Summer Splice: 1960 Chevy "Biscala": Time to Get it Together! Plus: Dean's Greasy Flips & New Ride!

  • Hi guys! Thanks for tuning in! This week we're going to keep going on the 1960 Chevy Impala I bought from Tom a couple of years ago... I have a Chevy Biscayne sedan for a donor, and it is time to see if we can save the Impala by grafting it to the bottom of the solid Biscayne! I did a 1960 Plymouth Fury a few years ago, so it'll be a similar job, overall... This week we'll start installing the doors and begin the long process of fitting everything together...
Dean is back with another fabulous Summer Flip, and Myles has been shopping... It's a sweetie!
Thanks everyone who ordered a 1937 Chevy T-shirt; they're being printed now and I'll let everyone know when they are on the way!
Hope you enjoyed the 8mm clips! I am filming more on the 8mm camera and I'll include the footage as soon as I get it developed... Special thanks to Steve Dean and Niagara Film Labs in Toronto.
Thanks to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments!

I have to tell you that you remind me of my high school body shop teacher...I feel like I'm back in class because of the attention to detail. Then on the other side of the scale is Dean's Toyota flip: a battery, a Ford coil, and out the door!😆
And a shout-out to Myles buying another classic Poncho...if you need help with your addiction, Myles - you buy them, I'll take them home!
      LOL!
(Going to Canada is on the bucket list; just gotta fill the bucket first, if you know what I mean 🤑)

@@coldwarmotors Since Dean doesn't like the idea of a two door hardtop how about a two door Roundup station wagon , the wagon wheel base is 2 inches shorter (yep he said shorter) but you could just move the wheel opening back, I'm sure Dean wouldn't mind😜

Years ago I got caught in a safety check lane with my '63 Ford Falcon Squire woody wagon. I thought I'd make it through without any problem. Nope! The license plate light was out, and ever since that time I've kept an eye out for all lights on all cars.
With that in mind, it looked like the '60 Pontiac's license plate light's not working.
Hey, would you rather hear it from the RCMP or me ha-ha?

Its fun looking at the Canadian Pontiacs compared the the American version. My uncle bought a new 1963 Bonneville back when I was seven and I remember being impressed on how effortlessly it accelerated compared to my Dad's 1962 Plymouth Savoy with the slant six. My uncle had been a tool designer in Detroit back then and always traded for a new Pontiac every two years.

Since I was like 5, I always built model kits and looked at various car magazines... The thing is, they always feature the flagship models! Always the coupes and high-end versions of only the most popular brands! That's in part why I love your channel; I keep discovering models I never saw in model form, books or even car shows! And thing is, those unknown cars must have been 3/4 of what was on the road back in the day!

Hi guys, nice Pontiac Hardtop, the 6 makes it rare. If You Had a time machine, and went to the factory and watched them build your Impala, you'd be shocked until you realized that that was the story . They came out shiny new and fast. All the lines were moving at top speed, and the product came out at a standard level of finish. The new cars then had a lifespan of 100,000 miles or, 10-12 years. Today , the restorers turn out a car that's three times that good. Well Done Scott... Cheers

The "tedious" work on the Biscala is where a lot of learning is. It's a shame that recording it would be such a pain for you. Lots of folks could learn a lot.
Good luck with it all. I'm sure it will turn out great. You won't stop until it is great, I expect.
Myles really has the Pontiac sickness how. ;) The Parisienne is a nice looking old gal.
Watching Dean at the end was a good laugh. He's amazing.. in so many ways. :)

I like the "CLICK CLICK" latching sound of a well hung door. Nice work.

When we got married, my wife had a Plymouth Champ-it was a Mitsubishi import sold through Chrysler dealers-we ran the wheels off that car-very similar to Dean's flip-same color too! Good progress on the splice-and a trip in the T! Awesome-Cheers!

I love the Parisienne line, in particular the '67 Fastback. Since you've installed Cragars and Keystones, I vote either chrome steel or slots! :) Myles, you have the fucking coolest cars!

Scott, every video is an instructive video and we learn the value of perseverance if nothing else! Keep at it, it'll happen and happen right. The tedious is still necessary and part of the learning curve with any project. And always looking forward to the next week and whatever you will be working on!

I haven't seen a Toyota Tercel for years. One my friends bought one new in the 80's. IT was an ok economy car. It didn't do anything special, but it was a daily driver.

I owned a 2002 Toyota Echo from new through 2009. Like your friend's Tercel it was an OK car all around. I sold it when it hit 171,000 miles. The new owner got it up to 286,000 miles. It would have gone even further if a distracted driver hadn't broadsided it.
      Oh well!

Washed down a many natty lights in an 83 tercel, back in the 80s and 90s when it still snowed in oklahoma we were the only vagabonds on the gravel roads.

Another awesome job on the show! I really appreciate the fact that your attention to detail shines through. That 1/8 of an inch will tell the entire story when the project is complete and shining better than new. Wishing you and the menace and all the agents a great week. Myles really scored on that Pontiac! It is a sickness:)

Impressive work on the Biscala, getting those doors to click shut like that was so satisfying. I know its going to be a lot if work going forward, but I'm sure we're all going to be interested in the way it takes shape. Great new Pontiac purchase from Myles, looks like a good one. Nice to see the old Model T out too! Cheers again Scott.

I was just talking about my 81 Tercel SR5 two days ago, great little car. Developed a catastrophic oil leak, such a tragic end to my pot smoke soaked interior'd little beast. 😂
