This is because for some reason (idk, maybe lack of human resources in HG at that time), Yostar managed to make differences between Global and CN 2 months shorter than it's time release (from 8 months to 6 months).
I like the idea of the kernel banner. It removes clutter by separating it in its own pool. Rosa's the only SSR I don't have there, so I might still roll it. I'm not sure about also separating its token and ticket system though.
They shouldn't have separated the token exchange for the blue certs imo. Really limited the option to obtain it as an alternative method to get the shop operators.
You can still get Kernel banner operators available in the yellow certificate store. So you don't necessarily have to pull on the Kernel banner to get operators from it. In fact you can force Rosa to be in the yellow cert store with the build a banner if you have enough certs to buy her.

@sorashizenshijomi5130 Yes and no, whether you realize it or not you're approaching a point where you'll have every single operator that has ever been released on the yellow cert store to date. Personally I've been at that point for over a year and I've just been buying headhunting permits. Probably 9 months out of 12 I buy the HH permits. How long it's going to take you is relative to when you started of course. And maybe you'll quit playing before you hit it. In the meantime all you can do is prioritize what's most important right now. If you are missing enough 6* to warrant pulling on a build-a-banner that's going to the best way to optimize the kernel banner for minimizing risk.
yeah that would be great if kernal wasnt a trap to begin with. save for limiteds, kernal only helps 2 people, those who never have to pull on the banner or ultra whales who can pull on every banner and then some
My prediction and also recommendation is that both new and veteran players only pull on the Kernel banner during the Build-a-Banner events to maximize your chances of getting the most important operators. A LOT of very important utility operators are moving to the Kernel banner. Nightingale, Warfarin, Shamare, Lappland, Bagpipe, Aak, and Suzuran for example. Not to mention 2 of the abyssal hunters. Now you can pick up some of those with 5* selectors but it seems like new players are going to have to at least invest some pulls into this banner. Fortunately the bonus certs will help expedite the process significantly. Once you have the majority of those you could probably wait out the rest from recruitment and yellow cert store.
But, this is painful for not so new players, but not quite old like myself. I’ve been playing for only a year. To get the ops I am missing, I will have to specifically pull a banner that will likely keep giving me ops I have and blue certs on top of it. I cannot even recover some of the pulls from the cert store by buying permits. It’s pretty much a lot of cost to get an old op.
@eufrosniad994 Yeah you have to be missing enough ops to make it worth building a banner to pull on. If not you're better off not pulling on the kernel banner and just being patient to get them through recruitment, 5* selectors, and the yellow cert store. I will say that they made the 5* kernel store operators conspicuously cheaper than the yellow cert store while the 6* are conspicuously more expensive. So it seems like they anticipated that some people would not be able to save up to 2K blue certificates so they made the 5* more worth it to purchase. I do want to warn you though that as a veteran if you pull a duplicate 5* or 6* from the kernel banner you may take a certificate penalty if they impose the 10 blue certs 1st time on 5* and 6*. (imo this would be bad game design but as written it sounds like that is what they did) So whenever possible you want to ensure the highest possible chances of getting an operator that you don't own for 5* and 6* before you pull.

Because if that is not the case, then it seems immensely difficult to be certain that one would obtain an operator one does not have, no? Thing with recruitment is that who I want right now is Nightingale. But, given her tags, I might get Shining or Saria who share the same tags. So I not only need to get the tags with Top Operator tag, but I will also have to hope I am lucky enough that it will give me Nightingale. The chance is less than 50%. It all sounds terrible. If they had kept things as they are, I might have gotten her during a limited banner as I pull 300. Also, will the kernel operators still appear in the gold cert shop or they will only appear in blue cert shop?
@eufrosniad994 Yes they'll be available in the gold cert store and if Nightingale is the only operator you want I would recommend getting her that way. As a bonus every 6 months you can choose the kernel 6* to be in the gold cert store so whenever you can afford Nightingale you can get her. To answer your question though the kernel is structured the same as the standard banner with 2 rate up 6*s and 3 rate up 5*s.

Thank goodness I got all my male operators. I hope they still keep the every 50 pulls we still can get a 6* if we haven't pulled one. At least hard pity at 150 for the banner operator.
My hope is that they eventually introduce events that give free core banner pulls cuz who in their right mind would pull specifically for old characters

Someone explain one thing to my dumbass brain, please. If the "old" operators like Suzu or Exusia appear in the core banner rotation can I still buy them with gold certs? Or are they now perma swapped to blue certs? Cause I am sitting on like 700 gold certs and I really want Suzu and Exu, since I have skins for them, but I dont want to waste my time on the other blue operators.
Pity is good and meh at the same time, 150 is too high considering it doesn’t carry over. Newbie banner is great. Aaand everything else is suck, I guess for the newer players too. As an old player not having some of the blue banner ops, now there’s just no hope for a spook
A hot take, the 150 pity will not change anything about how you pull except for spender. For F2P, you will always thinking about going for limited banner and save 300 pull just in case things go wrong. So, putting half of it on a standard banner (That doesn't carry over the pull count by the way), will never worth it in my opinion.

For F2P though, the fact that the pity doesn't carry over means that you will have to choose which banner to pull from and the fact that the limited banner is every 3-4 months will makes you pull on them rather than on standard banner.
yes, it will mostly only benefit the spenders, but it's a welcomed one. Before, even spennders like me are reluctant to roll normal banners because there's no hard guarantee. My painful experience with 150 roll not getting old Chen and 200 roll for Surtr is there. I didn't roll for Mylnar also because of that. Now, at least I know I can get what I want at 150 rolls, so I will be way less reluctant on rolling new banners. Even F2P with large saving pockets will now rolling for OP ops, like upcoming Typhoon, instead of saving.
@@anhkhoanguyen8562 yes, this does benefits spenders a lot. I have watch several video of people spending a lot of money to get a single copy of a standard banner character, so this will help them. But as a F2P, I really hope that they make the pity carry over between banner like what Genshin/HSR does. I am at a point in the game where I can dip into any banner as I already have a built team in both Genshin and Arknights, but I can't dip in any banner in Arknights as it is either 150-220 pulls or none. Yes, Genshin rates suck, but its pity makes it so that every pull counts, while Arknights makes it that the pull only count on the current banner only. And considering that limited banner is 300, why even bother with standard banner.
Just like any gacha honestly, f2p dont have the privilege to hard pity every new banner, in the end you just save for specific op after saving, this will help spender or f2p with huge saving to have a safety net at the very least
This is really gonna be a toss-up as far as opinions go. While it's definitely helpful for sure, especially if there are core Operators you've not gotten like Saria, Silverash, Eyja, etc, you also have a split of the certs you gain from pulling, so there isn't a single pool of certs for you to spend, but instead, there are two different ones, each with their own pros, and you need to think carefully on how much you're willing to set aside if there is a really universally useful OP you feel like you'll absolutely need in the future, since you'll also be losing out on the chance of getting any of the new 6* if you are unlucky with an off-rate. That said, the option to CHOOSE the shop OP will be extremely helpful in the future, so there are offsets from the cons of this split. Again, I don't have a particular strong feeling about this at the moment of typing this, and I'm sure there will be mixed opinions about this, so we'll cross our fingers to see if this will be a boon or not. I'd like to also say that I don't follow the progression of the CN server, so I'm not speaking on behalf of CN players who already underwent this, just Global players hearing about this for the first time, like me.
I'd say this is a great change overall. Yeah, I do love to get potentials or even new 6 stars as offbanner pulls as I'm a relatively new player (8 months of spending sanity in game and irl lol), but this allows for pulls with better odds more often (as long as you don't want every single operator xD)

At least they make it so that you get more blue cert than yellow cert. on the worst case scenario, a 9 3* + 1 4* will give you 31 blue cert while on the old one will only give you 1 yellow cert and a duplicate 6* will give you 100 blue cert rather than 10-15 yellow cert. I still think that they should just let you gain and buy with Yellow cert and just reduce the amount of cert needed to buy the old 6* to half its' cost, so 90 yellow cert for 1st year unit while for the rest it will still cost 180 cert.
There is an advantage and a disadvantage The advantage is: since most of the remaining ops are good there is a higher chance to get good spooks from limited banners, means higher chance to get new ops which are technically better than old ones Disadvantage is: realistically there is no bad op from that blue banner, means that you have no longer a chance to get spooked by silverash/nightingale/shining/mostima/eyja ect....and only way is to get them is to hoard even more of those yellow certs or pull them directly from the banner....

I think I'll just wait for the joint op banner where mlynar, pozy, penance and lee are displayed as I dont have any of these ops. The blem shoperator and mlynar seems like a bait to me i only need mlynar from it and knowing my luck on the past hellagur/bagpipe and surtr/phantom banner they kept giving me the other op i dont need.

Wait what... Recruitment doesn't get affected by this change. You can get Saria from recruitment via Top OP tag but that's very rare not to mention you need to get the right tags. And if you're saying you're going to pull in Core banner to accumulate blue certs, don't. wait for the event where you can create your own banner, choose Saria as shop-operator, and buy her with Gold/yellow cert.
Since mlynar will be his first time on standard banner, the shop op is most likely blemishi, also since I want suzu, does that mean that she'll no longer appear in the gold cert shop? And that I'll have to wait more and more till she comes into the blue cert shop? Come on....
Once she is in the blue store she’ll also be in the gold cert store. And at the next limited banner you can choose the operators to be on the kernal (blue) banner. Meaning you can choose Suzuran then and buy her from gold cert store

the year 1 eviction feels like sucking a LOT for me. I have always wanted to get suzuran or aak or bagpipe or skadi or silverash or siege or mostima or ceobe in case i lost the 50 or something, but im a newbie so idk what to expect from all this
Luckily, you might get most of those from the Recruitment system sooner or later. Keep up the three daily recruitments (or splurge if you got enough permits/express thingies) and a Top Operator tag is bound to come your way one of those days. The only one not available from your list is Suzuran. Personally, in three years, I've seen plenty of Top Op tags just going with daily recruitments after logging on. Just don't be like my friend who is sitting on hundreds of permits because he's both too lazy to check recruitment options and underestimates how useful the system actually is :')
Getting tickets from the shop / events is basically the only way I'll actually be pulling on it. At this point, 3 years in, I am only missing Nian, who obviously won't be on a Kernel banner. Everything else would just give me +1 Potential, if not straight up an excess dupe to trade in. I love the system for the sake of newcomers and more granularity with regards to rolling for unowned ops, but for veterans, it doesn't seem particularly useful, outside of reducing spook variety, which is a pity.
please DO NOT recommend pulling kernal to new players. It is wiser for new players to save pulls for limited banners and hope they get the old 5 stars through recruitment, kernal is a trap for new players dont lead them in yourself
With the Core banner I am definitely chaning the way I make my pulls. Going to save 300 pulls and hope to spark Chen when she comes around along with Effy alter banner but after that, I'm locking down my account to build and increase pot of the 200 characters I have. I am rolling blue until Angelina comes home.
Bro, did you not watch the video? You can just just manually put Angelina on the core banner and then buy her from the shop. Unless you're still low on pulls, then that's the easiest recruitment ever
Build-a-banner is a great time for players to get Schwarz if they don't have her yet! She is the strongest carry for IS2 Calamity and one of the strongest carries for IS3 D15, and is All You Need.
Even if she sucks, my main reason for getting an operator is their sound effects and voice acting.. Her S3 sfx is literally one of the best in the game

@@EXoDuZ302 Build-a-banner doesn't contain Pozy and Mlynar, and it only costs 180 gold certs, so no matter how you slice it, getting Schwarz there is a fantastic deal. In terms of carrying IS3 D15, Schwarz and Pozy are #1 and #2 in some order, depending on your squad and ending. Mlynar could be argued for #3. Heavyshooters are just built different, which is why at the tournament level it's plausible to substitute Tequila for Mlynar to save Hope but there are no viable subs for Schwarz or Pozy. In terms of carrying IS2 Calamity, Schwarz is the uncontested #1.

About time they added a damn counter. This has some upsides and downsides. The new player banner is...50/50 imo. Mountain, Flametail, and Suzuran are great for beginners. I feel like SA is better for beginners over Thorns. Exusiai is overall better than Archetto and helps them learn more mechanics. Weedy...doesnt seem beginner friendly at all. I was hoping theyd implent changes beneficial enough to bring me back...but idk. I think the 150 pity should be dropped to 100 since it doesnt carry over, Limited banners keep people from making a lot of pulls on standards, but I guess at least there's a hard pity now. I think I own every op from the kernel banner except for Phantom. As long as the pulls for it carry over I think it'd be a good change.
My gripe with the 150 pity is that you don’t get the operator at 150 pulls, it’s the NEXT 6* you get AFTER you blow 150 pulls Making the actual hard pity somewhere around 180 (assuming you’re hitting the 6* pity every 60 rolls or so)
@@colonelsouffle3042 based on statistics collected from the CN server before they got this change, there was a hidden pity system where the next 6* after 200 pulls was the rate up 6*. So ppl generally got the rate up 6* around 250 pulls with 300 being the hard pity if RNG loathes them. This change reveals the pity system and lowers the general range to around 200 pulls and hard pity to ~250. It's pretty much lowered by 50 pulls. Would be nice to have more, but it's already lowered a lot.
@@colonelsouffle3042 agreed, if they're going to keep it that high itd be nice if it carried over, otherwise I feel its only beneficial if they decrease it to 100 or make 150 the guarantee. I doubt many will be dropping 200ish on standard banners when limited banners work how they do.
This system is good when you roll for future banners and you get less spooks but for people who waited and are still waiting to be spooked by a specific 6* this isn't very great

Kind of, yea If you're not planning on pulling on this Blue Banner, than the only other option would be by buying her straight from the Gold Cert Store (Since the Operator on the Blue Banner are added in both Yellow and Blue Cert Store) or you would need to wait for Suzuran to be added to Recruitment, who is actually the only 6* in the Blue Banner Pool that isn't obtainable in Recruitment yet (right behind Thorns, who isn't in either the Blue Banner Pool or Recruitment yet as well)

The main advice, don't focus on the 6* operators! Build 3* 4* 5* operators, it costs much cheaper, you will be able to find any walkthroughs with them. then, when you confidently begin to approach the stages at the events, start building 6*
Blue certs suck. Splitting off old ops into there own banner was a neat idea, but making stuff pulled from it generate a new grossly less valuable byproduct is dogshit. Any newer players that want to roll for older ops are basically getting fucked. I have literally everyone on it but Angy so ill never roll on it and it doesn't really effect me arguably even helps (smaller pool means higher to be spooked by new ops) but it blows for newer players which is NOT the direction you want to be going when trying to sustain an aging game. I suppose my one regret will be Skadi bring stuck at Pot5, despite having never pulled on single banner with her, forever. It's been real fish women but it seems this is the end of you mugging everyone to show up constantly in my off banner rainbow bags. I'm almost gonna miss you...
Don't worry, you can still see her again when going for Top Op + Guard/Survival/DPS/Melee recruitments, all of which she shares with at least two other Operators. She can still spook you one more time :')

The fact that you need like 190 pulls if not more to get a guaranteed NONLIMITED character, and the fact that it doesn't count onto the next banner just...makes this whole thing absolutely useless to me...
It just means that if you are saving to spark a banner there won't be any nonsense like only getting off banner six stars. And if you have never managed to save enough to spark a single banner, I pity your account.
Arknights’ gacha has always been a pretty awful system tbh. It’s hard carried by good game design letting you succeed with minimal 6star units, but on its own merits the gacha sucks. This is a fractional improvement, but so minor as to barely make a difference, while also vaulting the Year1 operators. Not great.
@@Lichtonatus What do you mean pretty awful system? The rates in this gacha are good enough to pull almost comfortably even if you don't want to spend money. I've been playing this game for almost a year and it has taken me on average 50-70 pulls to get a limited operator. The pity system is for a case of extremely bad luck the way I see it. Gacha itself is generous as fuck.
As an aside, your anecdotal 50-70 for Limited units is meaningless. Average pity for a limited is ~142 on raw percentile value (allowing for spooks) or ~148 on soft pity. Your being lucky has no bearing on the system, but congrats on your luck nonetheless.
Does focus selection points (Pity) will carry over to the next focused selection banner ? for example i have 40 focus selection points (Pity) from Typhon banner will it carry over to lets say Jessica alter banner? because it's a focus selection banner type.
Seems like a dreadful system honestly. Can’t wait to hit the third offrate 6star on 145 and have to pull to soft pity again. And all those good Year 1 operators are being vaulted essentially - who will pull for them when we’ve been trained to hoard for Limited Banners.
It's no different than it ever was in that respect except now there is a guarantee... These sound like f2p sheep problems. Don't worry, someone will make a video telling you exactly what you should do. You won't have to do something as awful as making your own decision. That would be insane!
It's basically the Blue Archive Spark System but 50 less summons. And there is essentially two universal pities to keep track of. One for Standard and one for Core. Core is just AK equivalent of the Standard Gacha in the Mihoyo games.

@Shines - MiHoYo games *also* have pretty bad gacha systems, although at least core units from GI or HSR can appear in other banners. You’re right about Blue Archive in terms of raw numbers, but that’s where the comparison ends. The income rate, utility of spark currency, per-banner restriction in AK, and requirement to actually pull a 6star *after* 150 make these very different systems.

Blue archive is much more generous with pulls compared to arknights, its so easy to get a 200 guaranted and a lot of random spooks that are useful and great. In arknights. The spooks either gives you a dupe of a 6 star you already have or a 6 star that isn't so useful comapared to the new 6 star you are pulling. Oh boy. From what I see is the only changes are 300 is now guaranteed pity compared to before you can still fcking fail to pull for main banner after 300 pulls. (Unlucky existence) And a shop that seperates old 6 star ops from newer stronger ones. Which is good? Some of the 1 year ops are strong but not all of them. And newer 6 stars tend to be more broken.

Not exactly, you should still be able to get them from that blue banner and the blue permit is cheaper than the yellow permit from the yellow cert store. The only catch is that you would be using resource for getting new operators.
Does it affect how frequent we get our green certs and yellow certs? Like after this, will we get less of the green and yellow? Hopefully it stays the same, else it would be harder to purchase 6 stars from shop or purchase mats

This is a good change to keep the newer banner not diluted with too many ops and help player target what the exact op they want.
I like the idea of the kernel banner. It removes clutter by separating it in its own pool. Rosa's the only SSR I don't have there, so I might still roll it. I'm not sure about also separating its token and ticket system though.
They shouldn't have separated the token exchange for the blue certs imo. Really limited the option to obtain it as an alternative method to get the shop operators.
You can still get Kernel banner operators available in the yellow certificate store. So you don't necessarily have to pull on the Kernel banner to get operators from it. In fact you can force Rosa to be in the yellow cert store with the build a banner if you have enough certs to buy her.

Yes and no, whether you realize it or not you're approaching a point where you'll have every single operator that has ever been released on the yellow cert store to date.
Personally I've been at that point for over a year and I've just been buying headhunting permits. Probably 9 months out of 12 I buy the HH permits.
How long it's going to take you is relative to when you started of course. And maybe you'll quit playing before you hit it. In the meantime all you can do is prioritize what's most important right now.
If you are missing enough 6* to warrant pulling on a build-a-banner that's going to the best way to optimize the kernel banner for minimizing risk.
As someone who spend their golden tickets to buy HH permit to fuel my gambling addiction this change doesn't faze me.

My prediction and also recommendation is that both new and veteran players only pull on the Kernel banner during the Build-a-Banner events to maximize your chances of getting the most important operators.
A LOT of very important utility operators are moving to the Kernel banner. Nightingale, Warfarin, Shamare, Lappland, Bagpipe, Aak, and Suzuran for example. Not to mention 2 of the abyssal hunters. Now you can pick up some of those with 5* selectors but it seems like new players are going to have to at least invest some pulls into this banner. Fortunately the bonus certs will help expedite the process significantly.
Once you have the majority of those you could probably wait out the rest from recruitment and yellow cert store.
But, this is painful for not so new players, but not quite old like myself. I’ve been playing for only a year. To get the ops I am missing, I will have to specifically pull a banner that will likely keep giving me ops I have and blue certs on top of it. I cannot even recover some of the pulls from the cert store by buying permits. It’s pretty much a lot of cost to get an old op.

Yeah you have to be missing enough ops to make it worth building a banner to pull on. If not you're better off not pulling on the kernel banner and just being patient to get them through recruitment, 5* selectors, and the yellow cert store.
I will say that they made the 5* kernel store operators conspicuously cheaper than the yellow cert store while the 6* are conspicuously more expensive. So it seems like they anticipated that some people would not be able to save up to 2K blue certificates so they made the 5* more worth it to purchase.
I do want to warn you though that as a veteran if you pull a duplicate 5* or 6* from the kernel banner you may take a certificate penalty if they impose the 10 blue certs 1st time on 5* and 6*. (imo this would be bad game design but as written it sounds like that is what they did) So whenever possible you want to ensure the highest possible chances of getting an operator that you don't own for 5* and 6* before you pull.
@@ian59 Thanks for the detailed response. Perhaps I was mistaken about something. Is it the case that the kernel banner will feature a rate up for specific operator? Because if that is not the case, then it seems immensely difficult to be certain that one would obtain an operator one does not have, no?
Thing with recruitment is that who I want right now is Nightingale. But, given her tags, I might get Shining or Saria who share the same tags. So I not only need to get the tags with Top Operator tag, but I will also have to hope I am lucky enough that it will give me Nightingale. The chance is less than 50%. It all sounds terrible. If they had kept things as they are, I might have gotten her during a limited banner as I pull 300.
Also, will the kernel operators still appear in the gold cert shop or they will only appear in blue cert shop?

Yes they'll be available in the gold cert store and if Nightingale is the only operator you want I would recommend getting her that way.
As a bonus every 6 months you can choose the kernel 6* to be in the gold cert store so whenever you can afford Nightingale you can get her.
To answer your question though the kernel is structured the same as the standard banner with 2 rate up 6*s and 3 rate up 5*s.
@@ian59 oh nice! That is starting to sound a bit more promising now. I usually keep my gold certs for pulls as a f2p, but I suppose it’s time to spend it to finally get her. I really want her because of her arts damage mitigation. But for all I know, the AK endgame will start heading to enemies dealing true damage by the time I get her.

A hot take, the 150 pity will not change anything about how you pull except for spender. For F2P, you will always thinking about going for limited banner and save 300 pull just in case things go wrong. So, putting half of it on a standard banner (That doesn't carry over the pull count by the way), will never worth it in my opinion.
It's a game changer for collectors like me so I like it.

For F2P though, the fact that the pity doesn't carry over means that you will have to choose which banner to pull from and the fact that the limited banner is every 3-4 months will makes you pull on them rather than on standard banner.
yes, it will mostly only benefit the spenders, but it's a welcomed one. Before, even spennders like me are reluctant to roll normal banners because there's no hard guarantee. My painful experience with 150 roll not getting old Chen and 200 roll for Surtr is there. I didn't roll for Mylnar also because of that. Now, at least I know I can get what I want at 150 rolls, so I will be way less reluctant on rolling new banners. Even F2P with large saving pockets will now rolling for OP ops, like upcoming Typhoon, instead of saving.

But as a F2P, I really hope that they make the pity carry over between banner like what Genshin/HSR does. I am at a point in the game where I can dip into any banner as I already have a built team in both Genshin and Arknights, but I can't dip in any banner in Arknights as it is either 150-220 pulls or none. Yes, Genshin rates suck, but its pity makes it so that every pull counts, while Arknights makes it that the pull only count on the current banner only. And considering that limited banner is 300, why even bother with standard banner.
Just like any gacha honestly, f2p dont have the privilege to hard pity every new banner, in the end you just save for specific op after saving, this will help spender or f2p with huge saving to have a safety net at the very least

This is really gonna be a toss-up as far as opinions go. While it's definitely helpful for sure, especially if there are core Operators you've not gotten like Saria, Silverash, Eyja, etc, you also have a split of the certs you gain from pulling, so there isn't a single pool of certs for you to spend, but instead, there are two different ones, each with their own pros, and you need to think carefully on how much you're willing to set aside if there is a really universally useful OP you feel like you'll absolutely need in the future, since you'll also be losing out on the chance of getting any of the new 6* if you are unlucky with an off-rate.
That said, the option to CHOOSE the shop OP will be extremely helpful in the future, so there are offsets from the cons of this split.
Again, I don't have a particular strong feeling about this at the moment of typing this, and I'm sure there will be mixed opinions about this, so we'll cross our fingers to see if this will be a boon or not.
I'd like to also say that I don't follow the progression of the CN server, so I'm not speaking on behalf of CN players who already underwent this, just Global players hearing about this for the first time, like me.
I'd say this is a great change overall. Yeah, I do love to get potentials or even new 6 stars as offbanner pulls as I'm a relatively new player (8 months of spending sanity in game and irl lol), but this allows for pulls with better odds more often (as long as you don't want every single operator xD)

For me, it's more that I have most of the core 6* that I need, but maybe with one or two exceptions, and I'd like to be able to pull them, even if it's on the offchance it's an off-rate pull when working on a standard or new banner, so it's a matter of in the future how I want to actually use my OP and Orundums, which will lead to a dilemma and such
At least they make it so that you get more blue cert than yellow cert. on the worst case scenario, a 9 3* + 1 4* will give you 31 blue cert while on the old one will only give you 1 yellow cert and a duplicate 6* will give you 100 blue cert rather than 10-15 yellow cert.
I still think that they should just let you gain and buy with Yellow cert and just reduce the amount of cert needed to buy the old 6* to half its' cost, so 90 yellow cert for 1st year unit while for the rest it will still cost 180 cert.

There is an advantage and a disadvantage
The advantage is: since most of the remaining ops are good there is a higher chance to get good spooks from limited banners, means higher chance to get new ops which are technically better than old ones
Disadvantage is: realistically there is no bad op from that blue banner, means that you have no longer a chance to get spooked by silverash/nightingale/shining/mostima/eyja ect....and only way is to get them is to hoard even more of those yellow certs or pull them directly from the banner....

Once she is in the blue store she’ll also be in the gold cert store. And at the next limited banner you can choose the operators to be on the kernal (blue) banner. Meaning you can choose Suzuran then and buy her from gold cert store

the year 1 eviction feels like sucking a LOT for me. I have always wanted to get suzuran or aak or bagpipe or skadi or silverash or siege or mostima or ceobe in case i lost the 50 or something, but im a newbie so idk what to expect from all this
Luckily, you might get most of those from the Recruitment system sooner or later. Keep up the three daily recruitments (or splurge if you got enough permits/express thingies) and a Top Operator tag is bound to come your way one of those days. The only one not available from your list is Suzuran.
Personally, in three years, I've seen plenty of Top Op tags just going with daily recruitments after logging on. Just don't be like my friend who is sitting on hundreds of permits because he's both too lazy to check recruitment options and underestimates how useful the system actually is :')

Getting tickets from the shop / events is basically the only way I'll actually be pulling on it. At this point, 3 years in, I am only missing Nian, who obviously won't be on a Kernel banner. Everything else would just give me +1 Potential, if not straight up an excess dupe to trade in.
I love the system for the sake of newcomers and more granularity with regards to rolling for unowned ops, but for veterans, it doesn't seem particularly useful, outside of reducing spook variety, which is a pity.
please DO NOT recommend pulling kernal to new players. It is wiser for new players to save pulls for limited banners and hope they get the old 5 stars through recruitment, kernal is a trap for new players dont lead them in yourself

With the Core banner I am definitely chaning the way I make my pulls. Going to save 300 pulls and hope to spark Chen when she comes around along with Effy alter banner but after that, I'm locking down my account to build and increase pot of the 200 characters I have. I am rolling blue until Angelina comes home.

Build-a-banner is a great time for players to get Schwarz if they don't have her yet!
She is the strongest carry for IS2 Calamity and one of the strongest carries for IS3 D15, and is All You Need.
Even if she sucks, my main reason for getting an operator is their sound effects and voice acting.. Her S3 sfx is literally one of the best in the game

@@EXoDuZ302 Build-a-banner doesn't contain Pozy and Mlynar, and it only costs 180 gold certs, so no matter how you slice it, getting Schwarz there is a fantastic deal.
In terms of carrying IS3 D15, Schwarz and Pozy are #1 and #2 in some order, depending on your squad and ending. Mlynar could be argued for #3. Heavyshooters are just built different, which is why at the tournament level it's plausible to substitute Tequila for Mlynar to save Hope but there are no viable subs for Schwarz or Pozy.
In terms of carrying IS2 Calamity, Schwarz is the uncontested #1.

This has some upsides and downsides. The new player banner is...50/50 imo. Mountain, Flametail, and Suzuran are great for beginners. I feel like SA is better for beginners over Thorns. Exusiai is overall better than Archetto and helps them learn more mechanics. Weedy...doesnt seem beginner friendly at all.
I was hoping theyd implent changes beneficial enough to bring me back...but idk. I think the 150 pity should be dropped to 100 since it doesnt carry over, Limited banners keep people from making a lot of pulls on standards, but I guess at least there's a hard pity now.
I think I own every op from the kernel banner except for Phantom. As long as the pulls for it carry over I think it'd be a good change.
My gripe with the 150 pity is that you don’t get the operator at 150 pulls, it’s the NEXT 6* you get AFTER you blow 150 pulls
Making the actual hard pity somewhere around 180 (assuming you’re hitting the 6* pity every 60 rolls or so)
Actual hard pity is 250 (in case you fail to get in first 150 then no 6* after standard 2% then fail every +2% after that)
@@colonelsouffle3042 based on statistics collected from the CN server before they got this change, there was a hidden pity system where the next 6* after 200 pulls was the rate up 6*. So ppl generally got the rate up 6* around 250 pulls with 300 being the hard pity if RNG loathes them. This change reveals the pity system and lowers the general range to around 200 pulls and hard pity to ~250. It's pretty much lowered by 50 pulls. Would be nice to have more, but it's already lowered a lot.
@@colonelsouffle3042 agreed, if they're going to keep it that high itd be nice if it carried over, otherwise I feel its only beneficial if they decrease it to 100 or make 150 the guarantee. I doubt many will be dropping 200ish on standard banners when limited banners work how they do.
This system is good when you roll for future banners and you get less spooks but for people who waited and are still waiting to be spooked by a specific 6* this isn't very great

At least now i can wait for Eyja rate up from the core banner.

If you're not planning on pulling on this Blue Banner, than the only other option would be by buying her straight from the Gold Cert Store (Since the Operator on the Blue Banner are added in both Yellow and Blue Cert Store) or you would need to wait for Suzuran to be added to Recruitment, who is actually the only 6* in the Blue Banner Pool that isn't obtainable in Recruitment yet (right behind Thorns, who isn't in either the Blue Banner Pool or Recruitment yet as well)

Always green. You only get blue certs from doing anything Core banner related as explained in the video.

The main advice, don't focus on the 6* operators! Build 3* 4* 5* operators, it costs much cheaper, you will be able to find any walkthroughs with them. then, when you confidently begin to approach the stages at the events, start building 6*

Blue certs suck. Splitting off old ops into there own banner was a neat idea, but making stuff pulled from it generate a new grossly less valuable byproduct is dogshit. Any newer players that want to roll for older ops are basically getting fucked. I have literally everyone on it but Angy so ill never roll on it and it doesn't really effect me arguably even helps (smaller pool means higher to be spooked by new ops) but it blows for newer players which is NOT the direction you want to be going when trying to sustain an aging game.
I suppose my one regret will be Skadi bring stuck at Pot5, despite having never pulled on single banner with her, forever. It's been real fish women but it seems this is the end of you mugging everyone to show up constantly in my off banner rainbow bags.

Don't worry, you can still see her again when going for Top Op + Guard/Survival/DPS/Melee recruitments, all of which she shares with at least two other Operators. She can still spook you one more time :')
@@TheDarkChaplain that's true actually one pot is from that already now that I think back. Course it won't happen now because I wouldn't mind (I run her with the fast deploy module mainly so the last DP reduction would actually not be bad.)
The fact that you need like 190 pulls if not more to get a guaranteed NONLIMITED character, and the fact that it doesn't count onto the next banner just...makes this whole thing absolutely useless to me...
It just means that if you are saving to spark a banner there won't be any nonsense like only getting off banner six stars. And if you have never managed to save enough to spark a single banner, I pity your account.
Arknights’ gacha has always been a pretty awful system tbh. It’s hard carried by good game design letting you succeed with minimal 6star units, but on its own merits the gacha sucks.
This is a fractional improvement, but so minor as to barely make a difference, while also vaulting the Year1 operators. Not great.
@@Lichtonatus What do you mean pretty awful system? The rates in this gacha are good enough to pull almost comfortably even if you don't want to spend money. I've been playing this game for almost a year and it has taken me on average 50-70 pulls to get a limited operator. The pity system is for a case of extremely bad luck the way I see it. Gacha itself is generous as fuck.
As an aside, your anecdotal 50-70 for Limited units is meaningless. Average pity for a limited is ~142 on raw percentile value (allowing for spooks) or ~148 on soft pity. Your being lucky has no bearing on the system, but congrats on your luck nonetheless.

And all those good Year 1 operators are being vaulted essentially - who will pull for them when we’ve been trained to hoard for Limited Banners.

It's basically the Blue Archive Spark System but 50 less summons. And there is essentially two universal pities to keep track of. One for Standard and one for Core. Core is just AK equivalent of the Standard Gacha in the Mihoyo games.

@Shines - MiHoYo games *also* have pretty bad gacha systems, although at least core units from GI or HSR can appear in other banners.
You’re right about Blue Archive in terms of raw numbers, but that’s where the comparison ends. The income rate, utility of spark currency, per-banner restriction in AK, and requirement to actually pull a 6star *after* 150 make these very different systems.

Blue archive is much more generous with pulls compared to arknights, its so easy to get a 200 guaranted and a lot of random spooks that are useful and great.
In arknights. The spooks either gives you a dupe of a 6 star you already have or a 6 star that isn't so useful comapared to the new 6 star you are pulling.
Oh boy. From what I see is the only changes are 300 is now guaranteed pity compared to before you can still fcking fail to pull for main banner after 300 pulls. (Unlucky existence)
And a shop that seperates old 6 star ops from newer stronger ones.
Which is good? Some of the 1 year ops are strong but not all of them. And newer 6 stars tend to be more broken.

Not exactly, you should still be able to get them from that blue banner and the blue permit is cheaper than the yellow permit from the yellow cert store. The only catch is that you would be using resource for getting new operators.

Does it affect how frequent we get our green certs and yellow certs? Like after this, will we get less of the green and yellow? Hopefully it stays the same, else it would be harder to purchase 6 stars from shop or purchase mats
