Glad you are stepping into higher end reels, and I am with you 💯 those orange knobs would have to be changed😂 One thing I notice on reels is their secondary market value and the longevity of the product. Do another review next year same time after you’ve really tested it out. Keep up your success Hank✊😎🎣💰

This is a pretty cool reel. I also had concerns about the magnetic backlash placement. One other feature i though was cool i didn't hear you mention or maybe you did and i missed it was the lure cutout spot on the reel. So you can hook your lure right onto the reel. I do that with alot of my reels so to have a specific spot is very cool. Its just a simple groove on top of the reel just above the spool but comes in very handy. The orange handle grips surprisingly help you see the reel handle under low light conditions. Looks like a solid overall reel. Fish on!!

Solid review Hank! I’m a fan of the 13Fishing lure lineup,but from a rod/reel standpoint,they haven’t and will likely never win me over. Those loud,obnoxious,and outlandish color schemes are impossible for me to get past. It just looks cheap. I really wish they’d quit that crap,to be quite honest. But a lot of that is my quirky OCD talking. Great vid as always,Hank! And I enjoyed the heck out of your live session with Welcher last night. Kyle’s my dude!

Sooo I’m new to 13fishing I went the curado/slx dC route… so I figured I’d try their equal value 13F competition. So I went with the concept C2 and I have the inception and wow super light, fantastic casting. And with the white color I know it’s an 8speed reel. Out of my arsenal. Very impressed great video hank!!

I've had that reel for over a year now. It's holding up nicely, looks great and feels great to cast. One one the best reels I've had. I don't use the slide feature much though.

I love the look of that reel. I have a 13 fishing ice combo, but haven't pulled the trigger on any of their open water stuff. I really like the style of their stuff so I may commit to trying them soon.

I don’t have this reel but i bought the green inception z for a hundred dollars it was pretty much new and i put it on my googan go to rod and dude I can cast that thing farther than having a Curado on it and curados were my favorite. I move it over sometimes and pitch with it to my flipping stick and it never back lashes 13 fishing are really starting to impress me. Especially seeing all the pros go to them. Thinking about going all cashion on my rods what’s your thoughts on that ? I have a few favorite pro series as well but I’ve had a few favorite rods break. And yeah I wish that reall was around the 200 dollar range
I like the look of that Reel a lot. I was able to get the Inception and I really like this Reel, it casts a Mile and is crazy smooth and the Aluminum Frame seems well made and sturdy. The Origin Chrome is on sale now at TW for 37 bucks but it seems like any other Graphite Reel out there with Centrifugal Brakes but it is a nice looking Reel decked out all Chrome. Great Video my Friend
It seems to be a good reel but it's also got it's bugs for sure.
I bought a Curado k last year for 189.99 and feel it is a real good reel

I think that's what most anglers want to know. Most of us don't give 2 shizztzz how many bearings at in it.

If I needed a reel I'd probably give it a shot. Most of my favorites are Diawa Tatula and Shimano DC but looks like a decent reel.
It's always good to try new things.
1st Kyle Welcher now 13 gear, that's very very strange?? I've got a couple 13 reels and they've been pretty good. Now they're not Shimano but they are good

Love this series. I’ve started mix and matching my reels with different rods after hearing you’re insights. What a difference. I’ve found some gem combos with reels that I just didn’t seem to like initially. Moved my black max abu over to a medium power moderate action rod. super shallow cranking combo now. Also started to mess around with reel speeds. I agree it’s easier for me to speed up then slow down.
Nice! Yeah there are just some combos you can put together from different brands and they are off the chart
Bought two Concept Zs a few years ago when I got them half price on Black Friday, was awesome for a while, could cast a weightless fluke a country mile but after a year they went south, could only throw heavy jigs and they sounded horrible , went full shimano after that, no way could I pay $275 when I can get a Chronarch MGL or JDM Metanium MGL for around the same price , they do look sleek though

I had the same exact problem. I think the nylon bearings melted. I replaced them with Abec 7 ceramic bearings. I ordered them direct from China, took about a month to come in but fixed it up silky smooth again. Only cost about 4 bucks a bearing.
@@rogercroteau1652 I heard the bushings wear out, replaced one reel with Spool Speed Bearings, just got louder , now I used the heck out of them, I fish 300+ days a year and I've went through some reels but these went pretty quick

Stick with Shimano, its hard to go backwards plus you can get a Chronarch MGL or JDM Metanium MGL for around the same price
I was able to get a like new sport Z for a great price on the eBay and it absolutely bombs everything I toss. I like the 13 Fishing Reels a lot and I saw where there is an Inception slide coming out soon I believe and that may be a phenomenal Reel for the price. I think it’s going to be around 140 or so.

Flukemaster has been using these for year's. They must be fairly decent. Of course I bought a upper end Lew's in 2019 for 279.99 and it's a piece of 💩 and I have a Lew's LFS that's a 100 buck's and it's actually awesome, plan to buy one more for another one of my rod's. I would consider the concept 13 but not this model because of the slide. I have a Lew's that has orange handles and their nasty and I clean my reel's and rod's with cleaning wipe regularly.

I have to agree with you on the LFS, I love mine been using it for two years now.
I think you are too generous. 3.5 of 5. Good- Casts well, looks solid, somewhat lightweight, fairly innovative are the best of this reel. Mixed - Drag stable locked down tells us little if you don’t tighten it down all the way. Bad The colors, plastic switch cheapens the reel. Those bushings they use instead of bearings.
It could go there but it does cast a mile

I like the orange but it reminds me of the white grips on my Veritas plx, after a little while it gets so dirty it looks gross to touch, I know its the same amount of fishing grim on black handles but my plx has pure brown grips

I consider my 6.8 oz tournament pro super light. But I fish a few 2 and 300 size reels mainly.

It almost time here in ohio just purchase my first trashmaster jig and thank for the info on spinning reel found a 7ft med heavy rod and also purchase some Rapala shallow rap shad and two deep the trashmaster jig is a light one but going to get some heavy two since the lake i fish is grassy so it will be fun when they are in pre spawn swimming it and hopping it off the bottom so looking forward in new videos also going to Fremont next month white bass time and walleye using keitech on them

I like the concept c2 the origin c is also a good reel for a budget reel. I'm not a big fan of the slider either the one I got to play with just didn't work for me.

Maybe it’s just me but spending over $100 on a reel that doesn’t say Shimano or Daiwa on it seems silly. Once you get past the $200 mark there’s not a chance I’m not looking at Daiwa and Shimano exclusively. From what I can find all the other companies are just glorified resellers. They all use one of a few OEM’s and just change them to their liking. A Currado MGL and a Tatula flip/pitch or Tatula sv are all cheaper than this reel. Again maybe it’s just me.
