That's a wonderful work of vandalism on a perfectly good bass, I own 2 TRB6 basses the TRB6 P2 and the bolt on TRB6MK2 all you needed to do was turn a screw and increase the output or tell the idiot to get a better amp.
Hey Johnny! You’ve gotten me really interested in the pre amp you mentioned here. I’m in the process off acquiring a Yamaha trb 1006J and looking at your jp2 model I was wondering if you bothered with the “z mode” switch at all? Is that more of an optional piece of the pro z pre amp? I notice there isn’t a hole provided for the z mode switch and wanted to know how you went about dealing with that part! Thanks Johnny! Yamaha has some nice sounding basses. I have a TRB5 from the 90's.
It’s really interesting listening to this bass output. It has much more body to everything. Sounds very textured and refined.

Ive heard that the original preamp can be not so good and not really versatile too...
