The only time I partnered up with someone, we made it half way through the Tahoe Rim Trail---same, amicable split, AND we were able to stay better friends!! lolol!! :) Thank you for sharing!!!
I agree with ya #2 Pencil , a person just needs to hike at their own pace. What you've experienced is even when hiking "alone", you're never really alone. Hey on your battery pack, are you sleeping with it in your bag on the cold nights? I figured out to Not charge your phone, etc overnight. The cold, plus charging at night will drain down your battery bank very quickly! I'm enjoying your videos so far!! Keep it up!
Solo hiking is the only way to hike long distance. Either you have to slow down or speed up which is not comfortable, or the other person has to either speed up or slow down and they aren’t happy. Day hikes are different.
I'm enjoying following along. The scenery is spectacular. Stay safe in the snow. Remember you're from the southern state of the Georgia not from the country in Europe.
Warner Springs is my go to spot to do Trail Magic. Sad I missed you and Freakout. Also sad the two of you aren't hiking together anymore, but it is what it is. LOL at the cow interview. I'll be section hiking this coming weekend. Starting near Mike's Place and hiking to PVC. Tillamook? is in Oregon. That would be a long field trip for the kids. Hopefully you've made it to Idyllwild by now. I'd assume you'll skip up to Black Mountain Road and avoid the snow. Right now it's crampon and iceaxe conditions above 8,000 feet. Maybe even 7,000 feet by now. Anyway great video. Enjoying following along on your journey.

About 4’ hard pack at San Jacinto from the report yesterday , with fresh snow on top of that. The top snow should be packed down by the time you get there, if storm don’t come in. Stay warm, take your gear if you go.
