Thank you for doing the in-season walk arounds. Outside all the time and knowing what I am seeing when I am seeing it is so very helpful. It is particularly useful seeing the seasonal stages of the mushroom, rather than just the picture perfect version. Next best thing to having our own local guide! Much appreciated.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience. I'm going out a lot more this time of year to observe and take notice of the species you document in your monthly installments. Great vids (well edited and narrated).
LOL. I love how Gunnar winked at you then gives a little whistle when you ask if its time to go. Really cool info about the Lichen Agaric too! I learn so much from this channel. I can't wait to hear the results on the mushrooms you send to Alan.
Hey fellow forager! I’m living up in Government Camp and while hunting last fall I noticed so many beautiful mushrooms and this began my passion for foraging. Glad I found your channel, it’s been a great source for expanding my knowledge as a amateur shroom hunter. Keep it up and feel free to respond if you’re ever up in the Mount Hood national forest area- it’d be great to team up sometime. I’d like to see what I could learn out in the field with someone verses simply coming home to cross check my photos with Google searches. Cheers!
Always love to see the Fomitopsis. Great find for a survivalist. No activity here in Mnts of N. Ga. But it's been a good damp spring so far. Can't wait for all the Chanties this year.
Thank you so much. This came just in time. My wife and i are looking for a place to move from ca to either tumwater or evertte area. We were on the whidbey island. This is our first foraging trip ever. We found the ginger tail and entoloma/nolenea almost right away. And later we found galerina vittiformis gr. We also saw a good amount of old turkey tail. And found a few almost white looking turkey tail. Can turkey tail get like washed of its color? We found some very ornge capped. Dark orange gills. And dark orange rusty stipe. Bruised like a rust color. It was on a pld down log. Unfortunately we do not know our trees yet. The red belted conk and the other black conk. We will be moving to washington in may and cant wait to get into the fungi community out here. And would love to learn so much more from you. Thank you
.😁🍄. Its March a tree I Bern by a lit has what looks like lots of reishi high on the tree. Highest I seen em off ground. There was also one that might be a black foot all I know is it has these brown red gilles. It was the only one of this kind. Hard but I did get it to fall off the tree. Looks like it would be that brown red reishi, can have but this shroom, is dark & old looking but I never saw this tree with mushrooms on it b4. Unless I was blind to them but I doubt it. How could a tree be new with mushrooms but they may look old & passed use. I don't know what shroom, it is. I took it to id but dunno if I found it online. Hmmmm 🤔. Oh couple weeks back on a lawn was a big bundle of reishi. 1st try no struggle, all mine. I tossed out the parts that later had a silver moldy blue start on it. Broke up the rest into chunks & have used some allready. No more is it mushy & wet, its crispy now but not hard as a rock.✌
0 seconds ago the ones on tree high up the bottom is poly pour & I thought there reishi, but you know the conks, @ 13:02 seem like same bottom. Could be my 1st time I'm aware seeing cons maybe. Now I'm in the eastt cost if tat helps ppl reading this. Looks like I'd need like a cherry picker or the tree to fall to fully seem em & maybe take em. Could be reushi, dunno. The other one is big by the way I mentioned b4.
Thanks so much for the videos! I have been watching throughout the 'off' season, and I can't wait for my first mushroom hunts. Is there a specific elevation range where we're more likely to find success? I notice you have been spending most of your time around sea level. I'm closer to Rainier and didn't know if maybe I should head lower.
You should be fine there, plenty of mushrooms all over if you slow down and start looking close. Morels are starting to pop up too. If you can get on the east side of Rainier there is great morel picking!
If you're on Instagram get ahold of me @mushroom.wonderland, I can hook you up with some stickers, and there's still a few hats for sale but no shirts yet. I bought just a small line of merchandise to see if people would like them, so I think I will order more soon! Thanks for watching 🍄🤙
I'm moving from AZ to WA state...and I cannot wait to go foraging! I can't imagine a more beautiful place than the PNW 💕🌱🍄🌷
You got that right! But bring a coat! And boots!

Yeah I really like the idea of doing a month by month field trip. We are in a first year living here in NorCal and your vids have been very helpful

What camera do you use? The quality is amazing.
Thank you, this was actually shot on a Samsung Galaxy S21. It shoots great macro video!🤙🍄
is alpine jelly edible?
very cool video ! new subscriber !
😎 🍄 👍🏼
Great video..whereabouts in the USA was it though? i wasn't sure.. also, the type of trees where you were finding them?
(that was a joke... i know you Americans, better explain before someone sues me! Great vids though.. very inspirational and i'm in the UK too)
My patches in Seattle have been really sparse since this time last year, from the drought last summer I'm guessing... hopefully this summer is wetter
Any trails near Seattle that you can get to without a car?
How do we buy MW hats or sweaters??

Killer stuff!
Should have taken the Trametes Versicolor with you and made use of it, rather than leave it to rot.
I have so many of them honestly. Didn't really have anything to collect mushrooms in. I'd rather just let the carbon go back to the forest.
