How polite you are! I'm impressed. Many youtubers from other country bring their cameras to the rides and take extremely dangerous shots(360-degree cameras, selfie sticks, etc.). Thank you Chris.Have fun!
I just want you to know that for some of us who live alone away from friends and family, you are sometimes the only person who we hear lovely things from ❤
Don't ever stop telling people things will get better, we need to hear it and YOU are a wonderful amazing person for reminding us we're important
Sheep, u said it wonderful. u said it for me as well. now some love from me to u
@@allanhome right back at ya! ❤️
I will 2nd your statement! I do really Ike that part about Chris! I have my friends and family. But I also can appreciate those pep talks from Chris!
Everyone here is so sweet and it really lightened my heart to read all your comments. Y'all really do make this world a better place 🤗
As shown on 5:43 where monsters inc rod and go seek is now that ride used to be called meet the world and it was originally for epcot. Meet the World (ミート・ザ・ワールド, Mīto za Wārudo) was an attraction at Tomorrowland in Tokyo Disneyland that operated from 1983 until 2002.[1] It was a show that explored the history of Japan over the course of 19 minutes, focusing specifically on the history of Japan's engagement with the outside world. The show featured an animated crane explaining Japanese history to a young boy and girl from Yokohama. The show featured dialogue between a number of audio-animatronic figures (including Sakamoto Ryōma, Itō Hirobumi and Fukuzawa Yukichi) and a movie screen in the background. Park guides and maps said "explore Japan's heritage in an incredible time-travel adventure!"
The show was presented in a rotating theater, similar to the Carousel of Progress at Walt Disney World and previously at Disneyland. However, they were designed in the opposite way. In Tokyo, the audiences sat in the rotating theater inside with the stages built around them, whereas, in the Carousel of Progress the audience sits in the rotating outside with the stages being the center of the building. Meet the World's layout meant less audience capacity but a larger stage area, while Carousel of Progress's format has more capacity but smaller stages.
The "Meet The World" song was written by the Sherman Brothers. The attraction was designed by WED Enterprises Imagineer Claude Coats. The Animatronics and Show Action Equipment were built at Walt Disney World's Central Shops in Florida (adjacent to the huge carriages for Epcot's American Adventure attraction being built at the same time.) The show scenes were staged at the WED facility in North Hollywood for integration and show programming. The crane character was animated by Disney animator Randy Cartwright. The attraction had over thirty Audio Animatronic figures, nine 70 millimeter projectors and 15 large pieces of show action equipment. There were two large Stewart rear projection screens and three proscenium filling perforated "scrim/screens." The figures were sculpted by Blaine Gibson with the exception of the three Meiji figures who were sculpted in Glendale by a Japanese sculptor from Toho Studios in Tokyo. The show opened with two young children from Yokohama discussing the ancient creation of Japan. Soon, an anthropomorphic crane appeared to tell them the whole story. She took them back through time to uncover the ancient Jōmon people and the difficult relationship they encountered with the sea and land. But it changed in the next era when Prince Shōtoku devoted his efforts to 'meet the world' and created a constitution, explored Chinese culture and brought Buddhism, arts and writing systems to Japan. The crane then took them forward through time.
They arrived at Tanegashima where Portuguese traders met with locals, introducing Japan to new trade opportunities as well as the outside world. Additionally, firearms and Christianity were introduced during this period. However, because of these elements, the Sakoku policy of self-exile was enacted, leaving the country in isolation, apart from limited trade with the Dutch and Chinese at Nagasaki. Only when US Navy Commodore Matthew C. Perry arrived with his Black Ships did the exile end and Japan 'meet the world' again. The shogun retired and signaled the time of the Meiji Restoration. However, the ruling power took the idea of 'meet the world' from a peaceful one to a destructive and aggressive one. As a result, Japan soon entered "dark days", but the crane reassured the two children that those days have ended and that Japan now led the way of today.
The young boy asked the crane if she was the "Spirit of Japan", but she responded that he and all the other people were the "Spirit of Japan". A final montage of Japan's modern accomplishments brought the show to a close as the children and the crane soared to the skies on a hot-air balloon. Many attractions, including Meet the World, were originally planned as part of the Japan (Epcot) Pavilion in World Showcase at Epcot in Orlando, Florida. Unlike the other attractions that did not make it past the planning stages, Meet the World's show building was constructed with the theater to be on the second floor. However, due to miscalculations made in the building's design, the rotating theater put a lot of stress on the support beams. In order for the attraction to be able to function safely, the show building would have to have major rework done. As Epcot's construction was behind schedule, it was decided to move forward without the attraction. Today, the current space is used for rehearsals and storage.
Konosuke Matsushita, founder of the Matsushita Electric Industrial Company, had a strong interest in Japanese history and in Walt Disney's visions and pressed Disney to create a Japanese analog of the American "Hall of Presidents" attraction.
Among other issues, certain politically sensitive issues such as World War II were noticeably under-emphasized in the show. The show mentions that there were some "dark days" between the Meiji Restoration and the "Japan of today", which left Disney management feeling nervous about possible reactions from guests (specifically American veterans and other groups) over such a dramatic conflict in history being 'glossed over' as 'dark days', despite other attractions in the Disney canon having unbiased references to the same time period. Concept art and models were featured in the 1982 book "Walt Disney's EPCOT Center", along with a proposed Africa pavilion. The English soundtrack of the ride had surfaced on a tribute video, where it was edited with footage from the version seen in Tokyo Disneyland.[2]
The attraction opened at Tokyo Disneyland as one of that park's initial attractions on April 15, 1983, and closed on June 30, 2002. Matsushita Electric was its initial sponsor and subsidized the attraction so that it was one of the few free attractions while the park still used ride tickets. Konosuke Matsushita died in 1989 and Matsushita shifted its corporate sponsorship to the nearby Star Tours attraction around that time; Japan Airlines then took over sponsorship of Meet the World for a short period.
In summer 2006, Meet the World's show building was demolished to make way for Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek.
Meet the World was one of the few attractions in the park that dealt with Japan; the other was a film, "The Eternal Sea", found in the future Magic-Eye Theater. The Oriental Land Company, the owners of Tokyo Disneyland, specifically wanted their park to focus on the American way of life and the American parks of Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
You have been working very hard to get these videos out to us, we see you putting in those hours. WE appreciate you!!! Thank you, Chris :)
Absolutely!! 🤗
14:08 the wall of Pooh 😂
“Big Pooh” got a big laugh. You’re a hit with our family. 🤩❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your Tokyo Disney adventures with us, Chris! 🤗 I am a huge advocate for the Happy Ride with Baymax as a must ride. It’s a simple ride but the VIBE is unbeatable. For each song on the ride, there is a corresponding dance that the cast members and a lot of people in line/on the ride do. It was an unforgettable experience ❤️😭
I love how you read all the monsters notes! The kids who can't read & their parents will really appreciate you!
When I went to Disneyland Paris in 1996 I remember feeling like I was having one of those dreams where I knew where I was but everything was slightly different. It felt surreal. I was so used to going to Disneyland in Anaheim and I knew I was in Paris but something felt off. I remember coming off of the Haunted Mansion ride wondering what I just witnessed. I was expecting the original but felt like I actually descended into Hell by the end of it. i had to ride it a few more times to realize I wasn't in Kansas anymore. Must be a trip to go to a whole new Disney park after going to Disney World, Disneyland and Disney Paris and trying to adjust to the whole "Same but different" experience. So much fun!
Chris, i don't think I'm wonderful, special, or any of the other nice things you say. But i still smile when you say it because you believe that about me and that's enough to keep me here for another day😊
the cast members are really something over at Tokyo Disney! They really make you feel the Magic ✨ at Disney Sea they stood on the side walk holding Duffy and friends plushies so they can give high 5’s as you walk along ☀️
Hello! I love Disney vlogs and I'm a huge fan of the Tracker family as well but Chris keeps it real real. Thank you for sharing you vulnerabilities and also cheering the rest of us on too. I often watch Disney vlogs when I'm having a tough time in life so thank you for being there for us all.
At 16:15 is a highlight of Chris' video's. The Pep talk! Chris if you see this, know that I appreciate you buddy! Thank you for being who you are!
My highest compliments to you Chris on your respect of protocols when visiting other countries, showing your appreciation of cast members at the parks, and you have a great talent of giving more indepth details of the rides to compliment the areas of filming allowed!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I also have to agree that Beauty and the Beast Ride is my favorite ride with its impressive and immersive special effects at Tokyo Disney!! 🌹🥰🎉
Beauty and the beast looks amazing!!!
I just came back from a Tokyo trip a few days ago and went for both Tokyo Disney and DisneySea right out the gate.
The rides Chris recommends are a must if you're visiting and are worth the wait! Especially true with Big Thunder, I didn't expect to like it more than the one back home in Anaheim. I'm already planning my trip again and I can't wait to go back if time permits
(Side note: if I only knew you were in Tokyo Chris at the parks I would love to have said hi to you)
It's so amazing all our positive vibes got you a beautiful sunny day. It was a bummer seeing it raining, but you still had a wonderful time, "canoe" do it again.
I’m glad that Tokyo Disneyland is keeping their version of Splash Mountain! I have an imaginary proposed Disney theme park resort with a Magic Kingdom park and I will also keep Splash Mountain as it is, as well as all references to Song of the South.
I absolutely Loved Both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea! Trip of a lifetime, I wanna go back!
Wow that Beauty and the Beast ride looks amazing! I wish that was at Disneyland Anaheim!
We appreciate all that you're doing! That giant book outside Pooh's Hunny Hunt is incredible...
Love the picture you took on Slash Mountain. If your gonna take a picture, by golly your gonna take a picture. Love it
Oh, man! I want to ride all the Thunder Mountains! The Winnie the Pooh sounds great, too.
I’m glad it’s not raining this day!
The park looks beautiful and clean.
THANK U FOR LETTING US LIVE THROUGH YOUR EYES. THIS IS A PLACE WE COULD NEVER GO TO. CHRIS, U ALWAYS MAKE US SMILE. U ARE THE BEST. MORE DAD JOKES PLEASE. ALL THE EXTRA FACTS U DELIVER, ARE AMAZING. LORD KNOWS HOW MUCH HOMEWORK U MUST DO. U ARE A TOP NOTCH MAN
Big Thunder…..hands down!
I agree with the canoes having the best cast members I am bias I worked the canoes at Disneyland in the early eighties great videos Chris thank you safe travels.
Hi Chris! You are doing such a great job in Tokyo! All of the attractions sound like fun to do! I would like them all, I’m sure😁 Thank you Chris for all you do🤗
What Rides We'd Want To Go On: Yes, all of them!
Also I love pooh!! You should love him he represents friendship and all good things. And yes your are funny :)
Hunny hunt is so much fun. One of my favorite rides at any Disney. You should try all the popcorns, too.
Konnichiwa! What a beautiful day! Always fun “traveling “ with you! Great video! Thank you 😊 have fun!!
I love winnie the pooh honey hunt because you bounce around with tigger, the Cinderella castle walk around attraction and the beauty and the beast enchanted tale.
I would definitely have to do the beauty and beast ride first. Then Poo Bear. Such a great trip. I'm about to head over the beauty and beast video .😊
Thanks Fred!! Your pep talk gets me every time!! Love what you do keep it going!! 😊
These are all a must but I also suggest 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea because it is very different than any other submarine or underwater ride in any of the parks
Splash Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland... at least one has not gone 😢 away
The Japanese Disney fans love Song of the South and Splash Mountain! 💦⛰🐰🦊🐻
I am LOVING these videos from Japan! The canoe song at the end of this video is the best part! It made me laugh out loud for real and that's something for me lately!
#1 Canoes!!!!
I can't wait. I will be there with my wife and 9yr old June 1st. First time to Japan for us.
Beast castle! 😎
So...Mr ChrisTickle Pics you found an actor that does his own Craft Services...that would be fun....
Thank you so much Amazing Chris Provost...
Great video as always Chris. Always fun to watch, but especially in Tokyo! A bucket list trip for sure.
I would absolutely love to have the Beauty and the Beast ride in Florida.
Your love for Canoes makes me smile. I’m hoping to get to Tokyo some day! Your solo trip is inspiring me to just go for it! Thank you!
I have never been, but I would love to go to the Beauty and the Beast one.
THANK YOU for being a great example that most Americans are polite and nice! And to answer your question, “Am I funny?”, yes you are funny. 😂
Thank you! 😃
Glad the weather improved for you 😁
Thank you so much for these videos! ❤
Thank you for great videos!
I love how you say Hephalumppalooza instead of hephalump and Woozles :)
This was fantastic thank you!
Thank you so much for taking time out of your trip to put these wonderful videos together! I hope that you've been able to enjoy yourself. And embrace every moment during your visits.
Thank you, for making me feel better! 💜
Thank you Chris for all your hard work and videos.
Always ❤️your videos !
Your videos have convinced me to go! Thank you so much for the best overview of the parks!
Once again a wonderful video Chris. So glad the sun came out. Tokyo Disneyland is just beautiful. 💖
Lovely vid in lovely weather! Great video Chris & Co.!
Tokyo Disneyland looks amazing. Thanks for sharing Chris!
Chris, thank you for the great video.
Great Video Provost
Thanks Chris 👍🏼💕
Hi Chris. Great videos from your trip to Tokyo Disney! ❤
The animatronics on that Beauty and the Beast ride seem next level!!!
Thank you so much for this video, all of your content is great! I enjoy it so much c:
You are amazing you make my day better
I love your videos! Have never been to Japan but your video makes me want to go see Disneyland and DianeySea!
This is one disney park I would happily visit. Great stuff Chris!
I am loving your Tokyo Disney Series! I have a Tokyo trip planned for April of 2025 and these videos are so helpful and I am so excited to go! Thank you for the great content!
I agree with number 3! I am so jealous that Disneyland's is not like this.
You have had such an amazing time. I have been loving all the videos. You are the best Chris. Thank you. Cathy Koala Cat
Wow. I didn’t realize how similar Disneyland and Tokyo Disney were. Just as a suggestion because I know it’s frustrating when you can’t film. I’ve seen other content creators use clips of official videos of a ride when they aren’t allowed to record with caption “courtesy of…”. I have no idea what doing that actually involves for permission, cost and time, but just thought I’d throw it out there. Love you guys!
Beauty and the Beast would be the first ride I would go on! That is definitely my all time favorite movie!! I'm so glad you got to film on the ride! Thanks for taking us along with you!
Chris once again another masterpiece video!! The rides you had in your Top 5 are pretty much the same as mine. And I also had the same impression when I first rode Pooh on opening day 2000. The Tigger scene just blew me away. Such simple effects are often the best ones. And thank you for showcasing and respecting the CMs. The Beaver Brothers canoe cast in the back corner of the park doesn't get much exposure but they are some of the craziest, in a good way, from what I've heard. Also, Tokyo Disney is very inconsistent with their attraction filming rules. They seem to change them and enforce them arbitrarily. But thank you for respecting the attraction CMs' requests. Glad you had a sunny day at the park finally!
Thanks! Chris! Now I want to go to Tokyo Disney!
They all look like GREAT rides, I'd like to do them all. :)
Now I wanna ride the canoes when I visit next month
Happy to hear splash is going to still be open! Will be there end of September and was bummed I’d miss it due to the refurb the other parks are doing. Thanks for this video!
Oh yes awesome top rides - just loved your canoeing experience the cast members are so awesome
When I went to Tokyo Disney back in 2008, I remember going on Splash Mountain with my friends~ And then later on when I went on it at the Anaheim Disneyland I was all confused about how the logs were single instead of double, lol
Honourable mention: Popcorn buckets!
Looks like you got to the park on a sunny day after all! Hooray!
That pep talk at 16:00 was awesome, thanks for that. ♥
Beauty and the Beast! Me and the wife would ride it 3 times in 1 day😅
Those assorted cases full of cookies or crackers are a sort of standard gift unit for when you are visiting or entertaining visitors. It's a whole thing in Japan.
Pardon my curiosity - if you receive a gift of cookies like that, do you then open them and share them with your host, or do they get politely taken home?
@@BellePullman In my very limited experience, they don't even get closely looked at during the social event.
I want to go to Toyko Disney just for the Beauty and the Beast ride
I love that you stay respectful of the culture and practices of the culture you are in. We Americans tend to forget how loud and bombastic we are. Sometimes we can't help ourselves (like when we see an awesome marching band!) but at least you are trying. I have a question though, I saw a few people in wheelchairs but I saw no mobility scooters. Are they not allowed or just not used there?
I love canoes!!
I’m here for all the Poo jokes!!
So great to see you at TDR. I was there in 2019 and Monsters Inc and Pooh's Hunny Hunt were my 2 favorites of the park. I only had the 1 day so I hope to go back to see Disney Seas. Hope the rest of your Japan trip is as delightful as you are.
I've never been but I would LOVE to get on that Beauty and the Beast ride. That's been my favorite movie/princess forever! I also LOVED Winnie the Pooh growing up and still do so I'd love to see what that one looks like as well.
July 17, 1989 for Disneyland splash mountain magic kingdom splash mountain is October 2, 1992 Tokyo Disneyland opened first before magic kingdom which is October 1st of 1992.
Another great Tokyo video!!! My #1 pick would have to be….Canoes !!!!! 😊 the cast members were fantastic! Although Beaty and the Beast looks really cool. My family is deciding on Tokyo or Paris Disney for nx yr vacay
My sister was there many years ago Minnie wore a kimono
Chris, thanks for sharing the top 5 best attractions at TokyoDisney!! You have been doing such an incredible job at getting these videos on the YT platform so well!! I would choose Beauty And The Beast attraction out of all of them to ride. What I really like about it is the preshow in front of the staircase. I look forward to watching more Disney content from PPP as always
I am a wdw person based on my location. I went to Disneyland recently. I loved Thunder better at dland because it was much smoother. But splash at wdw was better to me because of the log car and while the one hill was more fun at dland the casual pace and story made me like it more. I hope Tiana which I am excited about doesn't change that.
So excited to go there next year! I think I’m going to have to go a full week to do everything. I will probably dedicate a whole day for multiple rides on Splash and I also want to see Tokyo Disney Sea and Fantasy Springs once it opens!
Chris such a wonderful day and it was so bright and sunny ☀️ what a great day to share what you thought were the 5 best attractions and I will say your picks were amazing because the attractions you picked will make anybody happy when they ride them and yes your so right the canoes should be number 1 also the canoe cast members rock so happy and cheerful as well as all the other cast members that are amazing anyways it was a great day well spent with my friend Chris thanks for making my day buddy
now with that peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Chris and I’ll see you on the next awesome Provost Park Pass adventure peace ☮️ out ✌️
