Mine has been making this noise for at least a year. I suspect I am lucky it has not had functional problems. Until I just realized what the issue is, I was trying to select my blend door at half-way open sometimes. It is not built for that, but sometimes I need air but less than the lowest setting. This is because blowing air dries out my contact lenses, so I need it to be slowly blowing. I get hot if I completely redirect the air to either my feet, the defrost panel, or the passenger. Oh, well. I am happy it still works! I was worried it was something related to my brake system or the A/C pump, since it was definitely not an engine problem. (It didn't change sound when the RPMs changed.)
My 03 Volvo s80 just started doing it. Was so scared at first seeing as I just had new catalytic converter installed I didn’t want another serious problem. See if I can do this replacement myself. Thanks for the info! ✨
Had this issue on my Silverado seeing as where i live definitely need ac but not heat i just unplugged the actuator for passenger side and stuck a screwdriver in the hole n turned it untill cold air was coming out
Did you ever figure this out? Because I've had them go out with the clicking noise before and I've replaced them. Recently, my ac started only blowing hot air on the passenger side. I can adjust the drivers side, but when I turn it on, the passenger side only blows hot air. I thought it might be the actuator, but I don't hear that clicking noise that I've heard in the past before I replaced them. I also changed the resistor not long before that by the way
I'm looking for help I just replaced my mode actuator and the defrost actuator, pulled the fuses to recalibrate still only blows out the defrost and floor only, it's a 2009 GMC envoy, what's next ?
So my ac on driver side is warmer than passenger, but when I raise and lower the temp both sides go up and down normally and the blend door motor looks fine. Also the low pressure valve is cold. Model: 2016 Honda accord lx 4 cyl
I have the Venza 2012 . I can only open the door by key fob but can not lock. My mechanic told me that 4 lock actuator fail.... Is it possible 4 of them fail at the same time ? Thank you
It's uncommon for all four door lock actuators to fail at the same time, but not impossible. To be sure, consider getting a second opinion from a different mechanic.
2009 ford Taurus X, replaced all 3 actuators and air will still not come out the front facing vents, only top and feet position work. I still have clicking on startup on driver side and squeaking . What can it be
Where would this be located in an ecosport titanium and is it repairable at home? It sounds like it may be in the passanger side near or under the dash. Not even sure how id access it.
I'm trying to narrow down the issue on my 2015 Nissan Murano. When I first start my SUV, even if the vents are on head, they do not blow any air. The system will SOUND like it is blowing, and as you turn up the flow, it sounds louder, so it is working. However, air doesn't come out. The only way I can get the air to start coming out of the head vents is to turn the vent to front defrost, listen for a little clicking sound indicating the air is then blowing into the windshield, then I can turn it back to head vent, and it blows from those vent. Is that a actuator issue?
@@easyautofix Yep, I was making sure it wouldn't harm the engine. Thank goodness for this video, really helped calm my nerves and explain what was actually going on!
I think I have an issue with mine but, my air is fine. My heat however only comes out the drivers side vent. To be exact the one on the right. The one on the left cold air and both passengers cold air. Defrost and floor is also cold

My old Ford Aerostar had vacuum controlled blend door system
That's crazy I never knew what that noise was when I had an Impala. Keep up the great content!
yeah, i got same thing on 2007 impala. Heat stopped working a week after the clicking noise started

Yo that sound kicking my balllls so bad
Will try to change that one
Thanks most informative video ever❤

Great information. Thanks so much.
What if I don’t have noise but my passenger side is blowing warm to hot .. is it still the blend door actuator?
Yes
Very possible its a resistor

But what if it sounds like a knocking noise, not that ticking noise in the video? It does do it when my car has ran for awhile with air or heat
You have little leprechauns living in your engine. They are knocking on dash. You have to lure them out with cookies.
Hmmm I get great heat and air conditioning in is a slow rhythmic loud bang when only when the known is is in outside air position
I'm looking for help I just replaced my mode actuator and the defrost actuator, pulled the fuses to recalibrate still only blows out the defrost and floor only, it's a 2009 GMC envoy, what's next ?
How do I recalibrate the actuators after replacing them
There’s a 2-button press reset I read about from a comment online - but it depends on the vehicle.
So my ac on driver side is warmer than passenger, but when I raise and lower the temp both sides go up and down normally and the blend door motor looks fine. Also the low pressure valve is cold.
Model: 2016 Honda accord lx 4 cyl
Could this specific knocking or tapping sound cause my air conditioner to blow warm air ?
Because my truck is making that rapid tapping sound.
The mechanic was wrong… I did not listen to him. The door lock works normally again 1 month later without any fixing
What
Causes a clicking in my dash that sounds like i'm turning the directionals on and off continuously
2009 ford Taurus X, replaced all 3 actuators and air will still not come out the front facing vents, only top and feet position work. I still have clicking on startup on driver side and squeaking . What can it be
i’m having the same problem on my hyundai sonata 2013
I still here ticking even though I changed out actuators it coming from whatever unit the actuator hooks up against under driver side of dash

what about if the recirculation button doesn't work
So do u need to replace it or not if the heat doesn't bother you??
It wont afffect your engine if that is what you are asking.

How much to change blend door actuator on seat ibiza

That’s the exact issue of mine. The heat and air will rotate with the other vents too after a few clicks back and forth

What if both sides are stuck on cold air? Does that mean that I have to change both
Never even heard of a blendor are they making shit up ? Ha ha ha
