My son inherited one , I thought it was a model 60 till I read 99 on the barrel. Like yours this one has never been apart but after going through it it looks almost new. Thanks for the info!
@ThingsThatgobang96 I watched the vid, and my 99c model handle is not the same. It's smooth with no markings at all, and there is no cutout in the bolt to push the charging handle into. I've had the gun apart many times, and Marlin did make several models of the 99 without a bolt hold open feature.
To lock the bolt back, pull bolt back to the rear and push the bolt handle in towards the rifle. There is a arrow on front of the handle pointing toward bolt. To close the bolt, simply pull handle out and the bolt moves forward to lock.
My model does not work that way. Im familiar with rifles that lock the bolt this way, my Mossberg 702 Plinkster locks open like this. The Marlin Model 99s made from 1959 until about 1974 don't have a bolt hold open. Taking the rifle apart, i dont even see where anything was broken or modified. I do know that some people retrofit a Model 60 bolt to fit the Model 99 so the bolt hold open from the Model 60 works for the 99. Thanks for the info, though. I'm always willing to learn something new about the older firearms I own.
Depending on which one you need, gunpartscorp.com has the rear takedown screw (long screw) in stock for $4.75. The front screw (short screw with larger head) is out of stock.

Im pretty sure they made the model 99 until the 1970's -80's. They had several different variations of the model 99. Mine is the Model 99-C. There are a few model 99 types, the original Model 99 being the fast father of the Model 60. Model 99 (1959-61) Model 99-C (1962-78) Model 99-DL (1960-65) Model 99-G (1960-65) Glenfield barrel stamp. Model 99-M1 (1966-79). The barrel markings on mine , according to all available sources, show my Model 99 to be manufactured in February of 1968.
I purchased my Marlin 99c new in 1970. It is an anniversary 100 Year Edition with the gold 100 Year 1970 Medallion on it. So yes they do make the 99c much later than what you are saying.

Watching from canada, wish i could own one of these antique rifles.. great video!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Put the Colibri as your last round and you won't have to worry about dry firing when the mag is empty.
The bolt does lock back, there’s an arrow on the bolt lever. U pull the bolt back in push the lever in at the same time
@ThingsThatgobang96 there is no arrow on this bolt, and no indent. I have pulled, pushed, and taken the bolt apart. No bolt hold open on this model.
@@wolfhuntersarmory oh well I have the first marlin 99 and it doesn’t have last round bolt open but I can still lock the slide back
@@wolfhuntersarmory that’s actually very similar to my 99. I’m gonna make a video and tag u

@@wolfhuntersarmory oh okay sorry I just figured since mine was older that they would’ve kept it that way

Many older Marlin .22's did not have the bolt hold open, my model 99 does not. easy to fix with a newer charging handle and drill press.
Mine is a 1967 just a year older than the one you have
Good informative video keep going have a good day
Thanks for watching!
Nice video
What are the screw lengths or part numbers. For all screws on the mod 😄99 marlin 22 long riffle. They are lost thanks.
What time of armor use for it
Just got one from a client for free have no idea what armor to get for it
If you meant ammo, it is .22lr or .22 long rifle, depending on how the manufacturer names it.
i have one needs take down screws
