- A fantastic afternoon session spent at Grantham Station on the East Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from Virgin Trains East Coast, Grand Central, Hull Trains, East Midlands Trains and freight from DB Cargo UK.
This station is always brilliant to film at no matter what day you go there, I happened to be here on a Sunday so obviously it wasn't going to be the busiest station of the day but the amount of passing traffic was definitely fantastic and the DB Cargo 66 that came storming through definitely woke me up.
My next station is Stratford Regional on the Great Eastern Mainline.
You can now find me on Facebook through the group Tornado922, there you will find regular updates, videos and photos from all of my goings on throughout 2017
Great video as usual.
I like when the non stopping trains going to london kings cross come round the corner at speed and through the station.
I have to say that Grantham is one of my favouret stations.
As usual keep up the good work.
D.
Thanks very much for saying so I'm really glad that you enjoyed watching this. Grantham is always a brilliant station to come to at any stage of the week. Seeing that this was filmed on a sunday I think I did rather well
Great Video! :) Grantham is a great train-spotting station. I haven't yet seen the VTEC 800s and 801s. But it's early days. Soon I anticipate VTEC to extend their 9 and 5 coach sets to 11 coach sets. The 800s and 801s Being diesel-electric hybrids means VTEC can deploy them on services to Aberdeen and Inverness. As you said Grantham is underrated but it's the birthplace of Margaret Thatcher. If there is a museum and library built and opened in her honour then Grantham Station will attract more railway enthusiasts.
I'm glad you enjoyed watching this, its a station that really should get more coverage for sure. From what I understand VTEC wont be lengthening the 800/01 fleet as they will be keeping a handful of 225 sets for the Anglo-Scottish runs
Great Video Jarred :D nice catch with the EMT VTEC HST
Thanks very much mate I'm glad you enjoyed this :) I really wasn't expecting to see a EMT HST on the rear of that

I saw one of the last white Eurostars at Stratford Int on the 6th may
the numbers on the 180's are on one of the couplings
I've tried catching GC ones at speed, it's a real challenge that's for sure
Fantastic Video Their :)

The grand central adelante's numbers are on the front but under the coupling system.
In which case I would have no hope of getting them haha
The nameplate is easy to know what that is.

It does get used but very rarely
Are there any signs in the station proclaiming Grantham as the birth place of Maggie Thatcher?
Not as far as I'm aware
how fast do you reckon the straight through trains are going through grantham
BIG TONE. Generally they are doing over 100mph as they gather pace to head up Stoke bank Southbound.
thanks jezbo 78 looks great fun on that station
Is there a timetable somewhere telling you when cargo trains past stations?
Harry stones yes you could try Realtime trains you can look at trains through stations in hourly slots you can look 7 days behind and 90 days ahead
Thanks, also if you do go on reddit, you know any good sub-reddits I can post trainspotting vids?
*Damn Ice Cream Van*
