In SoCal what you needed for your bag was a Mexican alterations shop, not a tailor. They're relatively common. - Did you hear about the cableway up the east side of Mount San Jacinto?
There was actually a luggage repair store in my town for awhile. They fixed my gear a few times. Maybe a shoe repair shop or saddle and tack shop too. Good luck!!

Mike would do well to put in some time and effort to clean up his property and get rid of all the junk, then put in more time and effort to at least do some deferred maintenance. At least he provides water, much needed in that area.
So I'm somewhat disappointed in the famed Mikes Place! Looks like it's been rode hard and put away wet one too many times. Was there anyone around or was it deserted? But if nothing else the water supply would make it worth the time to swing in.
