This will be so tragic As we see the parallels of Ace and Garp dying in the same way. Also that line from kuzan " you have the habit of raising enemies".. Like that was cold. Ace Luffy Dragon and now Kuzan😭😭Garp's life💔💔 Also, is Kuzan good or bad? The answer is there in that line. Garo raised enemies but there's a common point among those enemies. (Kuzan right now for me is one of the best characters of one piece). My thought is too Garp won't die because BB will use Pudding to get more info from Garp about God Valley and more stuff. Another thing is we don't know yet what debt Kuzan owes to Garp that he told Luffy.
Jay's reaction is the first I see, then Rogersbase, GrandlineReview, and when all the boys have done their part, I just like to chill with your take on this..the sister of this community, a wholesome time in the end.
I think Garp's reflexes are just so fast that even if the enemy is invisible to him, he is fast enough to react and grab them Kuzan is either pursuing his own justice, in which case Garp can escape, if he is undercover, then its important enough that he cant let Garp escape I agree that Garp shouldnt die, its too small of stage for him. Plus even Blackbeard would want him alive. Though its not too late for him to pull a Whitebeard
You say his death would be meaningless given that his crew decided to stay, which is true, but he might end up forcing them to leave (like literally throwing them on the ship, which he could 100% do) and still stay behind and “sacrifice” himself so they can escape.
I love the conflict in Garp, a few panels before he tell Kuzan about Luffy and Dragon saying I wont stand for it he was also saying something along the line of his freedom beeing very important and because of that he respect their choice even tho he hates it lol
I think Kuzan is going to repeat his stance at Ohara. He’s gonna “kill” his friend (whether this time happens or not, yeah, idk), and then try to fix it by helping the one that friend wants to protect. Take that as you wish
Your idea of the Garp, Dragon, Luffy it's awesome and if Garp do die in the next chapters, we can have it with Luffy, Sabo and Coby as the three paths and the inherited will of Garp and Dragon
Thanks for giving cred to JayDLegend, one of my favorite One Piece tuber whom I especially loved when talking about Yamato being like " I don't wanna hear no debate; That's Kaido's son and an Oden wannabe, that's manliness right there"
That’s a great theory about Garp, Dragon, and Luffy all standing together against the WG and I’d absolutely love to see Garp stomp Akainu as revenge for Ace, but I think it’s more likely that we’ll end up seeing Koby, Sabo, and Luffy, keeping with the theme of the new generation supplanting/surpassing the old. I really hope Garp and Dragon are watching from another area of the eventual final fight though, because we’ve only had a glimpse of Garp’s true power and we haven’t even seen what Dragon can do yet.
Killing garp here would be dumb. To me I see Garp later on helping in Taking down the celestial dragons. If Garp does dies like ppl think he will eventually it should be a cool sacrifice in a vital moment was key to taking down the celestial dragons control of the world.
Thank you for noticing Garp grabbing a hold of Shiryu, trying to stop him from going all the way to the hilt. You can tell how collected and focused Garp is, even knowing that the only thing he can do to protect Koby is take this hit, but at least he can reduce some of the damage by holding his shoulder and pushing. Awesome detail!
I missed your chapter reviews! I don’t comment often but I’ve watched your One Piece reviews over and over again as I’m at work or just walking down the street. You are such a delight to listen to and I’m so happy I get to listen to you talk about this series :))
Kuzan has no reason to go this far for BB unless the result of his success benefits him as well. I feel like instead of passively watching Nico Robin find out the true history of the world, Kuzan is taking a more active role through BB. It explains why he lead the capture of Pudding as well. We know Kuzan has his problems with the WGs definition of justice, but despite that, he has no other direction to take for his own. I believe, as long as he can find answers, he'll work with whoever to get results.
Kuzan does keep saying "I can't just let you do that" or "I can't just let you go" Kuzan believes that if Garp's mission is successful under his watch then he may lose out on something. Maybe Blackbeard will lose trust in him or turn against him too early. For whatever the reason, Blackbeard's success will bring Kuzan closer to his own goal
I always return to the words Kuzan gave Smoker after saving him from Doflamingo. "I'm still me Smoker." That to me, tells me Kuzan is still one of the good guys.
I think he's still good. The fact that he keeps using the exact words "I cant let you leave" like its out of his hands because if he lets garp leave, if he doesn't genuinely try to stop him in this moment it would destroy everything he's been working towards since leaving the marines.
Aww, it is from you that I got the good news today (I read the official translation usually). Also, I now own a T-shirt with the same Strawhat Jolly Roger print that you do, I saw it in your videos and I loved it. Thank you, nakama.
I was waiting to watch your video because I only read the official translations and not the scans, but I 100% agree that this was a 10/10 chapter. Kuzan has been one of my favorite characters since Enies Lobby and I'm so glad we finally got to see more of his backstory and how he joined up with BB in the first place. I still think he hasn't completely turned pirate yet and has some ulterior motive, especially since he knew so much about SWORD in that one chapter and part of me thinks he isn't really trying to kill Garp here. That being said, I would love to see Smoker come in next chapter to save Garp (especially with Tashigi on the threatened ship) and finally do something really significant in the story.
New to your channel but I have come across you n saw your videos sometime ago, i like your personality and can sense how u r curious about things n how detailed u r, best obs haki ofcourse. I like how you put your passion to the videos cus i feel through the screen, amazing how u appreciate every small things too.
this chapter was AWESOME. nothing too crazy happened, no world-shifting revelations: just Garp beating the tar outta some chumps with his trusty sidekicks. i have been dying to see Garp in action for so long, and it is amazing to finally see him throw REAL hands also, they reveal that he and Kuzan used to punch BATTLESHIPS without any Haki for training is so cool to see. it sucks that they're on warring sides now but its good to know that at one point they truly were close-knit comrades. man i love One Piece
He snapped his fingers and creat spark to ignite like Mustang did in FMA. Edit: I think Kuzan will stop Pizarro' attack since there are civilians on the ship and his pstd from Ohara incident will kick in.
It's amazing what Oda has done with Kuzan. When young Sabo died, everyone knew he was alive, there was no doubt, and similarly with Kuzan, people always assumed he was a double agent and isn't really tuning on the marines, like Drake for example. But now I'm seeing people doubting Kuzan and some even believe he's gone full bad guy, and that's not an easy feat to trick your readers like that
I really am not versed in this, but going by what I've seen of Karate-ka would chop brick and woods and so on, practice is key. They chop stuff so often so their bones in their hands micro-fracture again and again and mend again and again, increasing the sturdiness of these bones. I think this is the concept Oda goes for with Garps training, and I'd argue the increasing intensity in the sound effects of Aokijis punches hammers that home, imo. Also, Garp adressing Shiryuu as "brat from Impel Down" or sth is just hilarious
I know, other people are still believing that Garp is gonna live until the end. But for me, if Garp dies, the story is definitely gonna move forward. Garp dying is a major major plot because everybody knows him I know, we still need to see Luffy and Garp reunion BUT i think if Garp dies, Luffy vs Blackbeard is gonna be even more emotional. Luffy's anger to Blackbeard and Garp dying is not gonna be like the samurai, you know, Kinemon and Kiku surviving. But it's up to Oda, definitely
You really see these Duos: Whitebeard bets on Ace Sengoku bets on Rosinante and then on Kuzan While Rosinante bets on Law Dragon bets on Sabo Shanks and Rayleigh bet on Luffy Hiruluk bets on Chopper Garp bets on Coby Jeff bets on Sanji Magellan bets on Hanyabal and what we saw in Punk Hazard: Kuzan bets on Smoker This is the inherited will in action! Only sometimes it works and sometimes not. The teacher and apprentice in so many variations. They care for them, they protect them, they teach them their values.
What i love about Garp its tha even if he disapprove of Luffy´s and Dragon´s decisions, like them he care about freedom over anything else. You cant tell me that as powerfull as Garp is, if he really wanted he could have stop his son and grandson when they werent as strong as they are now and force them to be marines or at the very least prevent them to go the routs they take, but he didnt. Yes he desapprove, yes he complains a lot and yes he chew Luffys ears off every time he see him, but he never actively try to stop them with all his migth (that include Sabo, and although he didnt "save" Ace of his fate, that infamous punch from Luffy can tell us a lot of his state of mind in that moment)
I love that we get a little more about what has happen to garp and how he thinks. Kuzan and Garps relationship is on thin ice 🥶 I wander if either one of them can fully defeat the other.
My theory about the glug glug fruit is that it’s a reality manipulation power that get stronger when he drinks more. So alcohol is more of a fuel for his power rather than something he manipulates.
I don’t think Garp is dead. If this is where he dies I’d be pretty disappointed with how Oda handled it. He’s built up to be very important, yet he hasn’t done a whole lot in the story thus far. But more importantly D’s die with a smile. Garp was not smiling.
If Garp dies it should be in helping with a vital moment in taking down the celestial dragons. He's not exactly a fan of them. Seems like if pirates weren't a thing he would fight against them instead.
Merphy, don't forget Luffy can create fire out of nowhere using haki. So maybe that's all that is. Vasco is haking his fingers and snapping them so hard they make a spark.
5:05 to be fair, it's Helmeppo. In a similar vein to Usopp, I think it says more about him that he's terrified but still made the choice to be there anyways.
One thing I think similar to the idea of your head canon, is gonna be similar, but instead of Luffy Garp and Dragon, it will be more with the inherited wills, so it would be Luffy Sabo and Coby
Coby's observation is about sensing others pain and agony thought, thats what happened at Marineford, its inline with who coby is and i dont understand the random hate whenever a "weak" character doesn't do some "cool" stuff. Garp himself implied that shiryu's aim was to stab him and not coby.
Kuzan good. I actually think he won the fight against Akainu but decided to leave the marines to go solo. He wants to know what the government is hiding to know why Ohara had to happen. I think he wants to keep tabs on Blackbeard just in case he gets too dangerous for the world, but also want to know the truth.
I feel like there are only two outcomes for this scenario: garp dies or garp is captured/incapacitated. Because what would be the point of the entire coby getting captured storyline, if garp is successful in saving everyone.
This chapter sets up Koby to unlock Conqueror's imo, him gaining the power and using it to stop Pizarro from crushing the ship would be so cool (and parallel Luffy in Marineford)
Kuzan is definitely still the same person he was after O'Hara. He's always been willing to delve into darkness, but he's never been consumed by it. That's what separates him from the lawful good of Fujitora and more of a lawful neutral He does not like who the Blackbeard pirates are, just as before, but if helping them will bring him closer to whatever his end goal is, he'll do it. All of Garp's children will achieve good through other means than his own
This how I want the story to go: 1. Everybody escapes but garp is taken prisoner 2. BB decides to sell him to buggy for the bounty, but being the strategist he his, he makes a plan with him. They'll make a public execution for Garp to lure Luffy in and defeat him together. That way they both get the Poneglyphs and get closer to the One Piece. 3. Luffy and Coby join forces and face this new Yonko allience in Hachinosu - a parallel to Garp/Roger vs Rocks
I think theres a cool, quick little comparison between Garp and Luffy's differing philosophy in that flashback. Young Garp believes being solidary will make him free. Luffy, on the other hand, wants to be the most free in his journey to be pirate king and builds a crew specifically for that reason.
I think Garp knew this about the Govt from the start. When you see his flashback with Luffy and he tells Luffy "You must become the Strongest Marine". This seems like a pretty uncharacteristic thing for a loafer like Garp to say. Unless he has something specifically in mind. Like tearing down the Govt one day.
Idk if Kuzan is good or bad, but him throwing that “you have a habit of raising enemies” line in Garp’s face? After Garp confided in him? I bellowed “OH YOU TREACHEROUS BASTARD!” In my living room scandalizing my kid and my cat. No matter what at this point I won’t forgive him. I took this real personally lol.
theres also the time after punk hazzard where Kuzan saves Smoker from Doffy which was also after he joined Blackbeard so his loyalty in my eyes is dubious, but i do believe Kuzan is playing the long game and isnt actually gonna stay with BB

Also that line from kuzan " you have the habit of raising enemies".. Like that was cold. Ace Luffy Dragon and now Kuzan😭😭Garp's life💔💔
Also, is Kuzan good or bad? The answer is there in that line. Garo raised enemies but there's a common point among those enemies. (Kuzan right now for me is one of the best characters of one piece).
My thought is too Garp won't die because BB will use Pudding to get more info from Garp about God Valley and more stuff. Another thing is we don't know yet what debt Kuzan owes to Garp that he told Luffy.
I think Garp won't die because he serves much more than Koby for BB's objective of trying to have Hachinosu recognized as a WG associated country.
@@trollofjom do you read scan translation or official... I'll speak after learning that🙂🙂
Jay's reaction is the first I see, then Rogersbase, GrandlineReview, and when all the boys have done their part, I just like to chill with your take on this..the sister of this community, a wholesome time in the end.
I think Garp's reflexes are just so fast that even if the enemy is invisible to him, he is fast enough to react and grab them
Kuzan is either pursuing his own justice, in which case Garp can escape, if he is undercover, then its important enough that he cant let Garp escape
I agree that Garp shouldnt die, its too small of stage for him.
Nah he has to give akainu a good ol' ass beating before dying lol
I love the conflict in Garp, a few panels before he tell Kuzan about Luffy and Dragon saying I wont stand for it he was also saying something along the line of his freedom beeing very important and because of that he respect their choice even tho he hates it lol
I think Kuzan is going to repeat his stance at Ohara. He’s gonna “kill” his friend (whether this time happens or not, yeah, idk), and then try to fix it by helping the one that friend wants to protect. Take that as you wish
*GARP. IS. D. LEGEND.* Aw man he might even be more obnoxious and ridiculous than Luffy or Dragon...
garp is gonna die just like jiraiya

"Justice will prevail", I agree, you always have to rebel against injustice.
I mean, Wanze made fire by skating, while unsnorting noodles out his nose. So Vasco Shot making fire by snapping his fingers really fast is tots legit
I like the idea that Vasco Shot creates fire just by snapping his fingers really fast. That would be a good One Piece explanation.
The cutest thing i heard was the business you got going on Merph, the t shirt, mugs and all❤❤❤
Your idea of the Garp, Dragon, Luffy it's awesome and if Garp do die in the next chapters, we can have it with Luffy, Sabo and Coby as the three paths and the inherited will of Garp and Dragon
I read the chapter with Beethoven's Symphony No. 3 and it blew my mind.
LOVE when Merphy makes new words. Will definitely be using “finute”
I like the dad and son reference
Kuzan- elder son
Grus- the middle child ( always ignored)
Coby- youngest child and favourite
I missed your chapter reviews! I don’t comment often but I’ve watched your One Piece reviews over and over again as I’m at work or just walking down the street. You are such a delight to listen to and I’m so happy I get to listen to you talk about this series :))
When kuzan said "You Have A Habit Of Rising Enemies" That really hurt me, and I felt very sad for garp, oda and his one liners are just great
Kuzan has no reason to go this far for BB unless the result of his success benefits him as well.
Kuzan does keep saying "I can't just let you do that" or "I can't just let you go"
Kuzan believes that if Garp's mission is successful under his watch then he may lose out on something. Maybe Blackbeard will lose trust in him or turn against him too early.
For whatever the reason, Blackbeard's success will bring Kuzan closer to his own goal
Happy birthday to your daughter, may she grow up to be as amazing as the women in this series.
The fire is probably a Fullmetal alchemist type of things, how Roy's gloves produced a spark when he snapped.
I always return to the words Kuzan gave Smoker after saving him from Doflamingo. "I'm still me Smoker." That to me, tells me Kuzan is still one of the good guys.
Pure Alcohol is highly flammable, with a little bit of fire he makes by flicking his finger like a flint makes him a human flamethrower.
I love this parallel...
A devilfruit user (guse, ruffy) a swordsman (helmeppo, zorro) a kindhearted martial arts fighter (corby, sanji)
this chapter was AWESOME. nothing too crazy happened, no world-shifting revelations: just Garp beating the tar outta some chumps with his trusty sidekicks. i have been dying to see Garp in action for so long, and it is amazing to finally see him throw REAL hands
also, they reveal that he and Kuzan used to punch BATTLESHIPS without any Haki for training is so cool to see. it sucks that they're on warring sides now but its good to know that at one point they truly were close-knit comrades.
man i love One Piece
I didn't expect Merphy would reaxr to a single chapter, not that I'm complaining.
But now I'm seeing people doubting Kuzan and some even believe he's gone full bad guy, and that's not an easy feat to trick your readers like that
True. i think kuzan is lost guy which led him to this. Saul will be his turning point to his character.
Garp dying is a major major plot because everybody knows him
I know, we still need to see Luffy and Garp reunion BUT i think if Garp dies, Luffy vs Blackbeard is gonna be even more emotional. Luffy's anger to Blackbeard and Garp dying is not gonna be like the samurai, you know, Kinemon and Kiku surviving. But it's up to Oda, definitely
9:49 Merphy with the Garp agenda. Love to see it👏👏👏
You really see these Duos:
Whitebeard bets on Ace
Sengoku bets on Rosinante and then on Kuzan
While Rosinante bets on Law
Dragon bets on Sabo
Shanks and Rayleigh bet on Luffy
Hiruluk bets on Chopper
Garp bets on Coby
Jeff bets on Sanji
Magellan bets on Hanyabal
and what we saw in Punk Hazard:
Kuzan bets on Smoker
This is the inherited will in action! Only sometimes it works and sometimes not.
The teacher and apprentice in so many variations. They care for them, they protect them, they teach them their values.
A dedicated single review video for a Garp centered chapter from Merphy? Let's go.
Marine ships are also coated with sea stone for calm belt shenanigans, and they're still punching through them.
Hearing Merphy call me nakama made my day
19:00 I hope you're right. I don't think Garp will survive to the end of One Piece, but this doesn't feel like his place to die.
It’s so funny to me that Garp threw his grandson in the jungle to fend for himself, then was surprised he grew up to be a pirate. He’ll be missed. 🫡
I love that we get a little more about what has happen to garp and how he thinks. Kuzan and Garps relationship is on thin ice 🥶 I wander if either one of them can fully defeat the other.
Merphy's "Oh shit" gave me the impact of garp being stab all over again
Happy birthday to your daughter, your videos rock.
My theory about the glug glug fruit is that it’s a reality manipulation power that get stronger when he drinks more. So alcohol is more of a fuel for his power rather than something he manipulates.
I have a feeling that the final evolution or “awakening” of the invisibility fruit does something to make you undetectable even to Observation Haki.
8:07 my Birthday Brother getting the hit on a legend like the GOAT he is
One Piece is back and we are eating good... really nice chapter. I liked how much Garp-Kuzan relationship was developed further in just a few pages!
I love this disaster of a grampa so much, and if we ever get a OP prequel spin-off I hope to death that it is Garp's.
great review. 10/10 indeed. i hope garp doesn't die.
@@danieln6700yes. This would be a very anticlimactic death for him. I give Oda more credit than to kill off a key character like this
Merphy, don't forget Luffy can create fire out of nowhere using haki. So maybe that's all that is. Vasco is haking his fingers and snapping them so hard they make a spark.
okay now we need this read tru weekly please thank you
for Kuzan I think he isn't a double agent, he see Blackbeard as the best way to get what he want so he's going along with him
5:05 to be fair, it's Helmeppo.
I think he wants to keep tabs on Blackbeard just in case he gets too dangerous for the world, but also want to know the truth.
i think he created the fire similar to Sanjis diable jambe and and Luffys Red Hawk
Exactly! As my wife says, this man is to be protected.
The goat is back! Merphy strikes again!😊
Kuzan is definitely still the same person he was after O'Hara. He's always been willing to delve into darkness, but he's never been consumed by it.
That's what separates him from the lawful good of Fujitora and more of a lawful neutral
He does not like who the Blackbeard pirates are, just as before, but if helping them will bring him closer to whatever his end goal is, he'll do it.
All of Garp's children will achieve good through other means than his own
"I have no sympathy for criminals... But for my family, I do."
Easiest way to break me of all-time.
You know the One Piece addiction is real when you have to rush to scans as soon as they appear :p
Merphy being so impatient she reacted to a chapter before the official release? That's a new one but I'm here for it.
The cliff at the end of this chapter was so steep !! Can’t wait for the next chapter
This how I want the story to go:
1. Everybody escapes but garp is taken prisoner
