you.
Saturday Night's Alright for Splicin'
More extraordinary contributions from the CWM team, certainly including Dean, Frankers, & Tom as well as Myles, Ash, & Al., who madeb yet another rich pleasure to my week!
So satisfying to have that car fit together when the Impala melded to the Biscayne. Awesome.
I really liked "It's just maybe a little over 100 horse.....but it puts a smile on my face." That's what its about.
Splice-tastic! Great show! That 411 and Sport Fury...gorgeous!
Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers from me and Miss Frankers...
Now it’s a viable project, I’m glad you guys are saving this one!
Scott, your patience and build skills are top notch. Me? Id throw a lit match in the fuel tank and walk away. Guess thats why im NOT resurrecting old vehicles.
I have never done any body work. I'm still an expert because I never miss an episode of CWM.
SO happy to watch this transformation Scott! And how cool to have friends to pitch in and help? Really fun! Thanks for including us! Todd Konoske the retired trucker.
If you’re like me, you start off with nice new spot weld drill bits and by the end any bit that relative size gets called into service.
Yep! I just buy the big "happy pack" of cheapos and burn through them... Cheers Angus!
Wow! This episode had EVERYTHING: live music, teamwork, a dramatic body splice, and cameos from Dean, Dean's Edsel, Myles' Fury, and advice from Tom. What a perfect way to spend an hour or so on a Saturday. Well done, and cheers!
Al is an absolute Canadian national treasure. Anyone who actually enjoys roofing, my hat goes off in respect.
it's looking great gang ,thanks so much for sharing the process .
The time-lapse hammer and dolly work was very cool to see
What daring! What outrageousness! What insolence! What arrogance! I salute you.
Dean better be careful parking that Edsel there, you might splice a two door hardtop on it!
I must say that CWM is no longer a sausage fest! She’s a brave woman!
I love these long videos on the Chev.
Enjoyed every moment of this build! Thanks so much for saving this great car!
Fantastic job! Y'all are really bringing the Impala along. The knowledge and passion you bring to these projects shows and I look forward to seeing the new videos every week.
Love it! Cold war motors time fellas and gals!
Your work amazes me. I always look forward to new episodes.
Yeah man! This splice is gonna be awesome.
I can honestly say. I have never seen anything close to this ever done. Know the work is tedious. And you men are perfection in motion. Loving this Scott. Thanks for taking us along. 💯👏👊👍
your skills are unreal I watched you build the Q panels on the Ply
You should rename the sill plates " Body by Fissure ".
I just love the Archaeology lesson of rocker panel history and technology, Quality UA-cam content at it's best! LOL
Love your show guys😀i have ben a fan for years, god too se a real splice agen, cheers😀Ggeetings from Norway😃
I've been waiting all week to see this one! I remember watching you splice the 60 Fury a few years ago and watching with a morbid curiosity just to see if it could be done. After seeing you build that car, I KNOW you'll have the Impala as sharp as a tack.
And a big pat on the back to Ash, Myles and Al for their help. I wish I had more friends like you guys!
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, those guys were champions to put up with this little project, haha!
Well, I would not ever give this car a snowball's chance in hell of survival. But after watch Scott save the Plymouth, ALL bets are off. Scott you got a long way to go and a short time to get there. You, old bandit, thank you ALL stay safe
thanks to you Scott !!! Good show !!!
It was like watching them roll down the assembly line in the old GM factory films. :D I've watched a lot of Discovery channel car shows and I figure you should have this wrapped up in a couple more episodes. I can't wait... Cheers and all the best from the shed.
If it is a true "reality" program, they'll be desention in the ranks with cussing and tools flying in anger and they will have the finished product at SEMA with an hour to spare!😆
Ha! Yeah, that should do it... But paint will take almost a full day, right? Cheers buddy... all the best as always from here!
If this was true a "reality" program the agents would be fighting amongst themselves with cussing and tools being thrown. Then in the last 20 minutes of the show everyone would pull together and get it to SEMA with an hour to spare (remove this comment too You Tube)!!! 😆
@@glennnickerson8438 YT must be on break... ya got through!
Always a pleasure watching an A team working on a project.
great tune to cover it suits the channel lol thanks for the vids!
Haha! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great, what a progress!
CWM newest t-shirt`: Dean in the trunk helping with the splice... Sign me up!
Can all the king's stoners and all the king's men put rustie dumpy back together again.
I really dig these splice series. I am learning a lot about how cars are built, and also that literally anything can be saved!
Did I hear AL has a Van now. With windows? Haha. Liking this Biscala Splice Cheers to all. 🇨🇦
It’s going to be interesting to see what type of shape the 59 Buick are in when you do the chassis swap. I wonder if the Impala was built on a Monday morning when the crew was hung over from the weekend.. Cheers to all!
Hi David! I think the Buick is in much better shape overall... Cheers!
Love your automotive skullduggery. Great show!
As per the usual amazing content that car is in great hands!
You get some amazing work done Scott, you're fortunately backed by good friends, neighbors and an awesome Standard, what a huge accomplishment this week. She's gonna be amazing if the Fury is any measuring stick...Cheers man, thanks for bringing us along!
More splicing please !! Thanks for another , Brother !
That truck floor work was crazy amazing! You can, apparently, make a silk purse from a sow's ear.
You're lucky to have the boys help shoehorn the foot into the boot!!
Great show!👍👍
I cant believe how fast the Biscala is coming along. Its gonna look great Scott!
Awesome week
Absolutely awesome guys!!
It's hot in Georgia, about to rain too, it's also 4:00, so there is something to do!
I do love this stuff...
About 91 in Ringgold...😎
Always something to do!
I've been looking forward to Chevy Splice!
Wonderful splice..enjoying it....2 cars become one drivable one.
Brilliant build love watching your channel cheers from the UK 🇬🇧
Great job on the Chevy, it's starting to look like a car again
Fantastic job Gentlemen! Y'all drink a cold one in celebration!
Fantastic team effort! Being able to save something that rusty is quite an accomplishment. Working on cars out in the yard is something quite a few of us can relate to. Looking forward to more. Cheers! 😎👍🚙🏁🏁🛠🔧🪛
SO satisfying seeing two halves from different cars, assembled sixty-four years ago, likely in different plants, joined together as one. I get it that leaving the rear glass in place helped keep the upper half from racking, but, man was I nervous! Wondering if Scott considered a repop trunk floor? Had the perfect opportunity to drop one in while topless. Maybe not in the budget. Maybe not Scott's style. Gonna love following this project!
Thanks to all the Agents for the progress on the Biscala.
The Camera Operator sure got a workout landing the top on the car, Bravo. We all appreciate the content that comes from Same Old Shit Studios Scott.
Best Wishes to everyone at Cold War Motors, their Families and Friends.
So if you're new here and watched since the beginning of the "Biscala" splice and asked yourself, "How in the hell - - - - ?" Well now you know, and the amazing part is one guy has the vision and three others jump in to make it happen. (Make that 4, I saw Jim at the end jockeying the nose in while Matt slacked in the background.) Props to the camera work catching the key fitments too. Oh, I still ask that question too, how in the hell - - - ?
Shout out to Tom and his Beaver Drilling Ltd. hat! Haha, horizontal drilling at it's finest. Boy that takes me back. This episode is already so intriguing and only 12 minutes in. I love all the similarities and differences at the same time. So neat!
If I hadn't watched the Fury splice, I'd be thinking: "How in this ever going to work?!?" A two door Impala spliced onto a four door Biscayne?
But I watched and enjoyed how that gorgeous Fury came together and I know this Bicala will be just as gorgeous!
Thanks for your channel!
Gonna be a fun summer ...Great progress Scott..
Fantastic Scott! All the best! 👍👍👍❤️🇸🇪
The only type of surgery where you wash your hands AFTER the operation. Outstanding stuff. Loving every cut.
Like paleontologist putting dinosaur 🦕bones back together after a find and dig. Dean looked like he was looking for a 24 in the trunk of the impala and the bottom fell out and the beer is gone.
My dad drove a Datsun 411 from California to Fairbanks Alaska. Nice car agent 0482!
The band activity helps ease the mind. Than some good old fashioned hard work.
That was satisfying! Cheers to you and the great bunch of friends you have pitch in - can’t wait to see the progress next week!
Awesome bunch of buddies.
Some people have all the fun, I'm deff' jealous.
Think those guys that opened can play the Clash's "White Riot"? I bet they'd kill it!
Very nice. Now that is art. Not a lot of people can do what you guys are doing. You have a unique group of friends.
