    I have a Tatula 100 and a 13 Origin FB. I love them both. The 13 casts further hands down but is louder than my tatula. The Tat reels smoother for me. Either company is a great choice.

    Barefoot in November.. I must admit that I am jealous! The highs have been in the upper 40s with the lows in the upper 20s here and water temp has already dropped below 50..
    On my reels with centrifugal brakes, I tend to run them with only 1 of them on and have my spool tension set to where there is just a tiny bit of play if I try to move it side to side and don't really have any issues with backlashes. On my reels with Magnetic brakes, I tend to run them at roughly 30-40% on. With some of the shimanos with dual braking, I have only 1 of the centrifugal brakes on and the magnetic set to about 2. It gives me a ton of casting distance and if I'm casting into the wind, I usually just have to thumb the spool slightly in the very beginning of the cast.
    That being said, to each their own! I have a friend that runs super tight spool tension and super tight brakes to avoid backlashes but he always complains about crappy casting distance lolol.

    • @TackleJunky81
      @TackleJunky81  3 роки тому +1

      Definitely some unusual weather we're having, but I'll take it! If I ran this reel on 1 and didn't backlash I'd probably empty the spool, lol Appreciate you watching my dude! 👊💪

    • @FishingThePNW
      @FishingThePNW 3 роки тому

      @@TackleJunky81 Yeah, that just goes to show how good the casting distance is! I know some people with ridiculous casting distance because they use 0 brakes all the time and control with their thumb. They even do it with 5+ oz swimbaits. I don't think I could get myself to try that and risk an expensive bait!

    I didn't mind my original Z's... but I will be the first to say a similarly priced shimano or daiwa just out preforms. I do love my concept a for punching though, tons of drag

      @@TackleJunky81 I got the Fate Black combo bright green pole and black reel on a sale that Stix Fishing told me about for 50 bucks shipped. ( normally 149.00) it's really smooth and the pole is really nice 👌 Then I got the same reel in white I paired with a St.Croix Premier so both are great but the Premier is a much nicer pole. But for the little bit I've used them I'd say they're good.
