He's a good bull. He's so polite to you when you're on the ground under him. You can see him actively avoiding stepping on the riders. Fascinating.
I'm a cowgirl you're not fooling me.😂
Yes cus it doesn't wanna trip.
Facts I noticed that Bodaicous was the best bull ever
He was known as the most dangerous bull around his time
@@Fennywap59 Is it me or did he appear to be avoiding stepping on the down rider as he ran across him?
Bodacious will go down as the greatest bucking bull but one thing he doesn't get credit for is his clean sportmanship. Watch his athleticism and coordination as he comes down over a fallen rider and somehow avoids steping on them. That is class.
Bodacious will be remembered as being the toughest, hardest most athletic bull in the game. Not many rode him. He wasn't mean and nasty to his riders like others and he really loved to show his stuff and strut it on stage. He was just a great all round bull wh O knew what he had to do and loved it.
Do not tell Tuff Hedeman that he was not mean and nasty after he tore his face almost off. The reason his owner retired him was because he thought he might kill someone.
please look up bandido out of brazil and ill promise youll change your mind
I just commented the same. You can see him actively avoiding stepping on the down riders. Didn't go after the clowns and ran back to his stall after the rider was off.
Pretty good deal to be an athlete, I'm sure they stud him out as well.
I got on him in 1991 in Stillwater Oklahoma. Lost 2 teeth and took 19 stitches in my chin.
He's been gone 25+years and we Still think about him....Bodie was that Great !!!
Never killed anyone! Tuff was the coward who got him retired cause of a broke nose! All bo did was squat and kick back. Never chased a rider.
Enjoying his work! Great caretaker can enhance this in a smart animal. Watch him hold a front foot off a downed rider. Stay safe. Eat Beef.
😆😆😆@@wildestcowboy2668
@@wildestcowboy2668Actually Tuff virtually had to have his face reconstructed. As well as serious damage to cervical disc in neck!💘🐂 A little different nerve damage could have landed him in wheelchair. In the end it was Andrews (stock contractors) who made decision to retire Bo💔🤔
@@Lynnmusiccowgirlit was definitely worse than a broken nose, but the way bodacious is demonized by some folks is bizarre. Can’t get upset with a bull for figuring out a way to get people off of his back. Bull riding is a dangerous sport, people have lost their lives participating & can’t be mad at a bull for being a bull
He gave them all the time they needed to tie on, then the gate opened, MY TURN
The biggest respect for that bull was he knew his job...he NEVER went after a downed rider.. He was a teddy bear after retirement. True professional.
Jean Fish Love this Comment !! I just subscribed to your channel.
Hope you head over to mine ( hurry up though - I’m doing a Free Knife Of Your Choice Giveaway This Thanksgiving 2019 - ends midnight Black Friday ).
Have a safe and Happy Holiday season ❤️🤠🔪
Do those bulls really know that? They are so fierce beautiful animal.
Bodacious is the best bull big respect
Pretty crazy to watch the bulls feet stepping around that last rider. You can almost get the sense that the bull was trying NOT to step on him.
@@SocketSilver Yes, absolutely. If you study Bodacious you will find he rarely stepped on a rider accidentally and I've never seen him go after one on purpose. Some bulls are aggressive and will always go after a rider 100% of the time, but not even be very rank.
The PASSION and WHIT in the broadcasters! 🙌🏻 Absolute pleasure to hear them and watch this badass creature.
Can't believe these guys rode these beasts with NO PROTECTION back than. Much much respect
I love Bodacious! He’s not mean for if he was, he would have left a trail of death in his wake. He is just extremely big, but the way he moves is like he is making deliberate moves with each and every muscle group on his body. He doesn’t just Buck up and down or in circles. He can shimmy and shake like the #DallasCowboyCheerleadears !! He can swirl like a tornado, and leap out of the gate like he’s gonna run hurdles while the entire 8seconds if anyone makes it that long he puts all of these moves into his Buck-Offs!!
He was beautiful. I remember watching him back in the early 90s.
I’ve seen mean bulls in the finals. They go after a guy and don’t give up until one of them are no longer moving.
Not Bodacious. He was just a superb athlete.
As I watch this phenomenon I was fascinated by the way he mooves and at the end the announcer says he really doesn't want to hurt you so with that said every move that he made he had a chance to do the one Stomp and yet he twists his body somehow and does not touch any of the cowboy's at all tell me if anybody else sees the same thing.
Mr Bodacious your truly beautiful R.I.P.
Bodacious knew his game. He say you going for a very short ride you fool. Bodacious was one of the best.
There have been more athletic bulls in recent years, but I don't think we've seen one yet with Bo's raw power.
Bodacious: Half big bull - half jack rabbit. No other like him. Still love this old footage of this World Champ.
Bodacious is still the most famous bull or any rodeo animal there is, just look at the UA-cam channels, he still gets more attention and clicks today then any other bull in the world. His legend will live forever, some just have that IT factor, this bull has it.
@tommymorano7254
As he should get the most clicks and attention. Bodacious is a legend for his ability to throw riders and not try to hurt them as if to say "Mess with this bull you get thrown but you don't get the horns"
Took my son to the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame a couple of weeks ago. Bodacious is well respected. My favorite bull!!
where is that at?
@@reelsteelesharkfishing6329 Colorado springs, CO
I really like blueberry wine I think he is the most beautiful bull I've ever seen
This bull is so famous I first heard about him in a Primus song. It was my gateway into becoming a bull riding fan. The song was called "the ballad of Bodacious" btw.
We need announcers nowadays that are as exciting as this fella is.
Bob Tallman still announces many pro rodeos all across North America to this very day
if you watch at 7:59 to 8:03, Bodacious (like the announcers say in the slower replay just later that he's not mean 'but hunts you down like a dolphin and just kinda goes by') he actually keeps his left front leg bent and skims it over Jeromes body instead of trampling him.. even while in a full bucking state.
Good call you're right!
God bless you Bodacious. What a soul.
i don't know if theres a tombstone where bodacious is buried, but if there is, nobody wants to sit on it
Lol
☝ Winner!
Bo is buried upright like he is standing up and he has a bucking shoote door as his tombstone bo the legend
ANDERSONS COMPANY RANCH IN TEXAS. REALLY.
Omg that is soooo hilarious.
You made my day. What a good laugh.
When a bull is the star...Bodacious...Respect!!!
My all time favorite
Have always loved this bull - he was so smart , having his own way of upending riders - miss him but he’s always in my heart❤️
I have never watched this sport and damn this is BEYOND interesting! That bull KNOWS he’s the man!
The bull looks so calm while he's standing in the pen, waiting patiently for the rider to get his grip together. Like he enjoyed this game more than the people did. So calm until they open the gate... like a boxer. It's a fight, but there's rules. We fight by the rules. but for sure it's a fight.
They thump their nuts
@@pipeslayer4603 No they don't. The rope is loose under their stomach
@@pipeslayer4603 Now let me ask you this....would you participate in any kind of athletic activity if someone was doing something to your nuts? Of course not, you would freeze up and not move at all. So why do you think an animal would be different? If you had their nuts tied up or hit or anything like that, they sure wouldn't jump around. They'd stand still as a statue. Use some critical thinking before you spew things that you've heard from some rando on the internet or an "animals rights" group
@@Matt_Bright_1983 there is nothing on the nut sack you weirdo
Great analogy
Man I loved the 90s
Yeah, the 90's were a great time.
Before everybody went puss
@@BHTK421 you stole my response.... 3 minutes ago
@@user-cs3zs6jn1d I just remember Tuff calling Lane a puss in 8 seconds though I was perfect in today’s day and age.....
Boomer
I remember watching a short documentary back in the 1990's after Bodacious had been retired, E entertainment cable channel I think it was a compilation of different rides including Tuff's and a guy wearing a football helmet that still got his eye sockets broken, I have always checked youtube sporadically every 3 or 4 years for new Bodacious videos, thanks for the upload. :^)
Such raw power. Watching this video bucked me off my seat.
Bodacious for the win...as always!
Bodacious = The Goat.
The baddest bull of them all.... He was a true champion an a beast in the arena.
Lots of respect for Bodacious and Tuff, and all who had the nerve to step up to him. Having said that... I had no idea that the Primus song "The Ballad of Bodacious" was based on an actual bull until this video somehow was suggested to me by the UA-cam agorithm. Very cool.
Love the way the bull just stands quietly while in the pen !
“More moves than a chicken full of ex-lax!” I have been laughing for twenty minutes and can not stop
With speed injested in gizzard
That is a very big powerful bull!! The intensity of the announcers says it all
Threw him off like a dirty shirt in the corner 😂😂 love it.
The broadcasters did a hell of job....had me rolling i tell you what gary...
Bodacious just looks graceful in his face and eyes when he's bucking. He was born to buck.
“More moves than a Chicken full of Ex-Lax!” LoL
I like the commentating from the commentator that's a good one "the yellow whale" indeed great video.
Takes me back. I remember this grand bull.
Miss You Bodacious 🐃
Missy Tucker So Sweet ❤️🤠🔪❤️🤠🔪 I had to sub to your channel. You are so invited to my channel as well .

8:00 best line I’ve ever heard in sports broadcasting.
As soon as I saw your name ,I had to subscribe haha.
You are so invited to my channel as well ❤️🤠🔪
Boda...a Mama's nightmare..
Watching these rides is interesting, because this was before vests & helmets for rider protection. Would B. still be as awesome today? Yes; I believe he would still be as unrideable today as he was back then. He's been gone 25+ years and still remembered.
Bodacious is my favorite bull of all time!
Mine too. He was a magnificent creature and truly was one of a kind. There have been many since him but NONE were or are his equal. Hands down, the greatest ever.
90s were amazing.
That bull was a beast.
I remember that big, bad bull! One of THE best!
He was the best. Soon after Bo learned how to buck the rider forward and throw his head back he was retired.
bodacious is the goat of bucking bulls just like secretariat was the goat of horse racing
@@mike.j3913 Amen!
Once he got that headbutt worked out...he would suck you way down and pop his head back with lightning speed and smash your face.......just an unbelievable bull
This Bull fully understood his assignment 😂😂😂❤
Best commentary in any sport hands down
Bodacious would be the last bull i’d get on.
Altho I gotta say, it really didnt look like he was trying to hurt anyone.
A lot of the newer and younger riders say Bodacious was one dimensional or not as athletic as other bulls but I don’t know if any bull that was as feared or respected as Bodacious.
They only say that because they know they’ll never have to ride him
It's easy for them to say knowing they will never draw, bodaicous name
Bodacious was a very professional bull.
I'm a ten year Demlition Sergeant Combat Engineer, & a proud American. I love the rodeo, but strictly a watcher. Those boys are crazy. Evel Knievel wouldn't get on Bodacious. Me either.
Dirk Hinkle It’s a mentality, as a bull rider there is only one thing on your mind all the time and that’s riding bulls. I rode bulls professionally for seven years (I was know where near the top like these guys) I didn’t have any other interest except riding bulls. As a bull rider you studied these bulls and there is no doubt in you mind you can ride him. On top of it all you only get paid if you stay on and win! Thank you for your service!!
Thank you for serving!
@@BullRidingNow Of course you're welcome BRN but then i have to thank you as well for contributing to USA being better than any other place on earth! I have 4 grown sons & I couldn't have made it beautiful enough to keep 'em here without your help. I'm forever grateful. MAGA, who ever is President.
@@NickW.H. I thank you for such a great description of your 7 year trade. Getting old means a list of things you take that serious & I really identified with that level of dedication. Looking forward to seeing how you next make my Country Greater, if that were possible. God Bless America.
When you get pulled down in the well , it breaks every bone in your face. It's very far from pleasant. I did it once. My teeth still hurt. I wouldn't recommend it.
Damn, it looks like the bulls is so differently smart, so mature and so sharp and knows exactly what he is doing and trying not to stampede on the riders
forever the yellow bull
Baddest bull on the planet.
Best bull ever .... legend
Todd Anderson do you ever remember the bull rambo? He was another one
He didn't get the numbers he definitely should/would have because not too long after Bo learned to throw his head back immediately after throwing the rider forward, they declared him too deadly and retired him.
If ever there was a bull you could call the GOAT, Bodacious was it
@@c.brannan1782 amen brother ... he was my bull .... always
I love, love, love this time in my life. Brings back the best memories ever!! That bull is still being talked about lol amazing. Love hearing old familiar names and love seeing Loyd Ketchum out there!! Thanks for the video keep them coming!! Subscribed now!!
90s...were those the time or what
It warmed my Hart to see NC own Jerome Davis on Bodacious. I had forgotten about Jerome getting a shot at him. A lot of Legends in this Video
That’s one beautiful animal. 🇬🇧
That slow mo of the bull fighter getting sighted in is gold. That bull fighter had to clean his drawers out after that I’m sure.
Best commentator EVER
OMG!! That is one bad ass animal!! WHEW!!
i remember the night the pbr retired this bull
one of the best bucks I've ever seen.
This was a 2000lbs bull that had the athleticism of bulls that you see in more recent top bulls that are 1200 and 1400lbs
Boy oh boy Bodacious sure could get some air!
Whoever drew that bull's lot were shittin' their pants before they even got on him. What a beast?
My dad was in a rodeo with him but was lucky enough not to draw him
Wish I owned even a little piece of that bull!! What an athlete!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
“This bull has more moves than a chicken full of ex-lax!”😂
It's the Bodacious launch!!!
Rocket Man
I wish i could have had a shot at this dude. Much respect to Bodacious!
Yep and if my aunt had nuts shed be my Uncle.

At 2:34 great great bull great rider great commentary I have watched this slow mo part so many times how he recovers the first is amazing and then he almost does it again
Got on a bull out of Bodacious once named Bo Slam. He slammed me into the ground on my left elbow so hard it popped my shoulder out.
Good Ole Days!
Another great watch is Bandido he's a great bull as well.
Such rich picture quality for 90's standards.
He's got more moves than a chicken full of exlax. Lol 😂😂😂😂
Incredible athlete
Sure am glad to have experienced watching this!!!
One of my favorite bulls
The best
Bulls are athletes too.
Bodacious was a decedent of Oscar, who was the king-slayer bull of the 1970s. He ripped Larry Mahan's tendons out of his arm.
Those announcers are way better than current announcers. Lol.
Louis and Clarke, I hope you're watching the show tonight because superman can't ride that bull!
This is comic crossover I need to see now!
I think Bodacious remembered the few people who ride him because second time in him he bucked even harder the rider didn't last long. Tuff Hedeman rode him next time Tuff got on Bodacious nearly ended his life.
Tuff still has the metal plating in his face to validate that. He pulled many a cowboy down on the back of his head tuff hit the mark.
Such a beautiful animal
🌻🐝
There will always be people who will claim that this bull or that bull was better or even remember which one was BUT
EVERYONE KNOWS AND EVERYONE REMEMBERS WHO
BODACIOUS WAS 💪😎
my traveling partner drew a bull dec.6 1961 that had bucked 200 times and never rode till that night.
I Love You Bodacious ❤
I have only watched a couple of rodeos but I vividly remember this bull. The slow motion shots are amazing. That vertical twist. I wonder as sure footed as he was, did he ever stumble, fall or flip over? I hope he got to make lots of little calves to take his place.
Many bull-riders say, "There was only *one* Bodacious." (The owners sent out lots of his "juice," but there's never been another B.)
I've seen these videos years ago, they have been released for some time. I've seen the Terry Don West video where he covered Bodacious, saw where Tuff got jerked down, 6 titanium plates and about 6 hours reconstructive surgery on his face.
I remember that like yesterday. I was watching when it happened and it was bad.
That bull has more moves than a chicken full of exlax !! That's has to be one of the best comments ever !! 🤣
Bodacious!!!
You don’t have to be crazy to ride bulls, but it helps.
Bodacious was so dangerous because of how he threw his head back then rocked forward throwing the rider down on his head coming back up. That is a move that can kill someone instantly. Tuff Hedeman rode him once and the next time he thres him down on his head/horns and crushed Tuff's face. Tuff drew him in the NFR and he just turned him out rather than get back on him. The next rider that drew him tried to ride him and got the same treatement but he was wearing a helmet but still was knocked unconscious.
I traded a big older Brahman bull to a rodeo contractor friend several years ago that did the same move...they named him HeadKnocker and he put several young riders in the hospital. (I raised him from a calf and he was gentle but didn't like to be riden). He had a bad reputation for hurting riders with his head movement and for starting to jump out of the arena. He died of a heart attack after a couple of years on the rodeo circuit.
I don't think it's intentional. He doesn't know what a rider looks like on his back. I think he just has so much power thrown on his back end and has so much power bringing his front end back up again that it throws the rider on his head.
He isn't letting his rear end fall to the ground, he is forcing it back down by throwing his head back up. So at the peak, his backend is all the way up, and his head is coming up to bring it back down. Perfect use of power in bucking.
@@XBoysAtWorkX Yes I agree, I don't think it was intentional to try to hurt the rider, it was his way of "winding up" his power in his front end to jump high and then drop down and then jerk his head back up to start it again.
The art of hitting the dirt and getting up with a sliver of dignity.
Did anyone see the grill on that girl at 3:05? Damn
