I’ve been on the Caleb Williams train for a long time, but this analysis of Daniels make me wish, your suggestion would come true. And if you add the outcome of Fields trade into the mix … wooo … this could be phenomenal for the Bears.
Kyren Lacy number 2 on LSU was probably LSU’s best route runner but he had a ton of drops. Watch out for him next season, if he gets better at catching the ball. He’ll be the next great receiver on the long list of great LSU receivers.
It’s funny how dominant he is in the SEC and yet there’s these old ass white dudes that are stuck on Drake Maye the 15th ranked college qb who had 20+sacks in the ACC and think he should be drafted over Daniels, there are stretches in games where Maye forgets how to play, I also saw a lot of spectacular catches from drake’s highlights that are all receivers on poorly thrown balls yet he has this strong arm. When evaluating these college prospects you have to go with film 1st then what’s on paper and then you can have some emotional tie or instinct, but the guys who think Maye is better absolutely go to emotional thoughts first because the first thing they say is large frame, and strong arm,if it looks like a bust smells like a bust it’s probably Mitch Trubiskey again…..now I know he’s not as risky as Trubiskey but he’s not as solid as media hype is making him out, I feel like he’s more in line with the other quarterbacks . Bo Nix, Penix, JJ Mcarthey all looked better and playeyed in better conferences, Drake had a really good year last year these other boys been solid for more than 1 year, and Daniels had 2 really good years and elevated when it was time to grind, sry but the same thing happened to Sam Howell and he went from 1st round prospect to 5th round pick the next year and I think Sam is a baller but Drake is on about the same level of Sam you don’t draft him again at #2 overall, and nobody seems to mention that Williams and Daniels are about the same weight with Daniels being 3 inches taller.
Drake Maye is not a top 3 quarterback, I watched his play against Clemson and he was just awful in that game, I was surprise at how terrible his play was against Clemson, also watched his play against Georgia Tech and again he had a very poor game, he threw interceptions and played like he couldn't read defenses. I hope the Commanders do not pick him at 2, because he is worse that Sam Howell, either Caleb or Jayden should be their selection.

Many of the sports talk shows in DC appear to want Maye, I NEED Daniels!!! Watching this cut up and Kurt Warner’s it’s clear to see Daniels is pro ready. The knocks are 1.He’s to small 2. He doesn’t throw over the middle 3. His completion percentage is inflated due to screens. Well I’m not concerned about his weight. If smaller QB’s survived hell do fine. He’s taken big hits and only been taken out of a game once. He’s a great middle of the field thrower, he reads the defense well and processes faster than Williams or Maye. In this and the Alabama game Daniels made some good reads and throws over the middle and LSU runs a lot of NFL concepts. And I don’t see many screens, he does miss like every QB does but it seems that when he does they comeback to it and he self corrects and gets the throw. He’s the guy I need in DC
Great analysis. How many games did he miss due to those hard hits? All men aren't created equally. NBA's Larry "grandma ma" Johnson was much bigger than iron man AC Green yet Green never missed a game in a 9 year stretch while Grandma ma only had a 2 year injury free stretch in 10 years. Look forward to having another Daniel "s" wearing the burgundy and gold!
Is there any examples of guys that took too many hits in college and then learned to slide quickly once in the NFL? Seems like a trait that can't be coached. Lamar and Mahomes never take hits. Cam, Josh Allen, and Levis play like full backs
As a Commanders fan if I'm picking between him and Maye its him all day. HOWEVER(All CAPS for a REASON. Its a BIG HOWEVER) I have RG3 2.0 PTSD watching him run. RG3 ended his career because of stupidity and not learning to get down. If Daniels doesn't learn that fast he wont survive his rookie contract(RG3 2.0). I don't care what players say. NFL Defenses are 100% head hunting running QBs like Lamar. You have to be able to avoid hits at all cost or you'll be heading home early.
Daniels isn't RG3. RG3 couldn't read defenses, avoid pressure, avoid fumbles, go through his progressions, learn the playbook, develop chemistry with the receivers, or hit them in stride (receivers often had to make great adjustments to catch balls thrown by RG3). Daniels can do all of these things. Daniels can run an NFL offense and won't have to rely on the read option like RG3 did
Skinz fan checking in. Full disclosure, I haven't watched the video yet but I think Jayden is the perfect prospect except for one thing and I haven't heard any UA-cam scout bring it up(maybe chase will and I'll be pleasantly surprised) but; His throws, while not wobblers, the ball seems very slow through the air. Slow spiral and not overly fast to target. I'm not sure what effect, if any, this will have at the NFL level but it scares me. I would love to hear chases opinion on it. I will edit and delete this comment if he speaks to it in the video. Cheers y'all
I actually prefer Jaden Daniels over Caleb Williams for the Chicago Bears do you think he’s a better choice? I like his size better even though he’s slender, he’s faster and every bit as dangerous with his feet and his arm talent is pretty special as well.
Along as we don’t trade down and come out the draft with DM or JD we will b just fine!!!! JD just needs to put on 15-20lbs of muscle and that would help him tremendously!!!!! No trading down period
Notice how he picked Caleb's worst college game to break down and conveniently picked one of jayden's best games. I'm not a caleb fan, but it's obvious that people have a grudge against him. Also, when you are blessed with an elite offensive line and 2 top 10 recievers, you should have success as a QB.
*This* is who I want either the Giants or Pats to draft with a preference for NY. Both those teams have no receivers who can get open deep, but from what you're showing he already has the ability to read defenses & call audibles. Hmm: Daboll may _not like_ that. But Cliff Kingsbury is _SO_ unimaginative. Still, the Commanders have the best receivers of all the teams high in the draft. Too bad they fired Bienemy.
I think both of the last 2 Heisman winners are talented and deserve to go 1, 2 in this draft. I think it comes down to who has that dawg in him, who will have his teammates fully rallied up and playing as a brotherhood, and who has not shown to be anything but dedicated to football on and off the field. It's not the worst thing to paint your nails. Who cares about that? But I don't think you would ever catch Jayden Daniels crying in his mother's arms after a tough loss. In my day, it was only the soft, entitled kids that cried playing sports. Also very entitled to think you are deserving of $$ equity in your team. That is a red flag...just like Russell Wilson wanting his own office in the Denver stadium. How'd that work out?
Why in your opinion do some otherwise reputable people say that going through full progressions and making throws over the middle is a weakness? They claim he tends to leave the pocket too often when vids like this show otherwise. I don't get the disconnect
@@aldabarber7643 I can dig it. I personally would prefer the guy that can make some off script plays with his legs while he develops. I think Kingsbury is going to be pushing for Daniels or Williams.
People are choosing size over talent. The difference between their weight is 19lbs if the current reporting is true. Maye 229 and Daniels 210. Both of them are 6’4.
Not sure how I feel about J Daniels. Winning the Heisman means nothing in the NFL. He is athletic against college level players. Pro defenses can easily pick this dude apart. He runs runs way too often which apparently is the bench mark for some of you. He will be drafted high and his running will end his career ala RG3. I said the same thing about Richardson last year and I was right.
That's the idea. The plan. The goal. Have good enough WR's to get seperation and make contested catches...a QB who can get them the ball consistently. Can't blame an offense for doing it's job, but you should blame all the other ones for not doing theirs. Terry McLaurin is better than both those guys right now and Jahan Doctson is a former first round pick and a Junior NFL #2. WSH just needs to engineer an acceptable OL and they're scoring lots of points with Daniels.
NFL defensive line are totally different players,he needs to seat out learn the system, your going to destroy him That’s why you have a veteran about. So he can learn understand the system.stop dreaming, you have to win not loose and find excuses why you lost the game.Start Moriota if you want to stat off with winning games
University of Florida has a terrible defense. People live in the past. The SEC no longer has a bunch of powerhouse teams. The stud defensive backs no longer exist. Throw on the game against the ACC team. He was owned in that game.

Cheers y'all
He definitely has inferior velocity on his throws compared to Williams and Maye.
Home game. Other than that, great analysis. I hope my Commanders take him.
They did
7:43 ???????????????????
Very first play shown he says it’s cover 0 and it’s clearly not. Chase Daniel even says Nabers finds an empty zone.
I actually prefer Jaden Daniels over Caleb Williams for the Chicago Bears do you think he’s a better choice? I like his size better even though he’s slender, he’s faster and every bit as dangerous with his feet and his arm talent is pretty special as well.
I still like Williams more but Daniels quickness both in terms of running and getting through his progressions is ridiculous.
Welcome to Washington
Chase Daniel, Jayden Daniels is your brother from another mother!!😂😂😂
“Reminds me of a young Ja’Marr Chase.”. Ja’Marr is 24yo…
Would love a JJ McCarthy breakdown
Commanders
You know what he has that caleb and drake don't have? 2 top 25 wr and all the time in the world to throw the ball. Daniels oline was legit.
Were they top 25 WR before JD?
@@allofit3547 facts. WR dont throw to themselves.
@allofit3547 MHJ had a bum throwing him the ball this year and still balled out. So what's ypur point?
@@JeremyAndrade1588 bum, according to who?
@allofit3547 Ohio state and everyone with eyes lol. That's Kyle McCord is playing for Syracuse now
I hope the pats get this kid at 3rd pick
I hope they trade up to 1 shouldn’t take much. Then they take daniels
Along as we don’t trade down and come out the draft with DM or JD we will b just fine!!!! JD just needs to put on 15-20lbs of muscle and that would help him tremendously!!!!! No trading down period
Damn I wish Sam had that much time last year. JD clearly a better athlete. I wish I could see JD with more rush in his face like he would have in DC.
Jayden Daniel’s has to be the pick, heismen award . Look at this qbr 200??
Jayden Daniels is a draft and sit that would takeover easily. Stashing Jayden would be perfect for the Bears.
The plus about it is. He can bulk up.
Why in your opinion do some otherwise reputable people say that going through full progressions and making throws over the middle is a weakness? They claim he tends to leave the pocket too often when vids like this show otherwise. I don't get the disconnect
@@dokedoker3340 thanks, seems like everyone has different opinions on these QBs
I think its scheme more than abiltiy. He made a lot over the middle throws at Arizona state...specifically to a guy named Brandon aiyuk...
Daniels is only a runner he reminds me a lot of RG3. Unfortunately kid’s gonna get killed in the NFL and suffer the same fate as RG no knee
This game was not on the road for LSU. LSU most of the time wears white at home. Long time tradition
Wish my Vikings could get him
Chase bro, LSU was at home. Not hostile at all😂
I corrected myself!!
Did you bother watching the whole video? He caught his mistake and set it straight.
If he is the most accurate and the most athletic why is anyone even considering Drake Maye? Sign me up!
Simply size. If Daniels had Maye size he’d be #1 overall
Size, velocity, arguably better processor, excellent at throwing to the middle of the field.
ESPN hype train.
Pats are just waiting to cash in on Washington’s mistake by the lake!
Must be nice that he can just throw 50/50 balls and chances are high his better WRs will come down with it.
He’s a baller
That's the idea. The plan. The goal. Have good enough WR's to get seperation and make contested catches...a QB who can get them the ball consistently. Can't blame an offense for doing it's job, but you should blame all the other ones for not doing theirs. Terry McLaurin is better than both those guys right now and Jahan Doctson is a former first round pick and a Junior NFL #2. WSH just needs to engineer an acceptable OL and they're scoring lots of points with Daniels.
Hey Janoy, must be nice you can turn on your TV with no adult supervision...or can you?!
He has perfect mechanics, a strong arms and ELITE athleticism, his backshoulders are a thing of beauty
Burrow syndrome, works when you have 3 #1 receivers in the NFL.
What is he talking about “hostile environment,” the game against Florida was at LSU???
To be honest with you Chase
All I need is Jayden Daniels and Jeremiah Trotter Jr give KK Everything I got in my pocket #21
That kinda sounds what Washington would select with there first two picks.
NFL defensive line are totally different players,he needs to seat out learn the system, your going to destroy him
That’s why you have a veteran about. So he can learn understand the system.stop dreaming, you have to win not loose and find excuses why you lost the game.Start Moriota if you want to stat off with winning games
If that was the case, we should have kept Jacoby.
The only thing that concerns me is he had all day to throw back there.
Da Bears better grab this guy!
University of Florida has a terrible defense. People live in the past. The SEC no longer has a bunch of powerhouse teams. The stud defensive backs no longer exist. Throw on the game against the ACC team. He was owned in that game.
