The only reasonable explanation would be disability preventing long term standing, but that is why most venues generally have a disability access area section. Others use the front row seats as a one size fits all. Edit: I have disabilities that prevent long term standing. I just don't go to concerts.

I'm disabled and can't stand up for long periods but I can't imagine bothering someone and ruining their experience - it is expected that most people stand up at concerts. I always feel bad when performers say "get up dance along" and I am up and down like a yo-yo trying to get in on the fun 😅

@charliefuller8538 I've never once been to a large venue concert where people actually sat in their seats. The only time I've seen it was at small venues with a bar. Even then, people were sitting on the actual bar instead of the seats.

I had a similar experience at a concert in October where a lady kept telling me and my mom to sit down while literally everyone else was standing up because her mom couldn’t see, but that’s not our fault. We bought the tickets, we’re gonna appreciate our seats and try to get the best experience possible.

If I can't see at a concert (I'm 5'3") I just make my way closer to the front. I usually go to smaller shows w/o seating and if you just keep your eyes forward and say "excuse me, sorry!" You can easily move even when everyone is touching.
this happened to me and my friend at a My Chemical Romance concert (a punk rock band). we were told by people behind us to stop moving around so much. we were literally just dancing in place
For full context: at first he was standing up and singing along loudly which i could understand why the staff would make him sit because the people sitting behind him would get their view blocked or feel disturbed, she saw it and made everyone stood up and sing along, despite that the staff still came and bothered him.

Usually people purchase the closest tickets available, and tickets sell out super fast. Or people will buy the closest tickets they can afford; it's not usually about standing or sitting. It's just how the theaters/stadiums are built - they're not going to remove all of the seats for a concert. But then once you're there in the seated section, many people will sit because they think they're supposed to, and it's often not comfortable at all to stand because of how little standing space there is since the place was built to pack in as many seats as possible. However, we all saw that huge-ass screen. I can say with near certainty that no amount of standing could possibly block out that screen. I don't think people should be forced to sit simply because the venue was built for sporting events instead of concerts. You go ahead and stand if you want, babes!

I get it can be annoying if someone is singing way too loud and maybe also not in tune. But I wouldn't even think about confronting someone about that if I would experience that. I would just let him have his fun. It's not like it's a lecture in class, it's a concert. 🙂

The problem with these situations that people don’t think about is some people whether it’s physical disability or an illness or something or they can’t physically stand up like that but they only get that one chance to go to the show I’m sorry but there should be an area where people have to be able to sit for the show should be able to be upfront where they can still see it with without people blocking Without having to pay a higher price, I have been to a couple shows where they did that and there’s literally a section of eight seats across 15 rows back where it was all seated next to it the same amount of chairs for standing and then next to it seated and it worked perfectly. They can do that.
you assume the people that went up to him *are* disabled- all of them, however, strolled over to him without issue and complained. if it was a disability issue i’m sure he would have been happy to sit down to help out- but it is not everyone’s responsibility to cater to someone’s disability if a venue does not offer accomodations. That’s up to the venue. You’re right in saying there should be a place for those people to sit- and 99% of the time there is. These are people thay adsume they cannot stand during the show- not a disability issue.

Here's the thing, at concerts like these, disability seats are given. There's 50-100 disability and elderly reserved seats, on raised platforms. If it was someone who just wanted to sit for the whole show, they could've gone with 2nd or 3rd row, as the seats are in coliseum positions. 1st row, 2nd row slightly up, 3rd row higher, and so on. First row is reserved for die hard fans that want to stand up and lean on the stage guard. It was only security and one older woman that came up to him. Everyone behind him can see, hear, and enjoy. There are multiple other fans doing exact what he is doing.

I was at the concert the week before this. They tell you that it’s a standing concert and you are allowed to stand and sing as much as you want. It looks close to a black tie event. I agree with enjoying yourself at concerts, but every venue is different. You wouldn't use hands to eat your chicken at a sit down dinner. We'd reserve that for an informal BBQ. This was that sit down event. ❤️
I went to a BTS concert and it was the most comfortable experience of my life. Everyone followed Korean concert etiquette. Never block the view of those behind you, sit if you’re not in the pit. It’s not about you, it’s about the artist. We’re all there because we love the artists so enjoy yourself and let others enjoy themselves. Literally the best concert in terms of comfort.

The security guards had to chase one of the members too 🤣 the fact that several famous korean celebrities were there too. It was the best and most unforgettable experience 🧡 i swear i wanna go all of the concerts in the world whether if its kpop or pop or cpop or jpop or whatever pop just to experience each different culture concert experience 😂 so people SITTING down in a concert just surprise me 🌝

I love that she used her mom tone to put people in place. It wasn't okay to treat someone poorly just because they were upset. We all know people stand at concerts. Who wants to just sit down the entire time? Especially when you're watching an artist that you absolutely love and jam to every day. I'm really happy Adele said something. Theatre venue policy for Adele's Las Vegas residency show is that people may stand (in a seated section) if a majority of people are standing. They were not. Which is why Adele tells the entire audience to stand at that point since this had been going on "the whole night". He couldn't afford FRONT ROW STANDING FLOOR SEATS so he did that stuff in the BACK ROW SEATED SECTION.
She said stand up after he was already standing up and people bothered him. After the 3rd or 4th person came up to him is when she stopped the concert and asked why he was being bothered and told everyone to leave him alone.

I've been to seated concerts before, and people will always get up and sing! Barely anybody uses their seats especially when the show is in full swing and the best songs are being played. Idk of their are rules but even Adele mentioned to peace him alone. He was probably just so in the moment seeing his favourite artist that he didn't realise everyone else was just sitting around him.
I doubt there were rules about standing in this particular case. You can see in the video so many people standing, almost everyone it shows until she's actually in the audience. It's a concert, who sits at an Adele concert? It's just such a weird thing to be upset about in this situation. I can see certain scenarios where it would definitely be rude but not this. He stood for her and she stood up for him. 😂

@@deathbloom27 if you watch the full video where the lady comes up to him you can clearly see with him and his 360° camera that every single person around him was sitting at that time and he was clearly blocking the view of multiple rows behind him. And when I say everyone I mean it, I couldn’t find a single person standing besides him and one of the security guys. People didn’t start standing until after that interaction when “Water Under the Bridge” started playing. I understand people are allowed to stand and normally do whenever the main event comes out or the artists popular songs start, but if not a single soul is standing around you, don’t be that asshole who blocks the view of everyone behind you.

Yes but what Adele did was a great way to handle this, she made the bullies dissipate by involving the audience. She had the platform and used it, random people in the audience they don’t hold any power, so they also might be afraid to confront the bullies and cause a disruption. I went to a show in my country once and a woman started singing very, very, very loud. It was not a standing concert, it was a show with tables. Neither me, nor any person around us could hear the singer, even though he was male and had a strong voice. People started asking the woman to stop or at least low her voice. It came to the point her husband asked her to stop. She said each person could enjoy the show differently, but someone said "I paid to hear him, not you". The husband talked to her again and she finally decided to sing lower.

One of the reasons I don’t go to concerts is because I know how I like to enjoy music, and I can’t control how someone else chooses to enjoy. It would annoy me to hear people sing along or stand in my way, so I just stay home and save my money, because I know I wouldn’t enjoy myself 🤷🏾♀️

I was at an Elton John concert once and was stood up, having the time of my life. A woman behind me told me to sit down even though we were told to stand up. Went the rest of the concert holding back tears 😊
The person could be autistic or ADHD either of these could make someone have a hard time sitting down when excited or hyper up so I'm not gonna hate on this man for this he was not intentionally doing it to be rude and we don't fully know how rude the people were who addressed him

I don't condone the behavior of the people harrassing that young man but i do understand their frustration. I have attended shows where overzealous fans seated near me were singing and screaming so loud (at inappropriate times during the show) that it was a distraction and an annoyance. Of course fans have the right to cheer and sing along to their favorite artists but at the same time need to be respectful of the people around them who are also there to experience the joy of watching the artist perform.
Ugh this is one of those arguments where I 100% get both sides. You paid for the ticket and you wanna stand and sing, then you should be able to enjoy it that way. But you paid for the ticket and want to sit and listen to HER and not all the screaming fans around you, you should be able to enjoy it that way. Maybe half the venue for standers and half the venue for sitters? Lol I personally enjoy concerts more by sitting and listening to the artist only and not other people around me, but I get some people really like the stadium tour/club atmosphere. I’m torn.

Finally an adequate outlook. But in this case if they’re selling seats and it’s not the standing type of concert with big screens you have to stay seated to respect the others. But! I do want to hear the artist and not one random person shrieking in my ear, especially if it's a ballad or laid back song. If that makes sense.

I went to her concert in March and the way the seats are done, if everyone is sitting and someone stands up, you can not see in front of you and say if you get up then you are blocking everyone too. Her concert was amazing though!

I was sitting down, eyes closed, just letting the music wash over me and the guy next to me was up and dancing. I didn’t care at all, but he started bothering me and my friend, telling us to get up and dance because it’s a cOnCErt and we should hAve FuN(!). Apparently, we were ruining his vibe? 🤨 Then he started making fun of us with the people behind him. It was all so unnecessary. Like, damn just let people enjoy music the way they want to. When you work, in your free time, you want to enjoy what you want to enjoy as comfortably as you can. Many have back problems, can't stand up for long or just want to rest while watching the concert. If you notice, the people "bullying" the dude are older people who clearly have worked a lot of years and deserve some rest even when in a concert. Just because they are seated, it doesn't mean that they aren't enjoying it, they just want to be comfortable. Because they also paid to be there, especially in the SEATED section, where people are expected to be seated.

I also feel the same, and I get annoyed when people stand up at concerts, especially if they’re taller than Me, but he was on the end so they literally could’ve just stepped into the aisle real quick, or some thing in order to see better…. Also, it’s something really amazing and powerful to see someone enjoying themselves so much. It’s like when I go to church and people are really feeling God and themselves and they’re just having a good time. It makes me have a good time.

My only issue: people who physically cannot stand. A year ago, I was diagnosed with spinal cord compression. I sometimes have difficulty walking, and can’t stand for long periods due to nerve damage. People don’t always consider things like this until it’s them in such a position. Other than that, dance and sing and party your heart out, mate. I think having a nice balance and being mindful of everyone is the kind thing to do✌️❤ The guards were being a$$holes
There are specific seating areas fir people who can't stand, also if you can't stand and couldn't get into one of those areas, if you just asked politely most people would switch places with you

The only reasonable explanation would be disability preventing long term standing, but that is why most venues generally have a disability access area section. Others use the front row seats as a one size fits all.

I had a similar experience at a concert in October where a lady kept telling me and my mom to sit down while literally everyone else was standing up because her mom couldn’t see, but that’s not our fault. We bought the tickets, we’re gonna appreciate our seats and try to get the best experience possible.

If I can't see at a concert (I'm 5'3") I just make my way closer to the front. I usually go to smaller shows w/o seating and if you just keep your eyes forward and say "excuse me, sorry!" You can easily move even when everyone is touching.

Usually people purchase the closest tickets available, and tickets sell out super fast. Or people will buy the closest tickets they can afford; it's not usually about standing or sitting. It's just how the theaters/stadiums are built - they're not going to remove all of the seats for a concert. But then once you're there in the seated section, many people will sit because they think they're supposed to, and it's often not comfortable at all to stand because of how little standing space there is since the place was built to pack in as many seats as possible. However, we all saw that huge-ass screen. I can say with near certainty that no amount of standing could possibly block out that screen. I don't think people should be forced to sit simply because the venue was built for sporting events instead of concerts. You go ahead and stand if you want, babes!

The problem with these situations that people don’t think about is some people whether it’s physical disability or an illness or something or they can’t physically stand up like that but they only get that one chance to go to the show I’m sorry but there should be an area where people have to be able to sit for the show should be able to be upfront where they can still see it with without people blocking Without having to pay a higher price, I have been to a couple shows where they did that and there’s literally a section of eight seats across 15 rows back where it was all seated next to it the same amount of chairs for standing and then next to it seated and it worked perfectly. They can do that.
you assume the people that went up to him *are* disabled- all of them, however, strolled over to him without issue and complained. if it was a disability issue i’m sure he would have been happy to sit down to help out- but it is not everyone’s responsibility to cater to someone’s disability if a venue does not offer accomodations. Here's the thing, at concerts like these, disability seats are given. There's 50-100 disability and elderly reserved seats, on raised platforms. If it was someone who just wanted to sit for the whole show, they could've gone with 2nd or 3rd row, as the seats are in coliseum positions. 1st row, 2nd row slightly up, 3rd row higher, and so on. First row is reserved for die hard fans that want to stand up and lean on the stage guard. It was only security and one older woman that came up to him. Everyone behind him can see, hear, and enjoy. There are multiple other fans doing exact what he is doing.

I have. It is weird. 2 different NIN concerts one in Portland and one in Las Vegas, years apart, people were sitting down. I never understood.
I went to a BTS concert and it was the most comfortable experience of my life. Everyone followed Korean concert etiquette. Never block the view of those behind you, sit if you’re not in the pit. It’s not about you, it’s about the artist. We’re all there because we love the artists so enjoy yourself and let others enjoy themselves. Literally the best concert in terms of comfort.

Theatre venue policy for Adele's Las Vegas residency show is that people may stand (in a seated section) if a majority of people are standing. They were not. Which is why Adele tells the entire audience to stand at that point since this had been going on "the whole night". He couldn't afford FRONT ROW STANDING FLOOR SEATS so he did that stuff in the BACK ROW SEATED SECTION.

I've been to seated concerts before, and people will always get up and sing! Barely anybody uses their seats especially when the show is in full swing and the best songs are being played. Idk of their are rules but even Adele mentioned to peace him alone. He was probably just so in the moment seeing his favourite artist that he didn't realise everyone else was just sitting around him.
I doubt there were rules about standing in this particular case. You can see in the video so many people standing, almost everyone it shows until she's actually in the audience. It's a concert, who sits at an Adele concert? It's just such a weird thing to be upset about in this situation. I can see certain scenarios where it would definitely be rude but not this. He stood for her and she stood up for him. 😂

@@deathbloom27 if you watch the full video where the lady comes up to him you can clearly see with him and his 360° camera that every single person around him was sitting at that time and he was clearly blocking the view of multiple rows behind him. And when I say everyone I mean it, I couldn’t find a single person standing besides him and one of the security guys. People didn’t start standing until after that interaction when “Water Under the Bridge” started playing. I understand people are allowed to stand and normally do whenever the main event comes out or the artists popular songs start, but if not a single soul is standing around you, don’t be that asshole who blocks the view of everyone behind you.

Yes but what Adele did was a great way to handle this, she made the bullies dissipate by involving the audience. She had the platform and used it, random people in the audience they don’t hold any power, so they also might be afraid to confront the bullies and cause a disruption. I went to a show in my country once and a woman started singing very, very, very loud. It was not a standing concert, it was a show with tables. Neither me, nor any person around us could hear the singer, even though he was male and had a strong voice. People started asking the woman to stop or at least low her voice. It came to the point her husband asked her to stop. She said each person could enjoy the show differently, but someone said "I paid to hear him, not you". The husband talked to her again and she finally decided to sing lower.

I don't condone the behavior of the people harrassing that young man but i do understand their frustration. I have attended shows where overzealous fans seated near me were singing and screaming so loud (at inappropriate times during the show) that it was a distraction and an annoyance. Of course fans have the right to cheer and sing along to their favorite artists but at the same time need to be respectful of the people around them who are also there to experience the joy of watching the artist perform.
Ugh this is one of those arguments where I 100% get both sides. You paid for the ticket and you wanna stand and sing, then you should be able to enjoy it that way. But you paid for the ticket and want to sit and listen to HER and not all the screaming fans around you, you should be able to enjoy it that way. Maybe half the venue for standers and half the venue for sitters? Lol I personally enjoy concerts more by sitting and listening to the artist only and not other people around me, but I get some people really like the stadium tour/club atmosphere. I’m torn.

Finally an adequate outlook. But in this case if they’re selling seats and it’s not the standing type of concert with big screens you have to stay seated to respect the others. I went to her concert in March and the way the seats are done, if everyone is sitting and someone stands up, you can not see in front of you and say if you get up then you are blocking everyone too. Her concert was amazing though!

I also feel the same, and I get annoyed when people stand up at concerts, especially if they’re taller than Me, but he was on the end so they literally could’ve just stepped into the aisle real quick, or some thing in order to see better…. Also, it’s something really amazing and powerful to see someone enjoying themselves so much. It’s like when I go to church and people are really feeling God and themselves and they’re just having a good time. It makes me have a good time.

My only issue: people who physically cannot stand. A year ago, I was diagnosed with spinal cord compression. I sometimes have difficulty walking, and can’t stand for long periods due to nerve damage. People don’t always consider things like this until it’s them in such a position. Other than that, dance and sing and party your heart out, mate. I think having a nice balance and being mindful of everyone is the kind thing to do✌️❤ The guards were being a$$holes
There are specific seating areas fir people who can't stand, also if you can't stand and couldn't get into one of those areas, if you just asked politely most people would switch places with you
