The Doctor Who Fan Orchestra invites musical fans of Doctor Who to take part in an online collaborative celebration of Murray Gold's music. Participants submitted recordings for this work from February to May 2012.
This final mix includes a total of 196 submissions from 174 individual participants, ranging in age from 10 to 60, and who are located in at least 20 different countries across the world.
PLEASE NOTE: Before anyone asks, no, I'm afraid I can't give you sheet music so your school orchestra or similar can play the music. This is for copyright reasons.
I will ignore any such requests. Thank you for understanding!

Thanks to all participants!
3:51 "Skaro! You brought me to Skaro!".
"Where does an old man go to die, but with his children."
The dalek shadow moving across the screen is terrifying
6:13 Martha; "What is it?!"
Dalek Sec; "I am a human Dalek, I am your future!".
THIS. IS. FANTASTIC. Well done to us all (with a special shoutout to my fellow cellists), we EXTERMINATED it!
7:12 arcadia has fallen i repeat arcadia has fallen
man this gives me the chills
There are two types of Villain theme songs.
There is Vader, who is intimidating and should be respected.
Then there are the Daleks, which is the emphasis of flight over fight.
The first bit just creeps me out! I love the dynamics!
Oh, oh, oh, I can't stop watching this! I'm so happy I was able to participate & can't wait for more! Congrats to all involved, we have made something amazing!
This is soooooooooooo great from you all, I looooove it all from you, I wish I could have been part of
This is so cool!!! I'm so glad that I was able to be a part of this! Cannot wait for the next one!
Also, major props for that editing!!!
As soon as the choir started, I got a shiver of delight!!! This is utterly fantastic!!
This is fantastic
Thank you! Yes it's us, working for many weeks to perform this challenging work. And as far as we know, the official soundtrack/concert versions don't have theremin or steel drums! :-) - Robin LaPasha, DWFO assistant coordinator
This was so much fun to be a part of! It's come together brilliantly! Can't wait to start the next piece! :D
I am so depressed that I was too busy to record. Good job all! It was BRILLIANT.
Fantastic! Looking forward to your next piece!
*Can't resist sudden urge to watch Doctor Who now*
Everybody who did this, continue because this is amazing! well done. it's beautiful!
Holy effing shivers!! Your best so far that I've seen! O_O
I love it when people can come together and just well, this.
it´s sooo beautiful what you do, thanx for every single one
This is truly brilliant, all those involved should be very proud!
OMG! There is a Theremin-playing tuba player. I'm in love...
I wish I had the honor of being a part of this. Awesome job!
ALL OF YOU ARE AMAZING!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE KEEP ON DOING THE GREAT WORK!!!!!

Absolutely loved it.
Makes me wish I know an instrument so that I could contribute too...
This is freakin awesome!!!
You never seize to surprise me with how good this fan orchestra is at this. I'm loving this. I'll try to submit my entry when you do the main theme.
I wish I could play any instrument just to be part of this... XD Seriously, you guys are amazing. Congratulations!! :D
Amazing! Perfect timing!
I am beyond happy that you all did The Dalek's theme from Series 1&2 & multiply that by 700 for The Dark & Endless Dalek Night!
Keep the videos coming!
the DWFO just keeps getting better with each piece, that being said i think it would be fantastic idea if you guys redo some of the older pieces? you have more ppl which can only add to the previous ones. anyway regardless amazing work will be waiting/watching for more :D
Absolutely superb! Congratulations to all involved. Spot on arrangement and playing. Really hope to get involved with the next one!
Great villain music! I like this one as well as the previous ones.
Bellissimo! It's so inconceivably! I love it! I would like to take part in that! Ah!
Excellent!!!
You guys are amazing, I love you guys!
You SANG it! Awesome!
Loving the I am the Doctor in Utah arrangement at the end ;) Awesome editing as usual and everyone played brilliantly :D
goosebumbs looking forward to see your next piece of art
Daleks are Supreme!
Just found this and am in awe of the work involved, the wonderful collaboration, fantastic editing. One (senior) lever (jazz) harpist here, waiting avidly for the opportunity to join up!
Well done once again! I'm looking forward to your next piece!
Wonderful! Words can't describe how awesome this is!
@stormlvr17 - Just to clarify - @samurang87 means that individual-part sheet music and click-track audio is given to *participants* in the piece. - Robin LaPasha, DWFO Assistant Coordinator
I wish someday the Orchestra performs "Midnight Suite". It´s a master piece.
Incredible!
That was AWESOME. Brillant. Etc...
SO SO GOOD! I got chills :) Love the video Dalek effects, as well!
Fantastic!
YES! The Doctor Who Fan Orchestra is back! *Dances (badly)* This. Is. Fantastic! Words cannot express How Happy I am.
Well, it just gets better and better. Nice job :)
It sounds so full and epic. Much different from our first piece.
This is utterly amazing!
3:22 soon the crucible will be complete the daleks have waited long for this ultimate destiny now the daleks are the masters of earth!!!!
great, thanx
Wow, amazing!!
All ages are welcome; you can take part with pretty much any standard instrument or your voice (and there are some special instruments scored for as well - a full list is published for each signup); signups for each piece are publicised in advance. You fill in an online form - but you must have a good microphone to be able to record your part.
The instrument in the larger window at the top, from 0:25. Pitch and dynamics and controlled by moving your hands closer and further away from the antennae - so you can create spooky, glidey sounds!
Wow. Wow. Wow. I only get 500 characters - that's not enough room for all the "Wows" :)
Excellent!!
that was awsome love the doctor who series, and when are you guys going to do one for the doctor who series main opening theme thats one of my favorite themes for doctor who series, i hope ypu do it soon.
Nothing short of brilliant, as usual :)
Thank you!
Wow. Is that really the actual sounds of the participants? I mean, of course it is, but it's hard to believe the music wasn't just taken straight from the soundtrack (or wherever). :D What I just watched was amazing!
god, so proud of this! A bit sad that I couldn't finish my video in time, but at least my voice is there =) Already practicing for Impossible Astronaut =D
Astounding job! Heather Ackroyd mentioned once that the villains get the best music; here, the best villains get the best music which gets the best musicicans!
(Minor quibble: in the VOTD section, I would have kept the gong crash that announces both the entry of the Dalek and the Doctor's horrified surprise to it)
has any of this been mentioned on DW fan sites or fanzines, or the telly or radio?
I'm going to let everyone I know know about this!
Keep up the good work!
Behold the Dalek Suite!! ENJOY! ENJOY!!! ENJOOOOY!!!!!!!
Ha! AMAZING! And you FINALLY showed the bassoons!
Would you by chance need a Bassoon/Clarinet/Bari Sax/Piano player?
At the end I felt like applauding.
That was amazing, amazingly brilliant.
Fantastic to see a Theremin player.
How do you ever write music for a theremin?
Someone gave a presentation on Gregorian Chants in my World Religions class. He said it was traditionally supposed to calm people down, with it's slow rhythm and deep voices. When he played a bit, I started tensing up and couldn't figure out why until I remembered Daleks.
You have to do song of freedom, The song played when everyone brings the earth back home at the end of 'Journey's end' Series 4! It would be so good to see you guys do it! :D
Awesome. The part at 4:20 ish reminds me of something from Final Fantasy VII or VIII for some reason...
This was great guys! I hope my cello was adequate ( it didn't screech for once, i really need to get it fixed!)
This is so AMAZING! If I would like to play clarinet and/or guitar on the next one will I be given music or will I have to figure it out by ear???
You are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's awesome!!
god i love these
You are great!
thanxies!
Signed up for this, got the music and then got so busy with I couldn't record.
We're about to put out our next piece (A Christmas Carol), and a few weeks after that - so early in 2013 - there'll be a promo video inviting people to register to participate in the next one. So if you subscribe to this channel and/or like the page "Doctor Who Fan Orchestra" on Facebook, you'll get a notification when that goes up. With the interest we have these days, registrations have to be limited to the first 600, so it pays to keep a close eye on it.
Amazing job of bringing together all those Dalek scores together, what a great arrangement. Any chance of us seeing composers other than Murray Gold featured in future?
This is awesome O.O
My friend, Amanda, is in this video. She wouldn't stop showing the music to me in class. Haha. She also keeps bugging me to join.
I just love that! Soo epic! :)
Anyone else notice that all the colours shown at 5:46 are the same colours as the New Daleks while they're playing the song when they come out of the progenitor chamber? Coincedence? I think not!
Also,I don't think this is the place to request a song/songs, but do you think you guys are ever going to do songs from Torchwood? Particularly songs from Children of Earth? Those 5 episodes had some pretty amazing music to go with them. I would love to hear "The World Looks to the Skies", "Here Comes Torchwood!", & of course, "The Ballad of Ianto Jones". =]
3:34 last day of the time war
aka THe Dark and Endless night of a Dalek
Nice theremin!
sooooooooooooooooooooo good
brings an evil chuckle
genius!
Cool!
Just......WOW........
There is nothing else to be said!
interesting sounds bro
Next piece will open for signups pretty soon. Watch (or subscribe to) this channel for the promo announcing it. - Robin LaPasha, DWFO assistant coordinator
WITNESS DWFO A NEW DALEK PARADIGM
this is really amazing however it would be great to list not only the names of the people performing but also which country they come from
amazing job =) how would you go about joining? I play flute and I find that when band isn't in session that I have a lack of things to play
