For me, the biggest disappointment in her kit is the fact that her tornados in s3 break after hitting an enemy. This just looks wrong. I think if those tornados could attack all enemies in her range, then she would be much better
They could have gave her the Typhon S2 treatment. Where she does 3 hits with the tornados (single-target, like normal skills), and split them if there are more enemies in range. That way, the tornados won't go to waste because they won't be separate entities. It would make her really strong though.

@@trendmadegamer8725 Highly doubt it. Siege's, Shining's, Eben's, Skadi's, (etc) second modules are quite great. Plus Eben needed a year (plus some months) to get a module that dances well with his kit.
Add on top of that the cn community (from what I have heard) is quite fond of her as well, and tada.

@Thalasseven to be (kind of) fair...at least lava is somewhat useful...even though she's a 3 star, but just in a few occasions, but i don't think snek mama needs a drastic buff, she's pretty balanced and great for most levels except bosses

Surprisingly, an honest review. Thought on the hype from this event there would be tips on immediate M9 fullpot snake
I feel like Ho'ol on her own falls very short. In a world with more Levitate Ops however, she could be very useful. Until then, she isn't a particularly high priority.
To be fair, she is a decent character at crowd control as she has both the levitate and the silence and she can use them from a long distance.
Most people complain about her damage, I care more about her uptime, and right now post module Mostima is doing more work than Ho'ol sadly. Which is a shame because I love her design.
If they made her a support slow I would agree with this position
But she’s a caster really handicaps her potential and makes her depend on a future module to preform her class functions is a really nasty handicap
As it currently stands I legitimately struggle to see why you wouldn’t just use amiya or legit Angelina in place of her with probably better dps and control uptime as well
She's a core caster, ofc people would bitch about her damage when it's THAT pitiful.
It's like they were afraid to put proper numbers into her. Her talent that increases her damage against Leviosa'd enemies needs a severe number buff, if not at least make the tornado levitate remain after levitating another so she could at least be useful in that regard.
Her S3 literally only levitates once every hit, has poor uptime and damage so hideous that even Vigil gained existence.
Her S2 is... I don't even know what to say about it.
They could've made her a levitate support and crank her CC up but they said "how about a core caster? But let's not make her too strong lolz" and proceeds to severely overestimate her kit for some reason.
I like her so much that it's disappointing I can't do much with her, Irene was done well enough as a levitate non-limited in an anniv banner, why couldn't they do it again for the snussy?😭😭😭
@@tylerulfmann4586 Casters in general have always been ill optimized for damage, they don't have the range of most snipers, they don't have the stats of melee characters, they are forced to be deployed on aerial tiles and can be sneezed on to be killed.
Like the handful of casters that are really good and worth using are all 6 stars like Eyja, Goldenglow, Ceobe and Passanger do so by being so extroadinary that they make almost every other caster look strait up bad by comparison.
This is different for every other archetype as there is rarely a unit that is so good that they powercreep everyone. Amoung say specialists yeah Gladia is pretty good but you would find that every other 6 star in the specialist archetype is very useful and there is a lot of 5 stars that can do things most 6 stars can't. Or defenders who might have 6 stars like Mudrock and Penance who seem like a be all end all choice but then you find some outliers like Aurora, Gummy, Abestos and Quora who all have things going for them that aren't strictly better vs Mudrock and Penance.
@@HandleDeeezNutz You have to understand she is standing next to Ceobe and Eyja who both systematically break the caster class by existing and render essentially every other caster so weak by comparison that even a 6 star like Ho'ol can look bad.
Besides I am not concerned about her damage, I am worried about her high sp cost. If she could spam tornadoes forever then you could pretty much see her as a constant dps like you would a sniper and even her lax damage could be forgiven. But no they had to give her an 80 sp cost on S3 cause why not.
Plus she deals decent enough damage on low res enemies that honestly its fine that she isn't another game breaking burst god. Numbers aren't really the issue for me in this case its just simple lack of uptime.
So is Mostima.
Even if she is bad right now, there still is hope with modules.
And even if another module doesn't fix her problems... Both Anne Yatco and Miyuki Sawashiro did an amazing job. Absolute mommy energy is all I need hehe
About what you are saying at 7:08, I'm not sure if you are talking about Ceobe's S3 but if you are then Ho'olheyak S3 has bigger range than Ceobe's S3. A normal core caster has 10 tiles (3x3 + 1 tile in the middle of one of the sides) from E1+. Ceobe's S3 makes this 3x4 tiles adding two tiles and making it a typical AA sniper range. Ho'olheyak gets 3x5 tile range with S3 which is 3 tiles more than Ceobe's S3, and is basically the same as AOE sniper (Meteorite, W) range at E2. If we look at another 6 star core caster who gets extended range (yes, Eyjafjalla S3), she basically just mirrors her default range in three other directions making her the center of the large range, but distance in each of the directions is still max 3 tiles.
I'm not saying if Ho'olheyak is good or not but she certainly has the largest (although not the longest; Ifrit's 1x6 tiles (when including her own tile) range is one tile longer) AOE range in one direction. Eyjafjalla clearly has the largest overall: 9 tiles in the middle + 4 tiles in each directions so 9+16 = 25 tiles range compared to Ho'olheyak's 15 tiles. However, if you want someone who do crowd control, or just attack enemies far away, Ho'olheyak is likely the only one who can reach enemies 4 tiles away from her (Dusk also gets extended range both with S2 and S3 but front tiles are at most 3 tiles away from her). Additionally levitation duration isn't too bad, 2.2s (although it's only +0.2s compared to rank 7). With a long skill duration she works nicely for crowd control.
Would it be nice if she could hit multiple enemies with her whirlwinds? Sure, of course, but in situations where enemies are coming one by one, not in groups, or if I can first clear the groups out with other operators leaving only stronger ones alive, or if I'm using operators who can attack levitating enemies, or if I just need her to stall the enemies to help with charging the skills of the other operators, I could see her being useful in various situations. Also, she could be deployed next to a Ifrit lane and stall enemies for Ifrit's S2. Ifrit could take down weaker enemies while Ho'olheyak could stall the ones that survive.
It's hard for me to say yet if I'll be using her a lot but I upgraded her to E2 (no masteries or module yet), and she has been fine so far at what she does.
People build her for the meme, some do it because they like her lore.
I build her because I genuinely see uses for her kit. Even S1 has it's uses, I wished it was manually activated though.
Honestly, I can't see how they will make her second module, but I really hope they fix her second talent. It is straight up bad.
S2 and S3 are worth masteries if you understand how it works and how to use it. Otherwise, she'll just be rotting in your account.
She has an interesting kit and they just nerf her numbers. Just like Virgil but dude is free so it's more forgivable.
I'm using her just fine as a regular caster. And s3 occasionally for its range. Just wish she had better damage or up time. To at least make her look like a 5th year 6 stars rather than a 1st year one.
I think her next module should apply "silence" per attack, the only reliable silencer is Lappland, but she is a ground unit, so she would be like a ranged option of that, also, make it so after using her skill the frist time she gains back a set amount of sp (like specter alter) anyways i have hope! modules made passenger from a laughing stock to the best of his archetypes, she can be worked with!

Yes but said module doesnt adress ANY of her issues, its just a damage buff, as i said before she needs something to make her more reliable, maybe buff her aspd a lil more so her tornados wont always attack the same enemy in the front row.

Modules only improve trait and upgrade talent/giving new talent
And there's so many fail case like Phantom, Hellagur, Chen, where their second module ended up being useless even though they are pretty weak. They first module are good because the talent are good.
But both hool talent are mediocre and probably her 2nd one only giving more weight loss.
Got 2 of her in a bag at 70 pulls. At least Mumu came only 10 more after! Also got a Dorothy early on, so that is fun. Replenished some pulls with yellow certs and now we can proceed with the savings.

Tbh they should have reduce atk interval for s3 ratherthan increasing it for the already many limitation that it has like long downtime, not splash damage, and the damage multiplier being dependent on the enemy position

I like Dorothy and trapmasters in general. Team landmines likes levitating enemies so we can slide mines under them. So I don't mind using snek as much as some others.
Still build her and will M6 her skills because I don't need no other reason to welcome and bathe my waifu with glory and love.

The Floof Snek-Birb was the reason I've started this game (she is E2 lvl 60 already) and after 40 pulls I have 1 Snek, 1 Horn aaand 3 Muelsyse, truly an event of a lifetime
I also start this game for the same reason. I got 2 Hool and one Mumu after 130 pulls
bruh I got no mumu after 120, really wanted her and basically now she’s unobtainable since sparking means skipping limiteds which I won’t do
grinded 2 hours, all the op out of my side stories and got a hool; she’s staying at level 1 forever
I had to make 220 pulls just to get her. you bet I will build her regardless!
(Mumu was my first 6* this banner, I should've called it there)
Should you build Ho'olheyak? No. But I did so anyways. Because I want that crazy.
For her next potential module, here’s my idea.
Every time an enemy is levitated, the corresponding enemies in close proximity will also receive levitate and damage depending on skill.
(This is to enhance her role as “levitator” and have more crowd control to enemies)
And to adjust her talent: lower the weightless from 80% to 70% then to 60%
(This is to strengthen shifting for operators, EX: pullers, pushers)
And overall: a general increase in damage, and defense.

I already have almost all the good meta units, so I gave myself the luxury to build and m3 her. Despite her problems I think she's pretty fun to use. Some buffs from IS and SSS modes can make her better and more flexible. Also I think she's more like the enemy waves and crowd control type than a Boss killer.
i can agree except about enemy waves because those long intervals and the single target nature from S3

Everyone seems to crap on flying snake, but honestly she's really fun to use. Her S3 has solid range, binds targets it hits, lasts a long while, hits three lanes, and goes through walls. Sure Eyjafjalla will practically always be better, but that's true for every caster not named Goldenglow or Ifrit. Regardless she has a fun mechanic (especially if she's next to a sniper that does bonus damage to flying targets), and does her job well enough.
I’d say she is a very strong in integrated strategies due to how many buffs exist
I personally plan to keep her in my back pocket as a multi-tile boss killer.
Yeah having her attack speed start to become a normal caster speed on skill 3 helps a lot with making her stuns more consistent

If I were to change the effects of Skill 3
Change Range into a Blast Caster, Summon a Whirlwind that will pull enemies in and deal AOE Arts damage.

I have already built her her voice actor 20/10 job NGL just love her character and her theme just slap
I was planning on pulling till I get her as well, but due to all of the upcoming operator, I had to stick with just Mumu
I just finished the story and my mind is blown
I had nearly 200 worth of pulls saved up with tickets and orundum and o.p, i got ho ol 2 times, penance once, Quibai 2 times, and pallas once. AND NO MUMU, intrusive thoughts are winning!
Side note, much like Indra im building her out purely out of adoring her artwork
Artwork is a more valid reason than any to build an op. I think a lot of people that gave this game a chance, didn't like tower defense. They came because of the artwork.

from the outset, its clear she was supposed to work together with other ops, yeah she's a single target caster, but i've been using her effectively to hold down three lanes and using the single hit tornado's to pick up those who either die too quickly from my actual dps'rs (friendly reminder that levitate makes enemies count as aerial and a s3m3 exu is still a terrifying sight to behold for said enemy) or another caster to pinpoint the heavies down
yes eyja is busted and ceobe does the deeps, which means we already have aoe and st covered for core casters,
our little feathered serpent doing cc is basically adding to the pool of excellence that is core casters, meaning if need be, we can burst down our murder entire groups with just the three of them, without needing slowers of any kind.
and on that note, im glad the powercreep isn't in full effect all the time, she feels like a good addition to the roster and a fun character to mess around with, but then i guess that word has been a taboo in the gaming scene for a long time now.

I think she is okay, it's just there is not much levitate-related mechanics in the game. She will probably shine at some point in future (inhales huge dose of copium).
after looking at the game play she might help with animation canceling not the best pick of course but if you dont have the others its better then nothing
If only her skill 3 would continue moving forwards while picking up all of the enemies in the line.
The only way I can see myself using it is with Dorothy. You can't put Dorothy's bombs on the enemy's foot, but if he has Levitate, you can. Hoolmama support for Dorothy.

Her skill needs rework.
For skill 3 to be a good idea she needs +1 or +2 range connected to uptime.
So giving her Shirayuki or Heavyshooter range/Deadeye Range during skill up would make her worth the effect.
Now if you give Angelina -1 weight connecting to levitate as a mechanic, she can use this amazing combo.
Say....
- 1 weight = +levitate damage ratio +2. So in this scenario she would gain 400+100% damage while angelina reduces weight.
Or
Skill 3 rework on levitate - doesn't disappear, she gains ASPD, levitate is all front 3 rows that won't be missed, and is a zone effect.
This way nearer to her she suffers fro what she currently has - but at the front 3 rows she gains a 400% almost guaranteed damage multiplier and strengthen her overall kit application. You can also as a result of this rework, take away her initial SP charge as a whole.
Rework is a myth in arknights.
If rework is a thing, they just gonna straight upgrade operator without implementing module upgrade.
Rework only happen in Beta and so far, at most they only do small buff on operator just because they Class is Weak (Brawler) or unintended effects like Nightmare + Weedy
So for Hool? Her Class is on of strongest from game released and no bug happen on her Kit
Module never change/buff operator Skill directly, only if Skill is directly Connected to Operator Talent they can buff it like Mostima S3

i wish her S2 just had full Starting SP and, honestly, as a 6*star, it could have a duration similar to Amiya's S2. one or the other at least, to allow for some fun Helidrops. would it be meta? probably not but it would at least be something for her to use.
Wow, looks like I really got shafted. Got 2 ho'olheyaks instead of literally any other operator, but what can you do *shrug. I'm sure she'll be useful at some point, but I have Eyja so feels bad.
I love her personality though. I guess I'll build her after building other 6 stars I got
