In one of my playthroughs Astarion missed 4 shots IN A ROW when goblins sieged druids grove(1st encounter, when yiu meet Will). He had highgrounds over all targets, whey all were in the normal shot distance and there were literally not a single chance this could happen. Well, gues who got murdered dead minute after cutscene, and whose body was used as an additional loot chest at the camp for the whole playthrough? Yeah, that wasnt Laethel, i killed her way before that xD

Lmao let me tell a funny story. I almost never misses in my SINGLE PLAYER campaign which is my very first. However my multiplayer I started with a friend he keeps missing like shadow heart and wyll always did that got them benched in favor or Karlach and Gale lol. Karlach stayed until Halsin was on board now I roll with the boys and my Tav makes em get along, aster and Gale are forced to be brothers.

I completely agree. A playthrough where you make HONEST decisions without regard of what your companions think is even harder than pure evil playthrough. However, that is how you build approval for the character that matters the most: you 😉
@@SylvantessI actually do that. I played as my DND character, and just made the choices she would make. Karlach didn't like how happy I was to support the Thieves Guild, but she still loved me anyway.

@@skell6134Yeah shadowheart was so easy for me she went to exceptional in act 1. Seems like we were compatible a lot. I rarely spend time with wyll and gale but they were in exception at the end of the act 2 too. Karlach is an issue tho most of the act 2 I was with her she aproved everything I did her aprovel rate still in good for some reason. It increases inch by inch and started low neutral for some reason it sucks.

I'm laughing way too hard at Nixie licking Antrius's hand, it's a little detail and I didn't expect it but it fits so well, and the "mlem" noise just adds to it! Every 15 minutes in Faerûn, a half elf with black bangs gets roasted for her track record of missed attacks. With your help, we can make that 10 minutes.
You nailed it with the feeling guilty of letting companions in camp! It's the horror when you finally come to Baldurs gate, and you have to change them every corner because of the personal quests.
everything is so accurate I'm dying of laughter from the offhand comments by the companions to getting stopped in the tracks by "companion dissaproves" on top left hand corner to the loading screen and finally to Tav crossing their hands at every single cutscene, staying silent while companions talk, and even the setting & everything looks well thought out! AND the narrator too!
I really hope Tav becomes a frequent character like the Rogue Tabaxi or Vlythrin. The dynamics on this episode were so fun, i know it is probably Hard to introduce a character like that on the story, but it would be Amazing
The problem with Astarion is that the more you do his quest, the more sympathetic he becomes if you steer him right. He's still always kind of a bad person, but his stuff was done so well that it's hard to hold it against him.... unless you let him ascend.
I was floored that he literally switches his alignment from Neutral Evil to Chaotic Good by the epilogue party and becomes an adventuring hero who saves people. Like duuuude, slow down, it's only been a year. Have to wonder how many times Cazadors broke him up and rebuild him if THAT'S what Astarion does on the good route.
@@rosehill7919 I'm not surprised because he tried to spare his victims before. He was punished for it, obviously, and he most likely failed to save them from being taken away anyway. Hard not to give up on altruism and be a cynical dick who wants a role reversal and not salvation.
@@adnaP_esreveR well, Cazador also tried to spare his victims, and got it beaten out of him by Velioth. Guess the writers are really great in portraying the cycle of abuse, from Velioth to Cazador, from Cazador to Astarion. It's up to you if you'll help Astarion break that cycle, or become its next iteration. Glad to see, though, when given a nudge NOT to give in, even by a relatively remote and apathetic Tav that never became his friend and only spared Astarion enough attention to finish his quest, Astarion still chooses to be a hero if left a spawn.
@sunnyhill7919 Exactly. Cazador is equal parts pathetic and hateable, to me. Looking at him is uncomfortable, as he is a warning as to what Astarion *could* be, or any abuse victim, for that matter. You could be *that* guy who could never cope and instead made it everyone else's problem. And if you cast detect thoughts on him, Cazador isn't even happy. After all the lives he ruined, he is still fucking miserable, so it didn't even solve his fucking problem. It can't. But he doesn't know that, or refuses to see it (who would ever _want_ to accept that seeking power and subjugating people into never disobeying you... doesn't help with the fear of one day having another Velioth in your life, so you committed all those atrocities for nothing?) So he just keeps trying for more and more power, hoping he'll be satisfied, eventually. Who knows, maybe Velioth also had another vampire who was the exact same to him. Like you said, it's a cycle. Astarion breaking it is extremely satisfying to behold.

Of everything that was prepared on the Nexus for Baldur's Gate, I installed only one mod. Disable team restrictions. There are seven of us from the first location. And it's just amazing. When the whole team constantly interacts with each other, it’s simply amazing! and let no one remain in the camp
They're kind of a secret Easter egg in Deerstalker vids, too! 😆 They were in the Tiefling support group, and did several really hilarious early vids as Link - have you managed to spot them popping up anywhere else in here...?
Haven't thought about this until now, but have you guys thought about doing a 1 For All companions mod for bg3? Absolutely no idea how feasible that is.
Bro the Keyword here is companion. Not Tav himself. And even with the customization options i think a companion mod would be the better way to do it. Unless you want to play in a party with 3 other players and forcing them to play as Andrius, Nixie and Evandra. If thats the case, I wish you a lot of fun.@@Rattman_4126
Well technically you can download a mod for customizable hirelings and try to recreate them. First part not hard the second though.. might need more mods. And they won't have personality of theirs unfortunatly
Eh, Astarion is easy, he always approves when you are kind to animals, and you don't even have to let him out of the camp except for his quests because he gives tons of approval in his campscene as long as you are nice to him. The one I really struggle with is Shadowheart because she is always so RANDOM in her approvals, like she really can't decide if she should be a good little Sharran princess and approve of me being evil or if she should be the nice one. Guuuuurl, make up your mind!
@@rosehill7919 With Shadowheart, I noticed that she approves of deceit and trickery and disapproves of needless violence. She usually likes it when you're cunning and avoid battles if you can. Or delay them for a more advantageous time (Astarion also happens to enjoy this a lot, it's one of the more benign ways to get him to like you). Even if it's kinda mean for you to do so. Basically, she's OK with being *kind of* evil when it serves a purpose and isn't completely sadistic. This is probably the only teaching of Shar that she can actually adhere to without feeling terrible about herself. Probably why her domain is Trickery and not Death. Obviously, she also likes it when you help people. Playing a kind but pragmatic character maxed Shadowheart's approval in like Act 2 for me, I think? It also helps if you free her from her pod in the prologue. It warms her up to you very quickly, even if you're playing as a Gith. With a Selûnite I haven't checked. Also, obviously, don't judge her for her beliefs.
Perhaps it's for the best. If the BG3 facebook group screenshots have taught me anything, between those tattoos and being a tiefling, that Tav is DEFINITELY a Dark Urge.

The little detail of differently voiced lines is incredible. Like how it was in the game, how some voicelines were recorded at home offices or at a professional recording booth. Amazing touch to the even littlest detail.

Of everything that was prepared on the Nexus for Baldur's Gate, I installed only one mod. Disable team restrictions. There are seven of us from the first location. And it's just amazing. When the whole team constantly interacts with each other, it’s simply amazing! and let no one remain in the camp

Bro the Keyword here is companion. Not Tav himself. And even with the customization options i think a companion mod would be the better way to do it. Unless you want to play in a party with 3 other players and forcing them to play as Andrius, Nixie and Evandra. If thats the case, I wish you a lot of fun.@@Rattman_4126
Well technically you can download a mod for customizable hirelings and try to recreate them. First part not hard the second though.. might need more mods. And they won't have personality of theirs unfortunatly

This is why Astarion is *never* in party except for his personal quests, and a couple interactions with some NPCs.
Same goes for Lae'zel.
That annoying character stays in camp all the time.
He is lucky that I didn't stake him in act 1
Eh, Astarion is easy, he always approves when you are kind to animals, and you don't even have to let him out of the camp except for his quests because he gives tons of approval in his campscene as long as you are nice to him. The one I really struggle with is Shadowheart because she is always so RANDOM in her approvals, like she really can't decide if she should be a good little Sharran princess and approve of me being evil or if she should be the nice one. Guuuuurl, make up your mind!
@@rosehill7919 With Shadowheart, I noticed that she approves of deceit and trickery and disapproves of needless violence. She usually likes it when you're cunning and avoid battles if you can. Or delay them for a more advantageous time (Astarion also happens to enjoy this a lot, it's one of the more benign ways to get him to like you). Even if it's kinda mean for you to do so. Basically, she's OK with being *kind of* evil when it serves a purpose and isn't completely sadistic. This is probably the only teaching of Shar that she can actually adhere to without feeling terrible about herself. Probably why her domain is Trickery and not Death.
Obviously, she also likes it when you help people. Playing a kind but pragmatic character maxed Shadowheart's approval in like Act 2 for me, I think? It also helps if you free her from her pod in the prologue. It warms her up to you very quickly, even if you're playing as a Gith. With a Selûnite I haven't checked.
Also, obviously, don't judge her for her beliefs.
Damn good work with those costumes, also i would love if Evandra, Nixie and Antrius were in game. BG 3 def needs more characters like that xD

...on the one hand, Tav looks amazing and the video is really well made. On the other hand the idea of trying to romance evil characters with a non-evil PC... confuses me? I mean, why. You wanna save the orphans, you save the orphans and get companions who will approve it, at least that's how my brain works? But then maybe you don't want to do that because your main charrie this time is about as crazy as Nixie in which case... y'know.
