@@UnknownOwl65 the same applies to using Shrouded as CL1 in the GY then Branded in Red as CL2. Still sends to GY as cost (even considered Albaz for a card like Screams etc) while you get it in the hand for a potential discard (note thought it isn't considered Albaz in the hand)
Shoutout to Borreload Furious, love that card. The tip here is super fun in the Synchro variant when paired with Branded Beast if Furious targets your Druiswurm, then tribute Druis with Beast for basically 3 pops in one
Using Quem's (or Guignol's) both effects on the same chain effectively chainblocking the most important one is always hilarious to me. For Quem you can use something like Branded Fusion (or Cartesia) as CL1 (to remove a monster from the extra) then summon her as CL2. When this chain resolves, Quem will be on the field to "see" the monster leaving the extra deck but at the same time its on summon trigger effect can activate. So you can do CL1 send from deck then CL2 revive something (if you fear Ash) or the opposite (if you fear Belle) Guignol takes this one step further by removing itself from the field as cost, allowing it to bypass Skill Drain and dodge Veiler/Imperm. However my favorite "weird" interaction is between Mirrorjade, Kitt, and Rindbrum. If I don't want to give up a card in my hand, I can chain Mirrorjade's effect to banish as CL2 on Kitt's search effect that is CL1. Then Rindbrum can negate Mirrorjade as CL3 to prevent me from banishing a monster (along with gy setup + Mirrorjade will be live on the opponent's turn anyway) then use the optional bounce effect to return Kitt in my hand so on resolution the card returned to the deck is Kitt herself. I love recycling a banished Retribution that way
@@unamusedwaffle tbh the guignol one happens frequently, quem sometimes and Rindbrum/Kitt happened a lot when I played more bystials and 3 High Spirit but now with 2 bystials and 1 Spirit I don't remember if I ever did that play.
Hres a tip that i use when playing branded solo, NEVER USE BRANDED FUSION. This is because if it gets ashed, that your entire play done, so my tip to everyone practicing, play like they have ash blossom in hand, and try to bate it out, OR just play branded fusion last. As when i play branded, it was more helpful to set up an board then play branded fusion last. And in other cases when you have crossout or called by. Send it. But in other ways. Make sure that you get branded fusion last. It really helps (It also prepares you for the branded fusion ban, you’ll never know)
Playing brafu first or last is basically the same against ash, you can't bait her since brafu is by far the biggest target But playing it last is good in general If you have quem you can send cartesia and revive her immediately to extend further (into the puppet lock) If you have cartesia using her fusion effect before brafu allows you to fill the gy with material, so you can go for albion into whatever and do the yoinky sploinky with the bystial lubellion and get a mp3
Just wanted to say you literally taught me how to use this deck from the ground up, and I was able to get first place at a locals cause of it, thank you man 🙏
Don’t forget Brigrand the Glory Dragon that says other monsters can’t be targeted by card effect and itself can’t be destroyed by battle creating a cheeky lock if you summon 2. And grabs the best hand trap in Mercourier during the end phase it hit the grave.
Thanks man, I'm coming back to the game after being outta it for over a decade and decided to go with Branded as my deck, your videos really help me out a ton, much appreciated.
Ah, yeah, Borreaload Furious Dragon - the Spyral Sleeper of the Branded Deck. Cool that he can pop to cards and the can be protected from poking himself. Alsmost like Spyral Sleeper, just with one can less. Cool interactions. Didnn't know them. However, with the Allure+Opening you would play into droll. I don't know, if I wouldn't simply prefer to go Opening in draw phase into Aluber into Branded Fusion. (which would play into Imperm) I guess, it is nice to know, that this combo exists. Thanks man.
With borreload you can also target a monster on the field you control and later in the chain activate cartesia or branded in red fusing the monsters so it doesnt get destroyed and you get value of it
Great stuff as always! Branded's in a really solid place right now but you definitely have to pilot it well to succeed, and videos like this help a ton with that. Another neat thing with the Zealantis interruption is since it's their turn, even if they try to Promethean Princess pop your Albaz, they'll be cl1 and Albaz will be cl2, so it can still fuse.
There's a way to play through Ash on Branded Fusion with Nadir that just requires Sprind in the Extra Deck. Very useful if you can't afford Thrust. Activate Nadir to dump Sprind and add Albaz. In the Draw Phase, activate Branded in Red to add Albaz, fuse into Lubellion with Albaz and Kitt and then use Lubellion to make Mirrorjade with Albaz and Albion

The phoenix triggers when a fire monster pops on your field so its after princess resolves on a separate chain. Cl1 princess cl 2 quaritis. If they wait. Then cl 1 princess cl 2 albaz. If they wait again and you dont fuse off their only fire monster. Then cl1 princess cl2 mirrorjade?(most likely). Im not 100% but i think thats how it would go. Regarding the Branded in high spirits / Shrouded Albion combo. Isn’t shrouded Albion considered “revealed” by card verification mechanics thus you can not ”reveal” shrouded again with High spirits in the same chain?
No it’s not the effect doesn’t require you to reveal it You can activate shrouded under clear world with a light which makes you play with hand revealed but you can’t activate couplet
If you're playing against branded and they have a full field of dragons and albaz, could you just send their whole field to grave to contact fuse? And if so, would that trigger mirajade?
Mirrorjade isn’t a dragon but if they control albaz and 1+ dragons then yeah you can just use all of their stuff the same way you can just fuse only opponents monsters with super poly
Can contact fusion happen during your opponents turn? Also broski when you activate Albion in hand and chain high spirt or opening wouldn’t Albion go to the bottoms of the deck and you draw a card after chain link 2 resolves from the spell card?
I know Branded Lost is such a shitty card to argue about, but I’m gonna fire a question about it because I wanna see if I’m wrong… You say that Fusion Dup being CL1 means that the next chain won’t be protected by Lost, but I don’t think that’s true. Lost’s protection kicks in on the next chain when the last thing to resolve was the fusion summon of a monster. If fusion dup targets a BF in the GY, then the last thing to happen on that chain is the fusion summon off of BF, and therefore Lost protects it. I’m like 10,000% percent sure that’s how that works…
@@unamusedwaffleI think you may be right. I also was confused when he said it wouldn’t be protected. The only thing I can assume is that maybe the last thing to occur was a copy effect and not a fusion effect. I could see this go either way and I haven’t had luck finding verified answers.
@@Deathbane_123 yeah, it’s definitely a copy effect on activation - same reason you can’t ash it, but it takes on the effect on res, and regardless the last thing to resolve is the monster’s fusion summon…
@@unamusedwaffleupon further investigation, Galzo is correct. It will not be protected. The reason, is that branded lost doesn’t just check for a fusion summon, it checks for an effect to fusion summon.
