The Mercedes GLE Coupe is the sportier, sleeker version of the Mercedes GLE SUV, and is poised to rival the BMW X6 as a sports 4x4.
The Coupe has a lower, more sloping roofline than the standard GLE and has a more rounded design to it too. The engine range is slightly smaller, forgoing the super-efficient hybrid model, but it still has the crazy AMG-tuned version with a massive 5.5-litre V8. We think your best option is the 350d diesel, as it still has plenty of power and is the most economical engine in the range.

I honestly don't know why people hate this thing. sure it may not be practical, but it sure turns heads.
+xxthehuskycaboosexx Isn't practicality one of the main reasons one buys an SUV? I mean, take the "Utility" out of "Sports Utility Vehicle" and all you have is "Sports Vehicle"... and there are plenty better sports vehicles on the market than this thing.

I love this car, i will recommand to go for the amg Sport Package. If you have seen this car in real, you will love it, too.
Not a big fan of the SUV-Coupé look since day 1. Just get a normal GLE or X5. Heck, save some cash and get an estate if the toughest terrain you'll ever encounter on your commute to work is a bunch of speed bumps!
I have seen a white GLE coupe in real Life and I think it is better looking than the X6. The front looks more aggressive and the back is a lot more slim than the X6's back. If I had to choose over those two, I would take the GLE. I can't care less if the X6 is better through the corners because an SUV is just about cruising and having a nice comfortable drive.
Know what you mean but as Matt says, if comfortable cruising is key, Range Rover do it better than Merc or BMW...
Yeah, but I am discussing GLE vs X6 which I think are much closer rivals because they have a similar look. But I understand what you mean, I would have Rager Rover over those two vehicles any day...

My dads just bought one of these and I thought it was ugly at first but it's grown on me and when it's on the road it's a proper beast looks amazing

I saw this car in white coming in front of me and believe me it looks soooo expensive it really looked so wide and big and it looks much more muscular than the X6

This type of car looks like a whale on wheels .. does'nt matter which brand, Merc, BMW ... whale-on-wheels.
I never liked the look of the original X6. It just didn't look good to me. It was too round, and the headlights made it look to "pretty" and what not. It wasn't very aggressive looking, just very round and bulgy/weird. But when i first saw this thing, i immediately fell in love. It's very sporty, aggressive, and sexy. The looks alone convince you its faster and nicer than the X6 imo.

Not a huge car guy these days but this has rekindled the love. Such a beutiful car.
I am a big Mercedes fan, but I have to say, for this type of car class, I would much rather have the X6. And besides the BMW is also much more good looking than the GLE...pfff BMW started the whole new class with the X6 and I think they still are the best with it. But unfortunately Mercedes need their share of the market as well I guess :p

What's the point of this car? If you wan't a coupe you buy a coupe. If you want estate you buy estate and if you want a SUV which this car is not even close than you buy an SUV. I don't understand this. It's really ugly just like the X6

+supersonic Your comment probably will put many people off this car :) Once the association is made, it will be difficult not to think about a pooping dog when seeing the car...Nonetheless, I still think the GLE Coupé does make sense somehow. With its gaudy exterior design and a cabin that's slightly more bling than what you'll find in an X6 (check out the red ambient lighting for instance), the overall package is consistent and will effortlessly appeal to its target audience.
+Maarten Demuynck MB has joined together too many ideas into one car, it is impossible to create a car for every purpose, some features just can't occur with others...because human being as an imperfect creature is unable to create perfect things :)
DANGER- Beware of the software update recall which causes the car to turn off while driving and as Mercedes puts it in there recall notes that if this happens-THE CAR CAN CRASH-and the recall started in July of 2016-and that is exactly what happened to my 2016 GLE450 Coupe on July 14, 2016- the car has 5000 miles and was leased in January of 2016-I had the car towed to the closest dealer for repairs after my wife while entering a parking space at about 3 miles an hour had the car turn off and the car rolled into a post causing $4000 US in damage-the car has been at the dealer for 27 days to date-I assumed Mercedes would handle and pay for all the damages but after waiting a week of no phone calls from either the dealer or the main office in New Jersey I had to start calling and complaining as well as having make a claim with my insurance company to begin repairs-again after weeks of no calls the main office tells me their computer people cannot find an event that caused the car to turn off and they will not be paying for damages-If this same thing had not happened to me while driving I may question my wife and her claim of events but a few weeks prior the car turned off on me while braking at an intersection and luckily there were no cars around me-

Ugliest MB I have ever seen. No you can't be a 4 door coupe with crossover height at the same time. Didn't work for the X6 nor for this, however you can't blame MB for making it, as the X6 sells quite well for BMW.

Really not keen on the infotainment/sat nav screens just plonked on the dash like Mercedes/BMW/Audi seem to be doing. Just makes it look like an afterthought.
The rear infotainment system seems irrelevant nowadays in my opinion. Coz the kids will be busy with their phones and ipads they won't even care for that expensive screens anymore. So nope for me. Rather have the panoramic instead

I don't get the coupe SUV at all. You buy an SUV for practicality, and ruin it for what I can only imagine to be a desire to be different.
The interior looks quite cheap, I was shocked when I saw the phone buttons. This opinion could change when seeing it in real life, but from here it looks a little ...Chinese
gle coupe, bmw x6 or range rover sport, one of them actually looks like an suv so i'd go for that one.
