All of the dresses are fine for a teenager. Get a dress and go enjoy your teen years.
Some of those "back in the day" styles, will be classics, and can be replayed again and again, especially with the right accessories.
I liked all of them for a teenaged girl. The “church” dress needs a large black belt, some chunky knee high boots, and some dark lipstick!
I actually really like the one with the black sparkly overlay -- if it was accessorized, belted, and better quality.

As someone who asked a large group of high schoolers coming home from a school dance on the ferry if the dance was 90's or 2000's themed because of their clothes. Some of the dresses you said look dated are 100% what they are wearing. That glitter bodycon with some clear heels, butterfly clips, and body glitter and you have most of what I was seeing on these high schoolers.
i liked the sparkly dress that they said was the worst & 1,000% a teen would wear that to homecoming 😭

The "metallic fibre" is also known as "Lurex". This particular fabric has been around since forever and is a staple in evening wear, and surprisingly, never seems to date. The garment style may, but the fabric?... Never!! Just ask any 70s Disco Queen or 80s Jazz Ballet aficionado...😆🤣

I actually like the black overlay one, but it just makes me want to wear my modcloth spiderweb dress that's a similar style but better quality and a little more edgy.

My homecoming is literally on the 3rd week of school. I was gonna find a dress off Amazon, but it wouldn't get here in time. I was actually looking at a couple of these dresses, and I'm glad I didn't get them. Thank you girls!

I laugh so hard at these types of videos! Every channel completely forgets about dress codes and that they are talking about minors. None of these dresses would be allowed.
I think they think life is like Euphoria. I graduated a long time ago and I even I know you can’t wear those to a school function.
Have yall seen the dresses kids wearing tho backless high slit and everything like I watch a few kids showing they homecoming dress and they don't follow dress code at all
not every school has strict dress codes - at the high school I graduated from any one these would have been perfectly acceptable. as long as you weren't wearing booty shorts pretty much anything was fine - crop tops, cleavage, mini skirt, slits, spaghetti straps
The “church” dress was a staple in a teens closet in 2010 😂

Women in their 30's trying on dresses meant for an event for 17 year olds...while holding them to the quality standard that women in their 30's have isn't really fair. Obviously a $37 is going to look a little cheap. It IS cheap. It's meant for a teenager.
I love this channel & the girls are so funny & always seem so lovely but this one definitely got me. I’m from the U.K. so we don’t have homecoming , we have a very low scale prom but that’s it. Seeing these dresses first of all I’m like erm I swear I see American teens mentioning dress coding constantly so where are these teeny tiny fairly revealing for a kid dresses getting approved for one , but also like you say they’re affordable ! When I was 16 going to prom my mum (single parent) couldn’t afford the crazy prices of prom dresses my friends were buying so I picked the cheapest dress I could find which turned out to be a knee length black number for like £25 so maybe $28 ish give or take a little , I was happy with it as it was my first ever dress dress, I was glad my mum didn’t break the bank (also told her I didn’t want any allowance the week after to help save extra money) , I hope that if there’s any teens watching this who liked any of the dresses they weren’t put off over the cheap comments coz I actually liked all of them in their own way and they’d look beautiful with the right shoes accessories and hair & make up! 🥺 Definitely not criticising Jackie or Sinead but I do think sometimes they forget the target audience for some videos , cheap gets thrown around a lot and not always for the right reasons

@@CaseyJayy92 you know, I didn’t even think about that until you mentioned it-but yes, my school let us wear dresses that _definitely_ went *against* our school’s dress code. I’m from the south in the states so typically all homecoming and prom dresses worn are _usually_ floor length. But all of mine were definitely spaghetti straps, which, was of course, not allowed during school hours but perfectly fine for a dance held after hours in the _school_ gym. 🤷🏻♀️ My senior prom was in 2006 and that’s right around the time when the two-piece formal dress was trendy, so a lot of girls in my grade even wore cropped prom dresses. [most *_definitely_* against school dress code] 😂 My parents would’ve _never_ allowed for me to show my stomach but apparently the spaghetti straps, knee high slit, and even a plunging neckline that was my senior prom dress _wasn’t_ a problem for them. 😆 But, thankfully, they did draw the line at a crop top prom dress and I’m glad. I didn’t have boobs at that time, anyway, so the plunging neckline, even now, is fairly classy compared to some of my other classmates’ prom dresses. 🤭

The ruched dresses you all said were dated are what 90% of the 13-14 year old girls in my area wore to 8th grade formal in April 2023.
Huh??? That first dress is perfect for a teenager in concept, especially with the dress codes that exist out there. I really do think episodes like this would benefit from a young 20-something being part of the production in order for you guys to get a reality check; otherwise maybe just stick to dresses for college students/other adults

its a highshool dance in North America, usually at the end of September or beginning of October. It's less formal than prom so girls usually dont wear full length gowns, but more knee length party dresses.
