Yes. The first movie was flawless and so realistic. When Helen tells her son how in real life bad people kill kids stunted, it broke my heart and was so fact based. I remember thinking no other movie came close to presenting that idea.

I was annoyed by how Dash, was sidelined in this movie. Every other character got development in this movie, except him. Even the minor secondary characters like that purple haired void girl got more character growth than him.
SomeFriendlessBastard I think that’s perfectly fine. In the last movie violet was sidelined so it only makes sense she gets more of the spotlight than him in this one
Violet was never sidelined in the first movie. She had as much screen time as him and had a whole character arc around being confident not only in her powers but in herself.
I agree with Chris. The villain of this movie was weaker. I find it hard to understand her motives. The explanation of how her parents are killed that made her wants vengeance was not too good, not too emotional. It could've been better, I guess. Other than that, this movie is as incredible as the first one. I enjoyed so much. The entire movie was not boring at all.
I hated the give away line "I'm the genius behind the genius. I know every film that has a twist villian plot can't be a good as the usual suspects but pixar could've been creative.
I think they actually had a good idea behind her motives. The idea of humans becoming weak by being dependent on Supers is actually something that makes for a good statement. It's just that the execution could probably have been better.
TheFikri136 I instantly knew she was the villain, as soon as she was introduced I leaned over and told my friend that she's going to be the twist villain
Emi Grant I liked her motive, too. I knew what was up once they unmasked the decoy, but I think it played out alright. I thought Elastigirl merc'd her on the plane, but having her save the villain's life and the villain needing to deal with that is a decent message as well.
I was laughing so hard at what the mom did because it was so crazy, and then at the end, I had tears in my eyes! Really good, really touching. Ol white girl can pinch those dumplings like a pro
It’s so weird because even though screenslaver was worst than syndrome the motivation was so much better and darker. This villain actually had a compelling reason whereas syndrome was just obsessed, but his obsession is what makes him so evil. 😫Ugh, I just think screenslaver could have been so iconic if fleshed out and more sinister.
jalyn jones syndrome was fantastic. He's a fanboy who feels betrayed and declares war on what he once loved. Exactly what star wars "fans" are doing now. It was ahead of it's time and very relevant now.
Jake Tibbs not only that but I think he feels envy for not being a super which is why he says “when everyone is super no one will be”. I still think screenslaver’s motivation was better though
I liked the idea of the Villain and it’s presentation however the lack of complexity within his/her reveal was very disheartening, and it truly would have made for a better film if they got it right
I dunno, I think with The Incredibles it works better as more of a family superhero movie, emphasis on the family, all the interactions between the family members is what makes the film, I mean they could fight 4 generic bad guys per movie but if they nail the family interactions then it's golden
Everyone's down on the villain, but I honestly don't get it. The trauma of a break in and having your parents die is going to cause serious issues. That is a really strong motivation for a villain.
RedfurredPikachu The villain to me is not weak but the setup is. It’d been more convincing if we’d seen the flashback of the parents getting killed from the daughter’s perspective perhaps while she was hiding in a closet. That’d have built up the trauma a lot more vividly. But again it’s meant to be a wholesome movie so that’d be too grim for the kids in the audience.
Paul Nguyen "too grim for the kids". Then ask the kids to fuck off. Look at kung fu panda 2 where they show lord shen destroying the panda's village. I bet disney don't have the balls
I think, for the "feminist" part, actually the movie kinda against it. At first, we see that Helen looked more superior than her husband and Evelyn to her brother. But, in the end, the villain is Evelyn (woman). Bob, who was underestimated before, actually could get the job done. Evelyn's brother also could save the day by doing what he can. He chosed to be a good person. So, regardless of the gender, you are good if you choose to be a good and responsible person. Regardless of the gender, it's Elastigirl who's he best in taking care of the villain, that's why Bob trusted her to do that until the end.
Andika Hilman Finally, someone gets it! :D And I also like how they didn’t bring race into it, proving that women aren’t a minority like so many feminists and antifeminists think they are. :)
Andika Hilman I think you’re confusing showing a strong capable woman AND a strong capable man is somehow not feminist. Feminism means that both men and women are EQUAL. Even when the villain was trying to undermine their relationship - their bond is strong because they believed in each other and no one is superior to the other. They are a team.
I am as conservative as it gets but didn't see this as "Feminist" propaganda. It made sense to have the less destructive superhero be the star trying to change the law for superheros to become legal, it just so happened that the less destructive superhero was a female. It was not like Star-Wars The Last Jedi that pandered to "Female power" Without logic or reason. In all honesty I felt this was more of a Family orientated messaged than a Feminist message, but thats just my Opinion. MAGA!!! 2020.
I personally thought the villian and their motivation was the weakest part of the movie. I figured them out right away. Also I never really got attached to the newer supers.
And they were poorly designed. Something is off abt the character designs in the sequel. It looked more dreamworkish than retro UPa like in the first movie.
Zaxor Von Skyler yeah, the villian was my biggest gripe with the film, kinda dragged down Elastigirl's parts towards the middle but other than that I really liked it. The newer supers were definitely secondary characters, they didn't have a huge role and I think that was intentional
SPOILERS I completely agree that the villain was obvious. She was always put in the foreground, in the shadows. That, and her name, Evelyn Devor, is a pun on Evil Endeavor. However, I really liked her motivation. The fact that people are becoming too reliant on technology is actually a growing issue, and I actually agreed with some of her reasoning. The screenslaver may not be as strong a villain as Syndrome, but I really like how she was portrayed.
Her points behind her motives especially the part when Screen slaver was speaking on the media about people's dependant issues and relying too much on technology and Superheroes when Elastigirl was looking for Screenslaver was actually really critical and hard hitting that its actually discomforting (and it should be) I think people are really just biased to call this a good movie atleast
Yeah you're right. Evelyn had a point with her motivation, that people depend way too much on technology/superheros. And yeah it was hinted at the beginning that she's going to be the villain. But honestly, Incredibles 1 did exactly the same, when this blond little fan boy (who later becomes Syndrome) with his little inventions, got rejected by Mr. Incredible rejected, he mumbles something about surpassing him in the future with an evil look on his face (so it was quite clear who is going to be villain and what's the reason for his actions). That's why it's so dumb when people complain about the villain being to obvious in the second movie, when exactly the same didn't bother them in the first movie. And compared to Syndrome Evelyn had more reason behind her motivation than just being a sour obsessed fan boy, she lost her parents because they relied to much on technology and superheros, so she had an actual motivation, to make people take care of their own safety without and not giving your life in some strangers hands.
I saw it at an early screening last night, but I still cannot get over a certain plothole in the the story: THEY NEVER CAUGHT THE UNDERMINER. THEY FORGOT ABOUT HIM.
The Rosa Show: WWE i feel the same way. This movie is missing the emotional core of the original, and this is an issue with Pixar sequels that arent Toy Story; they lack the heart and emotional drive of the original film. This movie wasnt bad, but honestly i took more away emotionally from the preceding short than the actual film. It was entertaining but not a classic, which the first is.
I remember dressing up as Dash when I was 8 and now I'm nearly 22. Incredibles and Toy Story were always my ultimate favorite Pixar movies. I loved this movie! An instant classic.
It's almost like all film reviews are stylized and heavily formatted opinion pieces based primarily on the opinions and tastes of their reviewers and aren't necessarily indicative of personality flaws in the reviewers?
BTQBCT Im just saying its interesting. For example one of the biggest gripes YMS had is that the movie treat you like a stupid. But chris says the exact opposite thing.
YMS is a tryhard pessimist. He succeeds in every way to ruin a moment of enjoying something. His involvement with the Sardonicast podcast is hindering me from enjoying it. He dislikes more than he likes.
I LOVED this movie!! It’s not absolutely perfect like its predecessor .. but it’s one of Pixar‘s absolute best. Chris is right the movie looks absolutely mesmerizing.
**SPOILER ALERT** Agreed, I was hoping that Dicker would be the villain tbh. He'd have a better motive and be a better curveball. For example, he wants superheroes to return so why not create an enemy that only they can defeat! It'd work even better if they had the sister actually working for Dicker, with the reveal of him being top dog later in the plot. Man, bummer that would've been awesome.
Filmatic Pictures I thought it was both the brother and the sister, with the brother being the guy with the motive and the girl being the technical mastermind. Basically, as soon as they are introduced, you can instantly tell that one or both of them will turn out to be a villain.
My main issues with this movie was that violet reverted back to a shy and insecure girl when by the end of the first movie she was confident and assertive. Also by the end of the first movie you get the impression that the family works together as a cohesive team whereas in the opening sequence of the second movie they're unorganised uncommunicative.
I know I'm 2 years late on this, but I do wanna offer some counter arguments. You first point about Violet. IMO, she was not reverted back to a shy and insecure girl. She was assertive and confident. Had she not been, she wouldn't have confronted Tony about standing her up. She never felt insecure to me or shy. Your second point that they worked together as a cohesive team. I'll point out that Helen actively gave Violet and Dash jobs. Keep the crowds back and safe and to watch after Jack Jack while she and Bob go after The Underminer. Both of whom, being kids, refused to do. First chance they get, they abandon those jobs. Disobeying clear orders like that will throw off any team cohesion. Then there's the fact that even when they first started fighting against the big threat in the city. The Omnidroid, they do struggle at first to find a weakness. But then Bob finds Syndrome's remote and everything changes. Then he remembers the only thing strong enough to penetrate it is itself. That's when the cohesion comes together. Very similarly, at the climax of the second film, the kids have learned and the main goal is to stop a boat. Violet protects Jack-Jack, Dash helps Bob with trying to turn the boat, and Helen apprehends Evelyn(who was absolutely a very predictable villain i wont deny that). TL;DR: 1. I don't think Violet was shy and insecure. A shy person wouldn't confront the date who they had a crush for standing them up. 2. They're unorganized because direct orders were disobeyed and they were dealing with an unfamiliar threat.
Didn't you pay attention! She is not shy and insecure at all. Violet in the second movie has no problem at all with using her powers, shes nailing it like it's nothing and she actively wants to fight the bad guys multiple times, she actively wants to use her powers, like in first minute of the movie when this gigantic drill is about to explode she makes a shield to protect her family from the explosion. And she's also not shy with Toni, she try's to talk to him in school after he didn't come to their date, if she would be shy she would look for a confrontation. But she just gets frustrated because of an choice she didn't make, because her father let Toni's memory deleted, and at the end of the film she freshly gets to know him again and goes on a date with him. She also makes decisions on her own, like to call lushes when her father is overworked, she came up with the idea to move the rudder of the ship, she came up with the idea to chase after the ship to safe her parents knowing everybody there got controlled by someone, she made the decision to wear to superhero suits after she found out that something fishy is going on with her parents on the ship. If anything then Violet is expanding on her new found confidence.
Tell me the part where elasta girl was in the city tracking screenslayer didn’t remind them of the Batman Arkham Games gliding through the city while Scarecrow is chatting over the audio
It amazes me that we didn't have a great battle between the protagonists vs. the main villain of the movie. In the first movie we only see them fighting robots and bodyguards. *Spoiler for the sequel* The main villain of the movies don't have superpower but smart as hell. Screenslaver was like Zemo or something.
Honestly, why couldn't the villain have been Void? My biggest problem with this movie is not only the weak and predictable villain, but Helen - who is now the main character - doesn't have a character arc. The villain never challenges her. Helen starts out the movie a competent badass, never stumbles physically or psychologically apart from mind control, and stays the same way she was at the beginning. That was kind of disappointing.
I just wish there was more development for violet and especially Dash. In the first movie (witch took place purely days prior) he was trying so hard to prove himself and it’s just like all of that character growth build up from that movie died in this one. And it’s because of the 14 year difference. I would’ve loved to see this movie to take place 15 years in the future to see how jack jack developed and who violet and dash are. It would give the creators and animators a lot of work but.. 14 years is enough time to come up with it.
+RagTagMC Except for animation, you also have the option of keeping them the same age, and if you already age them that quickly after one movie, then there's probably too much room for growth not covered. Aging them could also make you miss out on growth.
Myztik You know...Dash did a lot in the first movie anyway. I think the better thing to do would be to look upon character interactions rather than just a fan service of powers.
The first movie was better by miles though. When Helen tells her kids to use their abilities 'cause these people are not like the ones in the cartoons' - chills. The first movie has weight to it and feels darker. Another case is when Jack Jack is stolen by Syndrome, the roof is blasted off and Jack Jack screams as we see them fly away, Helen screaming "Bob.... throw me.... THROW ME!!" So great
Brad Bird is legit one of the best directors ever, he’s never made a truly ‘bad’ movie, as muddled as Tomorrowland felt, you could still sense a heart behind the craftsmanship. God DAMN I love his movies! XD
Im 19 now, but I saw tomorrow land whenever it came out and my young teenage self loved it so much, I couldn't tell you why. I cried at the dramatic scene towards the end. And I always acted tough and mighty back then so that meant something 😂. I refuse to watch Tomorrowland again though because I'm afraid I'll be disillusioned to the quality of that movie now that I watch so many critically.
It was way better to the Original movie than Finding Dory was to Nemo. Very close to the original in greatness just missed the seriousness of the original PIXAR is going back to its roots
ygsr Its your personal opinion anyway but I think you lack the ability to recognize a decent movie. Or maybe its been a little while since you saw the movie and due to your weak memory you forgot how good it really was.
Kick Ass it really wasn't that good. First of all felt nothing like the original. It felt forced in showing unnecessary shit I didn't want to know. The climax was painfully unrealistic and the overall setting felt like a Nickelodeon TV spinoff.
Couldn't agree more. I'd like another dinosaur movie separate from Jurassic park, more catered to adults. I really enjoyed some of the Dinos from Peter Jacksons King Kong.
+William Dalbey But, at the same time, she also provided a reason for supers to be illegal, and that is her elaborate plan to make supers look bad through something that only supers could really stop. So, her argument kinda collapsed on itself.
The FirstBourne Funny thing about that, I don't believe the supers did anything to fix that. She made them all look bad and if it weren't for three kids and a really cool car, the supers would have never gotten free, and a ship would have crashed into a building. As for the counterproductivity of her plan, it really wasnt. A group of supers took over a ship and aimed it at civilians. The same group of supers fixed that problem, but it doesn't change that in their squabble, innocent people could have been hurt.
+William Dalbey Yeah, but the fact that she was able to do that meant that there could be smarter threats there. She could have also not helped her brother to start the program if she was against it.
I thought it lived up to the original! As I mentioned in my review on my channel, my only problem was the villain wasn’t great and some of the new superheroes introduced felt a tad bit too cartoony.
I think the new superheroes were supposed to feel cartoony and pretty silly, until they used their powers in the final sequences and then you were like, "whoa, I guess I should take these guys seriously."
The first movie came out when I was 4, I turned 18 may 27th my last movie as a child was Deadpool 2, this movie will be my first movie as an adult and honestly my mind is boggled.
Last Defender of Xhoti Well, I guess you now fully understand the breadth and depth of responsibility that adulthood brings. Don't forget to join our Facebook group for handy tips on this kind of thiing.
As an animator, thank you, for recognizing the lack of credit we as artists receive for the performances put behind the voices. Voice acting is important and you can clearly tell the difference between good and bad voice actors and getting big names to do the voices get butts in seats. But the performance! the acting! hitting the beats of the nuances in the voices, that should be considered a much more important aspect of the medium being as its primarily a visual one but aside from a few huge names outside the industry you rarely hear them given the credit due.
I have to disagree with the villain being weak, I found that even though the reveal was weak and I saw it coming from a mile away, I was actually scared for the family and the other heroes because I was afraid that they would actually lose. Syndrome from the first movie didn’t really scared me and he was defeated by his own creation.
+Adrain Ornelas Yeah, but the villain of the first movie wasn't necessarily trying to be threatening so much as memorable. This is kind of the franchise that especially shows that if your villain isn't memorable, then it isn't that good. I loved Incredibles 2, but the villain is agreeably weaker in this one than Syndrome. Both drives were weak, but Syndrome had more fun with it. This villain was being more of a sourpuss about it.
I thought the villain was great. That Screenslaver monologue was fantastic. The reveal certainly could have been handled way better, since I knew it was her before the movie even came out. Her name is literally Evil Endeavor...like, at least try guys.
I agree that the villain was a bit weak, but what they did with the Screen slayer and the goggles was pretty cool and added lots of good action to the movie
The animation is easily my favorite part. The action scenes were so tight. Pixar really knows their stuff when out comes to this. The rest of the film was pretty good too. I'd give a solid 8/10. I was also surprised at how many people had a negative review of this movie.....
its because they compared it to that PERFECT first film. The incredibles 1 is honestly one of the best movies of all time and its my favorite animated movie. Incredibles 2 is really great but in my opinion that first movie was just so good
JurassicAvenger/Goji14 don’t rewatch the original first. I made that mistake and Incredibles 2, in my opinion, suffered greatly because of it. Go see 2 then rewatch the original so you can have the best, unfettered experience you can have with it.
Rezigo A good story shouldn't make your audience say "Oh, that is clearly the villain" or "They're going to make that stupid choice" and have them be correct each time. A good plot twist can really change a story and make it more interesting.
On the other hand, the fact you could have guessed who the villain was can also bring the tension up, you always see the protagonist near her but without the informations we have, without knowing her true intentions. We know something she doesn't know and that anything can happen to her everytime they're close. I like plot twist but this movie didn't really need it in the end, in my opinion.
@@spoongebubbles9380 A good story and all things that pertain to that is purely "subjective." A good plot twist is in no way an absolute necessity to actually produce an emotional and thrilling experience. As for making something more interesting, there are still twists that can technically break the focus of a plot and lessen the experience. Simply put, there are arguably "good" and "bad" twists that can be either beneficial or not.
Incredibles 2 was outstanding overall characters and animation every second was fun to watch and Elastagirl's power was fun to watch too. Villain was kind of weak but 0ace was great it was very suspenseful kinda felt scary at times. It definitely need part 3
My issue with the film is the premise is the same as the first movie. Supers are illegal, one parent goes out in semi-secret to do super work, the other parent has to struggle to deal with the children, there's a plot of deception that the hero doesn't see, the family starts to clue into the trouble they're in, the other super and the kids have to save them, they learn more about themselves and their powers, etc, etc. It's beat for beat the same movie. It's not a bad film but only because the first was so great. It was honestly really disappointing for me.
Jailan Simon me too. I was literally thinking as soon as i heard his voice come out in the trailer. It would've been so much better if he was the bad guy, letting superheroes jail innocent people so that people could see heroes were good, but they're putting the wrong people in jail. She was ok ,but her plan could have been so much better.
How can u call yourself a “movie critic” and say that this is you’re favorite Pixar movie!? Is this the first Pixar movie you’ve ever seen? It’s like devoting your life to reviewing food and saying Applebee’s is your favorite restaurant
I think this was the first time in a long while that I saw a big blockbuster before seeing your review. I saw it earlier today. I really enjoyed it too! Great review btw, Chris! Oh and where did you get your t-shirt because it’s awesome!
It's crazy to see how different peoples' opinions are on this film. YourMovieSucks just made a review and didn't like it, yet I can easily see where BOTH of you are coming from. However I'm right in the middle. 7.9/10
You mention the reflections. The shots from inside the elevator when they are going to the meeting were incredible. How it would change from a view of the city to their reflections when the clouds were outside the window was beautiful to look at.
In all honesty I like the screen slaver's way of thinking more than syndrome, it reminds me of shigaraki tomura from My hero academia, but the way they pulled it off I say is a little lackluster.
One large problem I had with this movie was the relationship arc between Elastigirl and Voyd (portal girl). Voyd was introduced as a big fan of Elastigirl. I believe this would have been a great relationship to evolve into a mutual friendship by the end of the movie. And I was really disappointed that it never really happens. When Voyd is first introduced, she is presented as an insecure and nerdy fangirl. She also has more significance to the story than the other superheroes introduced in that scene. That set up my expectation that she was going to be significant. At the point in the movie where they first announced the televised meeting of the world's leaders on the boat, Voyd goes up to Elastigirl and begins asking her a question that she "has always wanted to ask [Elastigirl]". It is clear how much Elastigirl means to Voyd but Elastigirl gets distracted and kind of brushes her off for the time being. These interactions are understandable, but where I was disappointed was at the end of the movie. I believe a huge, and clear opportunity was missed. Voyd gets Elastigirl to the ship that Evelyn was escaping on (admittedly with less than perfect execution). She also saves Elastigirl and Evelyn from plummeting into the ocean. Elastigirl doesn't ever acknowledge or thank Voyd for helping her. It would have been a pretty powerful moment to see Voyd finally receiving validation and from her idol. Unfortunately, that never happens. Instead, Voyd gives up trying to connect with Elastigirl and begins talking with Violet instead. Personally, I feel this was a pretty big shortcoming of this movie and I believe it takes away from the roles reversal theme. Mr. Incredible dismissing his fanboy was how Syndrome was created in the first movie. It would have made so much more sense to show some growth in this movie.
I watched The Incredibles so many times as a kid, but it never REALLY stuck with me like Finding Nemo or Monsters Inc did until my rewatch of the movie I did last night. I really enjoyed the film, but I honestly liked Incredibles 2 better. I personally felt a strange disconnect from the first one. It felt like it didn’t fully know what it was, like it was ALMOST there but just not entirely meeting the mark. What I loved so much about 2 was how much more grounded it felt. It really knew what it was. I also felt that the villain was better in the second one. Things felt a lot more urgent in the second one because of the platform used by the Screenslaver. It’s easier to brainwash people when you use computers and you can reach a much wider audience that way which is pretty terrifying.
i respectfully disagree. syndrome is a better villain. what I will say is that the action in this movie was better. Elastigirl vs screenslaver was one of my favorite scenes. so many tense moments and you get to see the hero think on her feet, fast.
Stott On The Dot Honestly, yes. Syndrome didn’t do much for me if I’m being completely honest. He didn’t have as wide of an influence as the ScreenSlaver did, just his inner circle of members that helped him out. All he really did was make fancy technology and the reason he did everything was pretty weak. He basically just got triggered because someone he looked up to wasn’t very nice even though he kind of disrespected Bob’s privacy. He was a very weak character. Meanwhile, the ScreenSlaver has a much more powerful reason behind why they wanted to do what they did. It was just a lot more interesting to me.

It’s so weird because even though screenslaver was worst than syndrome the motivation was so much better and darker. This villain actually had a compelling reason whereas syndrome was just obsessed, but his obsession is what makes him so evil. 😫Ugh, I just think screenslaver could have been so iconic if fleshed out and more sinister.
jalyn jones Yeah, I agree. Brad Bird should’ve gone really dark with Screenslaver.
jalyn jones syndrome was fantastic.
Screenslaver is Meh. Motivation is understood. Syndrome was great. Motivation highly understood.
Jake Tibbs *sees you dissing the angry Star Wars fanboys*
That’s a bold strategy Cotton, let’s see if it pays off.
Incredibles 2 was really good. The story of 1 was stronger and tighter but the action and fun in 2 was superior.
Joe Blow probably because we didnt know anything about them in the first one so it gave us reason to be excited and given something fresh
Joe Blow agreed
+Benny Fair fax it was good
Benny Fair fax What are you talking about it was amazing!
+Lockjaw oh damn better change my mind bc lockjaw in the youtube comments told me it wasn't good.
I agree that the villain was very obvious and weak, the villain from the first movie is so much better
"Who's super now?"
Paul Nguyen Though Syndrome was very ruthless and cold.
Paul Nguyen
"too grim for the kids".
And I also like how they didn’t bring race into it, proving that women aren’t a minority like so many feminists and antifeminists think they are. :)
Plus Bob was one of the major reasons the superhero ban even took place if you look to the beginning of incredibles one
MAGA!!! 2020.
Andika Hilm This movie showed the rift kind of feminism in my opinion. Both the men and women proved very strong and capable.
This is worth my $20! Loved the 1st one!
AssembleA Where da fook are movie tickets 20 bucks
I'd love to know too
Vinícius Ribeiro It's a ticket for me and my wife.
AssembleA ah ok i was like tf its like 10.50$ for a general here lol
I was just kidding bro. I'm from Brazil and to convert dolar to real made the movie really expensive. I hope you two enjoy it
I personally thought the villian and their motivation was the weakest part of the movie. I figured them out right away. Also I never really got attached to the newer supers.
If their intention was to get you more attached to the newer supers they would probably have more screentime? They barely even had any dialogue.
And they were poorly designed. Something is off abt the character designs in the sequel. It looked more dreamworkish than retro UPa like in the first movie.
Unclean Fudanshi what you said
I thought the villain was amazing 😂
Zaxor Von Skyler yeah, the villian was my biggest gripe with the film, kinda dragged down Elastigirl's parts towards the middle but other than that I really liked it. The newer supers were definitely secondary characters, they didn't have a huge role and I think that was intentional
SPOILERS
I completely agree that the villain was obvious.
Her points behind her motives especially the part when Screen slaver was speaking on the media about people's dependant issues and relying too much on technology and Superheroes when Elastigirl was looking for Screenslaver was actually really critical and hard hitting that its actually discomforting (and it should be)
I think people are really just biased to call this a good movie atleast
I know!! That was disappointing to me. Maybe he will show up in the next one?
definitelyaili There was actually an end credit scene where the Underminer is shown drilling to the city, It was really short though.
2,043,679 views Isn't that the first one???
Ultra Instinct I guess they’re doing the same cliffhanger
They forgot bone voiyage in the first movie as well
I don't KNOW that way, why would they change math? Math is math, math is math!
I'm so happy that Violet got more screen time compared to the last movie!
By the way speaking of Toy Story they still plan on making Toy Story 4 and to this day I am very skeptical about it.
Toy story 4 is coming out in two years
I still don't understand that, Toy Story 3 was a perfect ending
There are too many of those movies. I've never been prone to like it.
Pixar can't count to 4 so I doubt it.
Hope how to train your dragon 3 is just as good.
Steven Spielberg cried at the end of the screenplay of HTTYD 3
It’s gonna be better
I'm sure it will be!
Nah this was so good
RexorCall Skyline This was amazing. The httyds are okay
That Jack Jack scene with the animal was my favorite!!
So fucking adorable
I remember dressing up as Dash when I was 8 and now I'm nearly 22. Incredibles and Toy Story were always my ultimate favorite Pixar movies. I loved this movie! An instant classic.
Saw the film last night. It was PACKED of 20-something year Olds who have been waiting 14 years like me. It was awesome.
Anibal Palma I went in early this afternoon and there were mostly kids in there, not older ppl like us who were waiting for years
My favorite character's still Edna.
Hell yeah
And she’s an awesome babysitter!
Favorite character is raccoon

I saw this film in a double feature with Incredibles 1 in IMAX. It was--as the boy on the tricycle would say--totally wicked!
Its amazing how contradicting your review is to YMS. Its literally the exact opposite review.
I agree with YMS
What's YMS and what is the prince of all saiyans doing here lol
It's almost like all film reviews are stylized and heavily formatted opinion pieces based primarily on the opinions and tastes of their reviewers and aren't necessarily indicative of personality flaws in the reviewers?
BTQBCT
Im just saying its interesting.
So if Elastogirl and Frozone had a kid, would it be called Sub-Parr??
Michael Lechuga AHAHAHA I totally get it😅
Nah, because her last name wouldn’t have been Parr. I get he joke though.
I LOVED this movie!! It’s not absolutely perfect like its predecessor .. but it’s one of Pixar‘s absolute best. Chris is right the movie looks absolutely mesmerizing.
If there were a third movie to be made Bomb Voyage should be the main villain.
Iancredible I say it should be a team up between Bomb Voyage and the Underminer 😂
Rezigo Perfect
He was cool as shit
The villain reveal was so obvious.
**SPOILER ALERT**
Agreed, I was hoping that Dicker would be the villain tbh.
The Shawshank Inception true, I mean two new characters and a secretive villain-- obviously one of them is the ScreenSlaver lol
The Shawshank Inception I think the film just lacked red herrings to throw the viewer off, like literally who else could it have been
Filmatic Pictures but, let’s be real, that was the ONLY problem with the film.
TOO LATE....... 14 years too late
POPINCONEJO88 If they waited one more year we could've made the 15 year joke
Lmaooo
National Coaster News the original intention is actually to release this movie in 2019 so pixar do want us to make the joke to be a real thing
I watched a video that said that problems with toy story 4 ended up having problems so incredibles and toystory switched release dates
I loved the night-time city action scenes so much. Everything just looked so damn good.
Nostalgia overload.
Fuck off go get a fucking life.
fuck you

The Iron Giant in the background is the real MVP.
It's not nearly as exciting as the original, but that doesn't mean it wasn't really damn good.
tbh it's as exciting as the original...
Not to me.
Miss Woodpecker it’s no where near as good as the first
I never cared for the first Incredibles...this one was more watchable even though the villain was meh.
@@hllywood72 You're tripping kid
The best part of the animation is elastigirl fighting screenslaver in the hypnobox. Sure it was very bright but it was super energetic and exciting
I loved that part! It was trippy and so well done!
Drawing Conclusions I loved how fast the movement and combat was. I wish it went on for a little longer
What about Underminer? He got away with it.
It's true we never see justice served there. Maybe in Incredibles 3? :)
Honestly, I liked that Underminer escaped. Leaves things open
The underminer video game is cannon, they beat him in that.
Just like bon voyage
Meh, let em run.
That beautiful nicktoons shirt
FAT JAXSON there's a cartoon network version of that as well.

TL;DR:
Tell me the part where elasta girl was in the city tracking screenslayer didn’t remind them of the Batman Arkham Games gliding through the city while Scarecrow is chatting over the audio
i really wanted to see a scene of Dash running really fast
Half of everyone dies and the villian wins
Oh shit sorry that's Infinity War's ending
Wade Wilson dammit wade
Spoilers Most of X force dies in over the top comedic ways on their first dispatch.
Pelcogo damm you lol
Mr. Stark, I don't feel so good.
It would be perfect if the villian had a very powerful guy and gave the Parr family a tough fight in the end....
Irish67 brick
So like a Nomu kinda thing
It amazes me that we didn't have a great battle between the protagonists vs. the main villain of the movie. In the first movie we only see them fighting robots and bodyguards. *Spoiler for the sequel*
The main villain of the movies don't have superpower but smart as hell.
That was kind of disappointing.
im happy we didn't get a generic "good guy vs bad guy fight" at the end, they're getting so tired and predictable.
+CosmiiqQuibblePop Point frickin' made...thank you, sir.
Yoo Dash did NOTHING in this one lol
CosmiiqQuibblePop Aw man, but one of the Peanuts girls gets called, "Sir".
Myztik You know...Dash did a lot in the first movie anyway. I think the better thing to do would be to look upon character interactions rather than just a fan service of powers.
Even the name. Evil Endeavor = Evelyn Deavor
UA-cam gotta take an L for playing a boss baby ad before this review.
Well...the baby in this is a boss. So I'd say it fits.
XD
I love Brad Bird, but only half of Tomorrowland is a good movie. The second half is a disaster.
He's good but not as good as Alfred Hitchcock!
DJNX4995 nobody has ever compared Brad Bird to Alfred Hitchcock until now.
Drawing Conclusions not really, not the second half, just the end which isn't half the movie. None of it was a disaster though.
Not since Infinity War have I clicked on a review this fast!!😁😁
Honestly 1 was more sinister and the villain was much creepier 2 had more character development tho
David Peterson agreed

It was way better to the Original movie than Finding Dory was to Nemo. Very close to the original in greatness just missed the seriousness of the original PIXAR is going back to its roots
Scott Coleman I kinda hate Finding Dory
ygsr Its your personal opinion anyway but I think you lack the ability to recognize a decent movie.
I think I lost brain cells by reading this
Top 5 Cartoon which part?
I could watch Elastigirl's action scenes on a loop. So cool, and so tied to animation.
Same here
Incredibles 2 is exactly what the new Jurassic Park needs,.... Good writing. Excellent review and i liked your review on the new Jurassic World.
Couldn't agree more. I'd like another dinosaur movie separate from Jurassic park, more catered to adults. I really enjoyed some of the Dinos from Peter Jacksons King Kong.
Honestly I think mr incredible having a mental breakdown was the funniest scene

I kind of felt that the villain had a point, though. They felt that heroes gave citizens a bit of a dependence issue.
At least they had more personality than the background heroes in the 1st one
I think the new superheroes were supposed to feel cartoony and pretty silly, until they used their powers in the final sequences and then you were like, "whoa, I guess I should take these guys seriously."
Conner Blase - Some of them in Incredibles 2 didn’t even feel like humans. It bugged me so much.
The character design for the new heroes looks so weird. At least Gazerbeam, Dyna guy et al from the first film looked more human.
Conner Blase that not fair, they didn't even say anything in the first one.
The first movie came out when I was 4, I turned 18 may 27th my last movie as a child was Deadpool 2, this movie will be my first movie as an adult and honestly my mind is boggled.

LOOKING INCREDIBLE CHRIS
As an animator, thank you, for recognizing the lack of credit we as artists receive for the performances put behind the voices. Voice acting is important and you can clearly tell the difference between good and bad voice actors and getting big names to do the voices get butts in seats. But the performance! the acting! hitting the beats of the nuances in the voices, that should be considered a much more important aspect of the medium being as its primarily a visual one but aside from a few huge names outside the industry you rarely hear them given the credit due.
Finally I been checking your channel for this video !!
Is no one gonna comment on how epic Chris's shirt is?
"Nicktooners: Infinity War"
I love that they didn't make it more of a kids movie but they made it for people that grew up with the original
I agree that the villain was a bit weak, but what they did with the Screen slayer and the goggles was pretty cool and added lots of good action to the movie
i think it made up for the weak set up
Great review. I love it how you have Brad Bird films Ratatoullie, The Incredibles, and Iron Giant in the background.
Incredibles 2 is really great but in my opinion that first movie was just so good
Chris I'm glad you liked the film, I'm gonna check it out eventually. I might as well rewatch the original while I wait to see it.
JurassicAvenger/Goji14 don’t rewatch the original first. I made that mistake and Incredibles 2, in my opinion, suffered greatly because of it. Go see 2 then rewatch the original so you can have the best, unfettered experience you can have with it.
Gabe Villarreal I made the same mistake and I agree. The first one was so good that the second one suffered TREMENDOUSLY!
Ok?
It was horrible. Don't watch.
this is a very good film; sadly it was predictable. 0 surprises. that is its worst aspect.
Shifu Careaga Why does a film need surprises?
Rezigo A good story shouldn't make your audience say "Oh, that is clearly the villain" or "They're going to make that stupid choice" and have them be correct each time. A good plot twist can really change a story and make it more interesting.
On the other hand, the fact you could have guessed who the villain was can also bring the tension up, you always see the protagonist near her but without the informations we have, without knowing her true intentions.
We know something she doesn't know and that anything can happen to her everytime they're close.
I like plot twist but this movie didn't really need it in the end, in my opinion.
@@spoongebubbles9380
A good story and all things that pertain to that is purely "subjective." A good plot twist is in no way an absolute necessity to actually produce an emotional and thrilling experience. As for making something more interesting, there are still twists that can technically break the focus of a plot and lessen the experience. Simply put, there are arguably "good" and "bad" twists that can be either beneficial or not.
Dude that shirt is awesome!!
this review was unusually plot spoilery for you
I always wait to hear your review...before i rush out to see any film...you are usually always on point
DUDE WHERE DID YOU GET THAT SHIRT?! I NEED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was surprised it wasn’t Winston Deavor haha turns out the poor guy was oblivious
The Incredibles is the best pixar film.

Randomalistic why not just an 8?
RJnator why not 8.1?
My Hentai Girl why not 8.2?
Why not an 8.3?
Lonsdaleite Politics you Fufcking fuffs obviously 8.4
It was a great movie but not as great as the first albiet the first was a massive gamechanger so it'd be pretty hard to attain that same status.
Hi Chris, could you please review the utterly brilliant, The Godfather? Thanks
jeffs1000 they both compliment each other. Part III though? Ehhhh.
Just rewatched the first! I am ready to see the second in my local movie theatre!
The villian was great!
Woahhh you had me until better villain. You thought Screenslaver was better than SYNDROME? Not even close.
i respectfully disagree. syndrome is a better villain. what I will say is that the action in this movie was better.
It was just a lot more interesting to me.
man i hate young kids, u were obviously too young for Incredibles to even have an opinion.
