CMP M1 Garand sighting and operation

I want to take this #m1garand to the range up to 300 yards but it needs sighted. The front sight post is too tall, so the rifle shoots low at 100 with the rear set to 100. So I will adjust azimuth and try my best with the elevation. Let me know what I can do with the front sight post.

If you loosen the elevation knob screw you can turn it freely without moving aperture to adjust it to 100m mark.
