  • It started as a scandal in PwC’s tax division but the crisis of integrity in government consultancies has now engulfed the industry.
The Australian Government has spent billions of dollars on external contractors and consultants in recent years. But numerous allegations of unethical behaviour, which have been exposed in ongoing parliamentary inquiries, suggest major changes are needed to how the public service develops policy and conducts government work.
Greens Senator for South Australia Barbara Pocock has played a critical role in uncovering misconduct in the consulting industry. In this webinar, Senator Pocock, Democracy & Accountability Program Director Bill Browne, and Australia Institute Deputy Director Ebony Bennett had an in-depth discussion about the problematic relationship between governments and consultants, and the importance of the Senate in exposing unethical practices.

Effect of Neoliberalism and privatisation since the 90's across government.

    Who judges the Judges?
The elected Representatives who oversee The Law and make policies from what their constituents require them to police.

It is clear that the ALP and Albanese is not up to handling the corruption and resources of the Australian people. NACC is also a case as well 💥💥💥💥💥🇦🇺

Sorry , but when she mentioned Katie Gallaghers commitment to the public service I found it a bit rich. Katy Gallagher presided over the privatisation of the ACT 's disability service, the largest privatisation in the ACT's history.(along with a lot of other state govts., but hey everyone was doing it).

Independents are the only way to stop this rot, easy to corrupt a party hard to corrupt multiple Independents.

there is only one party responsible for the death of the public service sector, it was still effective before the LNP won in 2013.
Labor of course is tasked with fixing it but haven't done much to do so yet because the right wing of the party holds the balance of power and aren't interested in rocking the policy boat. I guess you could argue that cowardice is a form of corruption. in any case, Labor minority government is going to actually get stuff done because Albanese wont be beholden to the Labor right.

Are we mesnt to believe that our Government is so inept, yhey dont even know when they are spending our money and grtting nothing in return?
The complete inability of the Government to take part of the blame here is exactly why people dont yhink they can deliver anything of value.

A reminder that the recognition of Aboriginal Land in no way dispossessed any human rights to live in association with planet Earth.
Education is required to operate a fully informed self-defining Democracy and every new born anarchist-by-default Citizen will collaborate to assemble the natural heirachy of vertically integrated sense-in-common requirements, for a general understanding of what constitutes the Common Good. Rinse and repeat.

Agreed, public officials must not be lied to. Public officials, including politicians must not be allowed to deceive or lie to the public, either. Especially during elections. Yes, there are national security requirements, but the secrecy we are experiencing, from uni-party politics in Australia today, is way beyond national security and into a multitude of areas for government embarrassment.

Fines for corporations hold share holders responsible for someone elses' actions they may have no control over, the directors must also be held responsible, after all, they are the decision makers. As for fines, they should reflect serious pain when perpetrators do the cost/benefit analisys and discover they have lost multitudes of what was projected over x period of time.

Is it being suggested that consultancies are an anarchical industry that is prone to white collar crime?
