    This recipe worked amazing on a large joint of topside of beef ( uk ) , I was worried sick being from the Uk where meat is very expensive to use this method at first but it worked perfectly I really appreciate all the recipe's you do videos for, sometimes they need adapting as some items we just cant get here in England but I do try and find similar . One thing I spent ages trying to figure out why I did not have a Broil function, eventually I found out that the the UK version of the Ninja Foodi does not have a Broil function it is called GRILL instead . My beef was slightly smaller than your one so I reduced time to 20 mins cook and rest and it was awesome .. Once again ty so much :). Might be an idea to mention on some broil recipes videos that other countries with Ninja may call it a Grill function . Keep on cooking !!

    One of the best recipes I had done in the ninja foodie. Cooked perfectly rare to medium and reminded me of holidays to the USA where the steaks are on another level. Used a topside roasting joint (UK) and it tasted like the slow roasted prime rib steaks I’ve had. Will definitely use this again, especially 30 minutes in the ninja has to be cheaper than 1.5 hours in the conventional oven

    Tried to do a bottom round the other day. End result was edible, and flavorful, but a little on the chewy side, at an end temp of around 135 degrees.

    I’m actually in awe as the cheap round is the toughest cut of meat on an animal, next to the flank. It has no fat and even after slow cooking for a long time,it’s still tough. A rib roast is the best and it has fat, and is priced accordingly. Unless sliced extremely thin, all you do is chew, chew, chew. I grew up on a farm and still have land,where we raised beef, pork, chickens, turkeys and pigs. I joined 4-H at eight years old and won the judging beef trophy for the next ten years. I’m so very happy that you’ve been able to rescue the round as it usually ends up in hamburger. Congratulations 🎉🎊🎈🍾 You’ve certainly earned your place in the cooking world. Thanks Louise! That’s why you’re my favorite 🤩.

      @@awendaawenda8011 That is not very accurate. We never spray at all. Let’s try 500 acres no spray. 500 acres completely free of any pesticide and synthetic fertilizer use since 1978. 100's of acres devoted to the organic production of legumes, hay and pasture, along with a 100 head cattle herd. We finish 18-24 months. True organic or I should say honest organic is what this is. We grow almost everything we eat. Not a “Fad”. I know what goes into my body. I grow our seed for next crop. Turned out perfect but I broiled (grilled) for 25 mins and it wasn't coming up to temperature (maybe I made the mistake of lifting the lid during the resting or flipping half way through) so I added another 10 mins on Roast setting and it turned out perfect. Crispy on the outside and pink in the middle (medium). Amazing! My Ninja Foodi Max just delivered 30 mins ago, washed it & dashed straight to my PC & your channel to learn how to cook my 3lb top round of yummy organic Irish grass fed beef. After much searching I've found your channel the best, most professional & intelligently presented channel for all things Ninja Foodi. Making a treat meal to counteract the dark grey gloomy London UK sky today. I'll post how it turned out. Ho & thanks for the slicing with the grain tip, all these years I never knew.

    I now have "Nancy" 14 in 1 but she doesn't have the broil function. How else can I roast my beef perfectly. Nancy came with a temp gauge. (I don't think I'm a fan of the dehydration method). Thanks in advance. Pam

    Had a nearly 10 lb sirloin tip roast and cut it into thirds. Followed you instructions (minus onion powder only because I was out, and it read amazing. I'll use onion powder next time for sure..also didn't next beef stock so I used chicken stock to deglaze and make a mock Au jius and that was good too! Will use beef next time. I shared this to my Ninja groups and subscribed to you channel. SOOO IMPRESSED!

    Air crisp / roast bake / grill

    Have you pressure cooked one these eye of rounds? I normally throw these on my pellet grill but it's put away for the winter. I've always.cut mine like it was steak in the past (some in my area would say poor or a cheap man's steak)

    • @TheSaltedPepper

      I haven't tried that, but I did PC a prime rib for a very short time, so that might work with this cut as well. Just make sure to do a short PC time followed by a full natural release. Let me know if you give it a try!

      If you can slice it thin, very thin, it will be fine as roast beef. Make sure to slice across the grain.

    Hi there great video! I picked up one of these units used from a friend so I am hoping that the cook times arent effected by moderately usage? I just did a 2.25lb sirloin tip roast. Followed your instructions 10 minute preheat on broil. 30 minute broil dont open top 30 minute stand fro medium and the internal temp is at 138? Should it be higher? I closed it again but I was hoping to get it closer to 145 degrees. How do I raise the temp more now or do I just deal with it? What did the one in the video temp go up to when you pulled it? I am one of those people who are afraid of undercooking everything heh.... :)

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  Рік тому +1

      I recommend you look at my website for the written article because it goes over more than I can in the videos. 138F for beef is going to be very close to medium and a better temperature than 145F for this cut of beef. You don't have to worry about undercooking beef (except ground beef) because if any bacteria is present, it's only on the outside. That is why it can be served rare without issues. You can always raise the temperature by cooking it longer. Here is my website if you are interested in reading about the different recipes: thesaltedpepper.com

      @@TheSaltedPepper I actually let it sit another 5 minutes and it hit 145. It was still tender and it may be one of the best roast beefs I've ever had. The family loved it. Hi I am a new subscriber! :D I love your videos for the Ninja Foodi as I just purchased mine. I was wondering if you could tell me if I am able to can food in the Ninja Foodi. If so would you consider making a how to video?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 роки тому

      I have a post on that already. Canning is such a technical process and I don't know enough about it to do any hot to's on it. I would never want someone to get misinformation or a wrong technique from me. The NF is not approved for pressure canning and the space inside does not make it that great for water bath canning either, but I have done some preserves. thesaltedpepper.com/is-it-safe-to-can-food-in-the-ninja-foodi/

    Would you do the same with a top sirloin roast that usually is more tender than a round roast?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 роки тому

      This is a top sirloin round roast, but the technique will work with any beef roast that is lean and you want to slice thin.

    • @TheSaltedPepper

      I think roasting potatoes underneath would be fine if they fit and are cut so they cook at the same time.

    I am trying to find out how to cook a frozen top round in my new ninja 8qt foodi. Is there a place I can find out how to do this????

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 роки тому

      Honestly, I would thaw it first. Lean meats like a top round don't do well cooking from frozen. The outside will overcook before the inside thaws. You can try to PC for a few minutes, do a complete natural release and then broil to get the outside done. That is my best suggestion.

    Just finished seasoning my roast for tomorrow. Since I don't trust myself to remember which way the grain goes, I decided to tie a piece of butcher's string opposite of the grain so when it came out I would know which way to slice it. Can't wait to have this tomorrow!

      Probably reduce the time after broiling by 1/4. The best way to tell if it is done to your liking is by using a thermometer.
