The ability for Mercedes-Benz to seemingly have an answer for every automotive question has been further illustrated by the local launch of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe.
It’s the second SUV coupe derivative for the German manufacturer, and the fourth act of coupe-ness in the current lineup, following S-Class, GLE, C-Class and now the GLC.
The new SUV is available in three models from launch: the 125kW/400Nm 2.1-litre turbo diesel GLC220d, 155kW/350Nm turbocharged 2-litre petrol GLC250, and the 150kW/500Nm turbocharged 2.1-litre GLC250d diesel.
The 270kW/520Nm 3-litre twin-turbo V6 AMG GLC 43 Coupe will follow in February 2017, although you can get in early and order one now.

That's subjective. Mercedes LOVE to use the same headlight design for most of their models. They just move a couple lines and viola! It's a new E Class. BMW and Lexus etc. Change their exterior designs for each model. The 2015 X6 M provides a less awkward rear and bulky look than this GLC.
Better looking and cheaper. I checked out a few websites and you’ll get a GLC Coupe for way cheaper than the X4 (well at least in my country).
James, your inherit enthusiasm for this type of a car shows in all of your reviews. When I'm watching it I feel like I'm actually sussing the car for a potential purchase - in other words, keep up the good work (and ask for a promotion!). Same can be said for rest of the CA team as well.

I had an option to get the GLC coupe and the X4, i went with the X4 due to the handling, and the engine(B58 supra engine as well). X4 has a better styling, and driving dynamics, but i think later on in life i will lean to mercedes which is more luxurious and interior is better

Car looks pretty nice but its the little things that annoy me. For a merc with such a high price I really expect them to engineer the interior so that the screen, control wheel and other parts on the dash are ergonomically correct for RHD. It's just lazy and penny pinching to leave it set up for LHD. My Dualis did it so does the current mustang (cup holders and hand brake are on the wrong side of centre console). However my BMW is properly configured and engineered for LHD. I know its a 1st world problem but it's a shame MB chose to be lazy.

There are a lot of things I like about Australia but driving on the left side of the road isn't one of them.
15 seconds in I closed the video seeing that horrendous thick boarded screen they had for a decade.
The coupe looks like the X6 from the back and the normal GLC looks like a X5

GLC : not great cars in terms of value for money. Volvo's or even Toyota's are better in this segment. after adding all the safety features the price files to 60k US dollars. ( which are basic in most cars these days)

Just purchased this car and it is very embarrassing. The car can't turn properly and it is called tyre skipping. The car looks nice but it is having problems on cold days, rainy days and every u-turn or roundabout... The worst part is Mercedes denies the problem.
Please explain I'm going to go look at one might purchase one I joke I'm not sure...
The tyres get worn out very quickly. About 15000km for the front tyres to go bald. Everything else doesnt matter and you get the look in the parking lot when your car make that cranking noise when doing a full turn. Embarrassing
