- Happy to share the full first set, unedited and in one go, of Tuba Skinny's first appearence in the foyer at The Casino, in the old pretty little spa town of Châtel-Guyon, some 110 miles west of Lyon, May 19th, 2018. Jazz aux Sources à 20 ans, Le Festival de Swing à Danser, couldn't have invited a more appropriate band to entertain the audience and get dansers going wild. William et Maeva and Cathy et Gilbert were outstanding on that small area, showing pure joy. Due to the huge crowd, almost standing on top of each other, one was given very little space to work with, trying to stabilize the hand-held Sony HandyCam FDR-AX100, a bit off the optimal angle for shooting.
I love this band. Everyone is a virtuoso but the clarinetist is the standout because of the way he weaves his magic around and through the melody. And the washboard - what can I say!😀😄😁😆

This requires more skill than most people possess. They are happy playing for a full house. Look at the 1st part of the 2nd set, and you'll see plenty of smiles.

I think she felt challenged by the need to listen to her band mates while playing, and now as you point out all members play with respect for the other band members, listening and seeking that elusive ensemble sound.
