I love how all your content is still relevant a year down the road! Great cook Chef Greg. I’ve done this one a hundred times and it’s definitely a family favorite! #shootyeah

We got our 340 last week. My wife purchased it for our 44th anniversary present. Our first test run was Hamburger. Our first major was a chuck roast. This video was out yet. We “winged” it with what we had in house and loosely followed another roast cook you had on line. Turned out great. We will just get better with time and cooks. Thank you

What internal temperature would you recommend for sliced chuck roast

Chef Greg and Chef John, you guys are killing it with the chuck roast, and killing me watching it! Going to buy a couple of chuck roasts today and try smoking them and the burnt ends recipe. Thanks for sharing the recipes. We have company from Texas coming in next week, and my husband Pat and I want to try this for them, but want to practice first. Happy Holidays to you guys and your families.

Going to try this recipe tomorrow on my 590. Smoking two roasts that are about 3-3.5 pounds each. Setting aside 10 hours start ti finish. Is this enough time at 250 degrees?

Question for the Mississippi Pot roast if you did it with turkey breast instead how long would you cook it before and after putting it in the pan?

    Chef Greg
So I made both of these today.
The burnt ends where bit rubbery and put back in to soften them up that worked.
The Mississippi pot roast is on hour 12 still not wanting to pull apart. I have made this before in the old crock pot but put a stick of butter in and slow cooked for 8 hours and advice what I did wrong?
    Thanks

I will Add, That I agree chef Greg... Chuck roast is not poor mans brisket! Chuck roast prices per lb are sometimes higher than brisket.. And I’m old enough to remember when both of those cuts of meat were very cheap, 30 years ago

I make steaks out of them🥩🥩 MOST OF THE TIME. OH GOD IT SO GOOD. if it over 3" tall > slice them into halves. The prefect thickness for steaks is? 2" to 2 3/4" thick CHEAP DELICIOUS STEAKS YUM

  • @426superbee4
    @426superbee4 7 місяців тому

Only the thing about chuck roast is > You can get only 2 kinds of taste out of it🥩🥩 THE 1st one is STEAK 2nd is ROAST BEEF. THERE IS NO BRISKET TASTE TO IT! To make steak out of the roast. > YOU ONLY GOT ABOUT A hour and half time to make it a steak. 👉 MORE YOU COOK IT THE MORE ROAST BEEF TATES IT GETS! 👉 So that mean YOU GOT TO GET IT TENDER FAST > i like to heavy smoke it for 30 min then FLAME CHAR BROIL IT JUST LIKE A STEAK ooooo YUM YOU WOULD SWEAR ITS A RIBEYE OR A NY STRIP YUM 🥩🥩

Viewing tip: Fast forward through the first five minutes of BS. This video would have been a lot better with about 15 minutes of it edited out.

  • @cowdoc123

So.... just have to say. You guys are fun to watch when I have nothing else on my agenda.
But....when I would like to replicate the recipe or concept, the video length turns me away.
Maybe....Consider a shorter, edited version for when I want to cook, alongside the longer, more fun version. 🤷‍♂️ Both could be fun, but useful.
Just a thought. But, the long versions are keeping me from watching just because I don’t want to dedicate the time. No matter how much fun y’all bring.
