GoPro: Dunes - Sand Skiing in Peru

- Join Jesper Tjäder and Emma Dahlström as they go on an adventure through Peru and Ski on the slopes of one of the highest sand dunes in the world.
The dune of Cerro Blanco sits at roughly 2100m above sea level and requires hours of hiking in the sun to reach the top. Once at the top the dune can provide runs for over 1km, a truly unique experience in sand skiing.
Jesper and Emma take their freestyle skiing skills into a new environment and have their first ever attempt at hitting kickers and rails in the sand.

This video is a reminder to anyone complaining about the quality of the snow. No matter what it is if you are good you can ski it perfectly.
This sand is extremely fine though and is not nearly as coarse as you think it is

i ski dry slopes every week in the UK, i still won't have been on snow until April and I've already spent 75 hours on a slope, it's not the quality of the slope it's if you can use it to its full potential

Daniel Cooney I've been sandboarding in Argentina and falling isn't that bad, you don't get scraped up it's just that you hit the ground harder than in snow because the sand doesn't really compress.
Not really, the sand in the dunes they are skiing is very smooth so it doenst scrape you at all, it just a hard hit
It isnt that bad, the only problem is that you get sand everywhere and it just burns if the day has been especially hot

The one thing I'm wondering is that there are no lifts. You have to climb this entire sand dune in the heat with your gear just to make one run?

this is a million dollar business idea for somebody. Some pretty portable ski lifts, some transportation, ski rental, good marketing and maybe some rentable housing built in cargo containers. BOOM, tourists would pay some big money to experience that
