Never store in plastic as the shroom will sweat & rot giving perfect condition for a tiny worm laid by flies to hatch & totally destroy your crop. The shrooms will turn to stinking mush in hours & believe me you will not eat that mush. When you get your crop home space every single shroom on large sheets of paper to dry & they will keep for months in dry & cool conditions ( Under a bed is ideal ). A4 sheets are ideal & you can get a hundred on here, spaced carefully from each other. I had thousands of shrooms stored like this for months on end. A decent haul will last you the entire year if stored like this. Shrooms growing on England & Ireland, ( British isles ), are ready for picking from Early September until the 1st hard frosts ( I have picked shrooms right up until Christmas during milder years). Happy Hunting fellow Psychonauts!!
@thesmileyone try to use a wicker basket so the spores can fall out! If you store them in a plastic bag or a bag where there is no chance of spores falling to the soil then its not very sustainable for the shroom population on that field. always make sure to flick the shroom too before you pick it so some spores fall to the ground right then and there. That way the mushrooms can grow on in that spot :)
Beatiful place bro, nice catch...But for next time try do not put them into the plastic bags...most kinds of mushrooms can absorb toxic substances from the bag. ;) paper bags or wooden baskets are the best :)
dude that whole flick before you pick is bull shit... the mushroom loses spores just picking it... and these fields are so old the mycelium is strong.. i doubt they could ruin the field even if they ripped every one out by the stipe
mostly late August to October is shrooming season (you will have more success if there was a lot of rain the days before or just in the summer in general)

also some people claim the shrooms may absorb some substances from the plastic bag that you dont want to ingest
