Cool to see Fort McMurray being appreciated instead of hated on for once.
we're doing our best to highlight the people who keep society moving
Apparently people like to dump on primary industry, until they realize it's keeps life going.
same here
I'm surprised you're all so concerned for the future of Kuwait's economy, that's kinda sweet
I built the dragline that Aaron was standing in front of when he was describing the bucketwheel. The dragline was assembled and welded together in 1975 to 1977 on the syncrude site.
that's absolutely incredible Tom. Thanks for watching
Sweet man I love old equipment
That's so cool
That’s awesome sir ! What a neat thing to look back on !
This channel is like being a little kid going to work with dad to see all the cool stuff
that's how I feel every day
My buddy has the privilege to operate all these vehicles because his dad ownes his own construction company. Its pretty cool
@@pearmainstudios3942 that's badass man. I grew up in an auto mechanic environment. First time I saw a dragline at a phosphate mine was something else
Too awesome, couldn’t really appreciate how big the equipment actually is until your standing or sitting on it, keep hanging in Canada and check out the logging equipment while your there.
we'll be back soon!
Pardon the pun , but here is the DIG we want you to show us EVERYTHING about the machines in your videos ! Your not talking too much!. Your bring back fond moments for us retired workers keep them comming!...... ❤
Kenworth c500. The workhorse of the oil patch
I LOVE your amazement of our area. a 6015 is pretty big for sure. I have seen full 797's roll around the region. it is just bigger up here.
Thank you for visiting and highlighting our region. Glad you came, come back again.
Thanks Kyle. We will be back soon
Alex Burnoot is a gentleman and a scholar. His hugs are dreamy as well!
Back in early 2000's I work for a construction company and spent a year and a half working in Fort McMurry renovating the Dr. Karl A Clark Elementary school. According to the kids and teachers their school was very important because Karl A Clark was the one that came up with how to extract the tar from the sand with hot water and steam. We were all taken on a guided tour of mine. I grew up in a coal mining town and had been around massive equipment since I was little. I don't care who you are or how old you get standing next to equipment like this blows your mind.
Yup
About cold starting: A lot of trucks and equipment in Canada use Webasto or Espar diesel coolant heaters to maintain temperature at 160F. I think they have adapters for the coolant to circulate thru the hydraulic tanks as well or it’s manufactured into the tank. Using synthetic engine oil in the winter also makes a huge difference.
Who uses conventional still anyways
that's awesome thank you for the information Chris
Most of the iron does not get shut off. As mechanics go to repairs often the equipment is covered in a parachute and tow behind frost fighters (gensets with diesel fire indirect heaters. Millions of BTU) Are used to keep everything warm. You can walk around in a t-shirt inside and -40 outside.
What country should we hit up next?

Keep wandering around canada, maybe cover some logging.
Deep dive into the tar sands of Alberta
yeah, canadien logging and oil would be nice
in quebec province for de gold mine
Yukon
I love seeing my city being talked about in a positive way instead of being trashed because of the oilsands! My father has photos of the dragline and bucket wheel in operation back in the day
What town?

Welcome to Alberta! While you're here there's lots of cool projects to check out. Glad to see you showing us off on the world stage
Glad you liked my province! I used to be an electrician up there building SAGD oil plants
awesome
I like hearing you talk, especially your conversations with the people on sight. Your commentary makes your content special imo
Very cool Aaron thanks for getting our excellent crew some recognition they all deserve
thanks for watching Glenn
The grace at which that beast moved, impressive.
thanks for watching
Seems y'all have fun making these videos, which makes them fun to watch.
Very nice to see. I used to work for a company ( in the same province) that makes rims and wheels for mining trucks, but I only ever saw the mining equipment in pictures. My older brother works in ft. McMurray so it's really nice to see this stuff.
This Aaron wishes he was more like you. You’re just cool and speak with honesty and a nice tone. The production quality from you all is outstanding. I found you by chance, and although I’m not in the industry I love machines and learning about it all. Every video feels fun and informative, and it can be a challenge to get that blended well. You guys do it brilliantly. Since you asked, as unlikely as it may be, I hope one of the countries you can hit up is Romania; because it’s beautiful, because there’s industrial history I know nothing about and would love to learn from you.
thank you so much for your kind words and for watching I really appreciate it
Wow! I’ve been around big equipment before. But nothing like those gigantic machines!
Corks help in sideways slide on icy ground. Finally refreshing content! Will follow!! Worked many sand and gravel and shot rock operations --- just like home!!
thanks for following along and watching
Now see , I had no idea that this 6015 had a grease gun on the machine how COOL....
13:55 "please do not climb on the equipment" (Aaron sitting on the other side of the bumper... LOL
I love this moment as a picture when stopping the vid 😉
oh and because of the hauling section... you see the excavator and know that it is not that tiny... but then you suddenly realise how large the heavy haul truck has to be when it drives past you as a empty truck... this was impressive
Honesty I enjoy your commentary a lot , love these vids
thank you!!!
thats great, because this entire video was commentary, and he didn't even show any oilsand. It was all commentary
This is really awesome to see. I live and work in fort mcmurray piloting for heavy hauls/ do my own light vehicle hauls amongst other things. The culture and environment of it is something truly amazing to be apart of in every way.
About 7 years ago I got a job welding outta high school and I got to weld all the teeth and wear bars on one of those buckets. It came into our shop because along transport it got into an accident outside of Red Deer and the bucket was dented. We got the bid to straighten it out and re-finish it, one of my favourite projects from that job!
Thanks for showing the beauty. Lots of people talk shit about the oilsands and dont realize how they protect the land
it's amazingly different in person
Here in Montana we have used ice bits or lugs on our cats and any steel tracked machines in the winter months, for logging and road building.
I had to scroll down through here hoping somebody would say something just exactly what you said because that's exactly what we did also and I'm also from Montana but I'll give him a little slack I won't gang up on him
“Corked” tracks. We know it well in Alberta🇨🇦
11:06 I used to do this to every wall as a kid lol
Bro. The pull-ups killed me 😂😂😂😂🤜🤛
Also. The question counter. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
haha thank you!!
Its Only Cool because alex is in it
we've already got a special segment ready for you
I love your channel. Don’t ever lose yourself. You are what we like about this channel
thank you Jared!!
This is one of my favorite videos yet! Great stuff!
thanks for watching Trent!
Best looking excavator ever build
The question tracker, cracked me up. Though I had the same questions, so I'm glad that you asked them.
thanks for watching Jake
Thanks for a cool video Aaron. You’ll have to come up again. So much more to see.
Someone asked about a tire count average. 144 on the Goldhofer platform hauling the 16,000 crane. 👍
This was such a fun watch!
You know things are getting serious when Aaron starts dropping F-bombs.
Loved the KW... reminded of the Hayes logging trucks from the 70'/80's
The first of Alberta series videos finally thanks Aaron
more on the way thanks for watching!
Awesome videos! Great editing and keep them coming!
thank you!
Nice video, good info and actually pretty funny. I like it when those big machines get transported in 1 piece. More of that please 👍
Wow, beautiful scenery!
Welcome to Canada 🇨🇦 mate. Enjoy the last days of summer.
How do they keep from blowing tires on the transport trailer during loading and unloading, with those ice features on the tracks?
Good question. There’s little weight put on the tires from the tracks as they barely contact the tread. Also the tires are extremely thick to deal with it
The machine they had on the trailer didn’t have the ice lugs
@@FishFind3000 Yes it did, they look small though
yeah it had lil ones
We calls em “Corks” up here fellas! Lol
I was thinking of the living arrangements and layout literally minutes b4 you said it!
love when youtube suggests new channels like this
glad you're here
Good to see you in Canada Aaron , enjoy your visit and don’t believe any of the negative remarks that some have about the oil sands projects. Did you know that since they started these operations that the oil quit migrating into the river and flowing out into the ocean in witch it has done in the past before these projects. That alone should be told to anyone how thinks these projects are not good .
yep it's amazing. I was shocked to see all the operations in reality in a good way
God knew someday we would be able to utilize it as an necessity
These resources are not artificially contrived by man in a chem lab like ---
I would of NEVER thought that trailer would hold that machine. I am impressed!!!
Starting in the best province in Canada I see
we are such savages. i love it. proud to be albertan 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
yet so many vacation in BC, weird…..😂
when he said he was here to rustle some jimmies, i immediately subscribed.
Love kenworth c500s; awesome rigs
Edit: you should see the oilfield bed trucks
We have some sweet things!!!!
Right on welcome to Canada boys
Down to earth. Great stuff Built Witt
thanks for watching
In keeping with the spirit - the ongoing theme of busting chops, there is dense (like me, dense, stubborn German) and there is less dense. Not heavy and less heavy. Keep up the great content. Good that there are young folks interested in this content.
Always wanted to see what’s it like to operate the 6015. I operate a hitachi 1200 and it’s an alright machine. Also we keep trucks running all the time because they’re a pain to start back up (in the winter time).
Now that's what you call a Canadian Kenworth
Lol I got Jeeping with Alex
What a job site!
The Kenworth is moving it, but this job looks like something for a Pacific.
WOW!!! Your videos just keep getting better and better. Excellent
I laughed out loud at 'parkour'🤣🤣
thank you Johnny!!
Thanks for your videos, that's some serious machinery 😲
Could you do a video reviewing the specifications on the semi truck and trailer? Very impressive
Most of the c500 floats run c15/c16 Detroit 8v92 on threally old ones and some Cummins kta19. 18 speed Eaton's some Allison. Drive axles are sisu, Clark or merritor.
ALEX!!!!!!! YARRRRRRRRRRR!!!! DIGGIN DITCHIN N BITCHIN!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Theoooooooooooooo
Where I work it gets to -30° F and we don't shut the machines or trucks down during the weekday. But if we're taking the weekend off then we'll shut them down.
If your going to come to the patch, better throw some Ariats on man. Nothing beats a good kenworth c500 and Cat machinery! Welcome to Alberta!
Expedience or expedient was the word you may have been looking for when describing the moves made on large/heavy equipment without break-down reassembly sessions. None the less another nice video of yours that I watched and enjoyed. I'm a bit jealous that you can do what you do but I also know that it takes a good bit of talent and skills honed over lots of field experience.
thank you so much for watching and the kind words I appreciate it
I work out of the yard that's right next to where the CAT gear was dropped off. Got real excited to see the familiar road, super disappointed I wasn't there when this was filmed
maybe next time
That semi looked like he had highway tread in the front and offroad in the back. Xool
I really don’t know anything about these machines but I enjoy your videos and info … how you can make fun of yourself … and teach at the same time. Keep it up bro! Sub
I remember the big 60 Series Front Shovel that was used on I26 on the NC TN line, it was a monster.
Seeing that the 6015 sports the new logo means it is close to 5 years.Great video by the way.
thanks for watching!
Impressive stuff you guys!!
Lol, I used to run pilot truck for those NCSG boys, great guys, they haul some impressive loads!!!
5:40 was something straight out of snow runner 🤩
I actually like the talking
thanks luke!
It takes a Kenworth to pull this kind of load. Not surprised there. There are bigger loads out there. I have seen one Kenworth pulling and one Kenworth pushing as it went down the road. All hooked together.
BURNOOOOOOOT!!!
cool,thats big time stuff
Great Video!
Wow 😯 it's very big equipment ❤❤❤
Alberta baby lucky to call this place home
So awesome to finally see footage of the oilsands on UA-cam! Kudos for you to get through all the permitting required. btw, what mic do you use? Sound quality is awesome
"Holy fck" is one of my favorites to use😂
Such excavators (bucket wheel) work in Germany and Poland, Krupp I believe. One in Poland is working in open pit brown coal in Belchatow (Kleszczow), biggest open pit mine in Europe. Other one in Germany is bigger I think.
11:08 PARCOUR!!! 😂 😝 😆 too funny mate!
glad you enjoyed it!!
Ah the 16000. A small beast I loathe
My grandfather helped in the process of the building a few of the big shovels back in the 50,s and 60,s in Ohio strip mines
that's fantastic
A company i worked for here in Alabama had the first 6015b cat made the demo video for the hoe were done in the quarry i worked in its a awesome machine to run
Welcome to Canada 🇨🇦
That is a "MAN" of truck!
The intro was very funny xD , great video as usual :)
thanks Max!
Badazzery at its best !!!
Lololol man you outdid yourself this time!!! Great video bro and the "f" bomb at 5:09 lolol. Amazes me how that 15 dwarfs that C5. I'd love to see her next to a 390 and see the size comparison. Great job here!
thanks James!
Finning Cat is the largest Cat dealer in North America, because they cover all Canada. I work for Holt Cat, the second biggest dealer. Crazy part is we are one of 4 Cat dealerships in Texas! HOLT CAT! 😁
Good shit Mr. Witt!!!!!
thanks for watching!
I used to haul Cat gen sets for Finning in Red Deer to Petersen Cat in Oakland California
I fascinated , when I saw that kenworth engine pulling out 155 tons heavy catterpillar 6015 B . Absolutely insane work . ❤⚡♥️
