Crissy Why are there not more Filipinas that are as socially , psychologically, and logically educated as you? There are only a select few Filipinas that I"ve come across thus far that I find fascinating. I can only hope that I can find my niche here for I know I can not achieve it back in the states. I love the natural beauty of this country and have a better chance of adapting. There's such a disconnect in Philippine culture, norms, politics, law enforcement and just common sense that I know I have my work cut out for me. The Filipina Pea checks off a lot of boxes of mine as far as a great life partner but, we're just too far off in age for me to feel comfortable. I still see her as a teenager as far as maturity and physical appearance.

Chrissy, that is Such great advice. It's clear you are speaking from your heart and mind. I think back to my first trip to meet my wife in Pampanga. We were out at the pool and there was a guy there with his leady and a couple of kids. I talked with him a bit and it turned out he could only visit twice a year for 9-10 days at a time. I thought, dang that's tough. The next day after he had left his lady was still there and I talked with her for a bit. She matter of fact told me that she had two other men that also supported her and the kids. The men didn't know about each other, but she didn't feel it was deceptive at all. These were long term long distance relationships with an occasional visit from each. On one level I guess it works, but know that if you start up a relationship, but can't find a way to be together permanently then expect you might end up with something like the example i gave above. If that's enough, go for it, but don't delude yourself. Online can work great, but then as Chrissy talked about, you need to get to the Philippines to find out if it truly is real and the two of you are well suited to each other.

Regarding giving money to the family members I think its not good to just give money, the oldest son off my wife took to much advantage off that, after confronting him and no change in a few weeks I send him away, he came back to visite after 9 months, he has a job now, he lost 30 kilo ( when he was here he only walked between the hammock and his bed playing on his phone) my wife and I rewarded him with a nice moto so now he learned that hard work is rewarded, think thats better then to just give money, now I try to be his carreer coatch, making a time plan fore his future ( not a lot off people do that here) so thats my way to help

Of course, there are some women like that, but foreigners marrying Filipinas is still a very, very small group compared to the 100+ million folks living in the Philippines. More significant numbers are undoubtedly from the prostitutes getting on the streets from customers and Filipino men who abandon their women. Abandoned families are an issue in the Philippines, and there isn't the government support you find in most Western countries. So it's not like Filipinas with kids get together yearly and fill the biggest convention halls. If the men care, they provide financial support for their families long after they are gone.
I'd be interested in knowing what do each of you look forward to on a daily basis. I know you have your young son and that prabably consumes a good part of your time but I'd still like to know what you guys would do individually with your time. If I could connect with just a few friends/ associates such as you and Rob, I'd feel more settled. For the past 1- 2 years I've sent about 85% of my time just wasting away in my bedroom. I can't really venture out because of the province I"m in. Too much marites and disgruntle family and neighbors. Next year, I hope to be in the position to relocate to anothe island and build my dream home ( again ).
