    I'll bet that'd be double excellent if served on an onion roll.

    Looks great, Michael! Wish I was there to eat it with you! I'm always looking for new crock pot recipes. I love recipes that have a tomato undertone. YUM!🤤
    And this is why I love cooking channels.....I never thought of using French Onion Soup in recipes! Usually I chop onions or use the dry Lipton Onion Soup Mix packet. Now I have something new to try!

    Oh, my, that looks so good! I have never done it in the crockpot. Usually brown them in the dutch oven with onions and pour hot water over it! Good old recipe from the 70's!

      Yes, water works! Many people think you have to use milk or something else when making a gravy. Thank you Barb!

    This looks wonderful. I've seen cube steaks all my life and never knew what to do with them. And I love Crock Pot meals. This is getting made next week with mashed potatoes or noodles. Screw the veg. Love it...thanks!

      Thank you and I hope you do make this one! Noodles would be good but I prefer mashed potatoes and green beans :-)
      Cube Steaks are also good for Chicken Fried Steaks, something I have never shared yet. I will sometime though. There is plenty plenty of gravy for noodles though.

    Yum! I did the same thing to a roast, recently, overcooked it in the crockpot. Still good but a little mushier than I would have liked. This is a great recipe, I can tell. I'll have to look for cube steaks the next time I go shopping.

      Thank you Marc! I got these from Walmart. The time before this I did go to my small butcher shoppe and their price was up to $7.99 per pound. Walmart was $4.98 per pound. I've made this using one pound of them. Then I freeze the gravy for other use and for soups as well.

    I love cubed steak and mashed potatoes!! I have all the ingredients on hand except for the 2 cans of soup. Adding them to my grocery order. I always have a packet of AuJus on hand to add to roasts and vegetable soup

      Thank you oldladytoofast! I think this would be good as well using Beefy Mushroom Soup in place of the Cream of Chicken. But I have never tried that and always use the chicken soup.

    If you use cream of mushroom soup instead of Cream of chicken…it’s better…plus ya don’t need to use the corn starch at all! Gravy thickens up nicely! And I use beef broth instead of water

    Do you buy the tomato paste like that?

    • @MichaelsHomeCooking
      @MichaelsHomeCooking  3 роки тому +2

      I buy the 6 ounces cans of tomato paste. Once I open the can I take a spoon and put Tablespoons of it into baggies and freeze it. I don't go to pains and make sure it is an exact Tablespoon, just wing it.
