Great video as always, not sure about the sound, all videos I watched of this bike really dont make it sound as good as the Aprillia V4…maybe videos dont do it justice?
As far as i know Ducati wanted a v4 with a sound as similar as possible to their L2 engine This should explain this sound, very different in comparison to a classic v4, like the Aprilia
Wow. If i had to make one wish right now I would beam myself up to that road. And maybe choose the 950 S instead.. but everything else is just about perfect!
@@ohad.5890 The power of the 950 is more than sufficient and therefore more enjoyable than the horsepower overdose of the V4 on these type of twisties. But that's just my opinion
Can I ask you one thing? Many people with continental roadattack or trailattack on the multi V4 say that at high speed there are a lot of vibrations with these tyres (I mean at 180/200+ km/h). Have you noticed that? And what do you think about these tyres? I would like to mount them on the multi 950S (roadattack version)

Great video. Seeing as you have a solid amount of experience with both BMW 1250 GS/GSA and Multistrada V4S. Which one would you recommend given the following (wall of text)? :Considering to get one of them so me and my gf can go on trips together, currently I own s1000R which isn't really made for 2up. No off-road driving, only asphalt. Both short trips and maybe a trip to some of the passes you have recommended. Usually it will only be me riding it, but from time to time (hopefully) also with passenger. Other riders I ride with generally ride GS, Gold Wing, GTL1600, FJR1300 and FJ8s. I've just passed 30 years of age, kind of worried that I am a bit too young to go to GS/Multistrada already and way too young to go Gold Wing/GTL1600, but I also want my passenger to have good comfort. In Norway the GSA fully decked and MultiStrada4S with Travel+Radar package ends up at around the same price (both are expensive :P). The design+60k km big service check + extra features like Adaptive CruiseControl and blind spot warning is a big + for Ducati. But fuel economy, small tank and chain is a big negative. I don't buy a bike due to fuel economy(current bike bmw s1000r). But the difference between the GSA and MultiStrada seems very big fuel economy wise. BMW + is the drive shaft, fuel economy, 30L tank and loads of accessories available. Main negatives for BMW GS/GSA is they are very common, also I have a suspicion that BMW will launch a 1300 engine next year, which would lower the value of a new 1250. Then again I'm fairly convinced that the 1250 GSA is a great bike and that I would enjoy it anyway. Just would suck if they launch a 1300 with adaptive Cruise just after I had bought current model.
I'm afraid that I would be too scared to buy any of the two before the release of the new GS. I'd wait. Regarding your preferences in general though. Both will make you and your girlfriend happy. The V4 is more fun in the twisties while the GSA is more fun when rides become loooong because it has the better wind protection. It is a difficult decision but in the end none of them can be fatally wrong
@@Schaaf Ty, yeah I might need to stay ice cold and try to rent a GSA for a week or two this summer. The signs that they will release a new one is so strong, no real updates, same colors as last year, even keeping the 40th year edition. I’m trying to decide between a new Multi v2s and a used Multi v4s as the price i can get them are the same. If you had the choice between the two at the same price what would you get?
Well, you will find out very soon if your engine dies within a few hundred miles or not. (It happened to a bunch of V4S owners, there was even a recall.)
Question for you as THE expert: In May I plan to cross Austria on my own beast to visit some old friends. From Salzburg to Udine (Italy) to Vienna. What would you reckon are the roads that I should not miss? Any tips?
I'm unfortunately no expert for my home country since I prefer riding in other places ;) But here are some of my favourite Austrian ALps classics: Großglockner Hochalpenstrasse, Malta Hochalmstraße, Nockalmstraße, Nassfeldpass, Rossfeldstraße (actually Germany but close to the border)
I will definitely also go into Italy too, I heard you being enthusiastic about the roads there. With am all road, so I don’t really mind the rough surface. More tips there? Or am I pushing too far now ;). Appreciate it!
If you're starting from Salzburg, make sure you don't miss the Postalm! Just go from Salzburg to the Gaisberg, then to the Fuschlsee and on the south end of the Wolfgangsee is the north ramp from the Postalm. From there, you can either go to the Großglockner, or via Obertauern and Katschberg to the south. If time is no faktor, you could also take the Sölkpass and from there to the Nockalm and Maltastausee. I take this routes several times a year and never get bored.😁 I could go further, but that would probably be a bit to much text for one comment... :D

there's corners where RPMs in second gear are dropping below 4K. The Multi has its peak performance between 8K and 10K. You're exactly this type of rider who gets himself a motorcycle with 170HP and yet you'll never use half of that power.
