Great video, but can anyone tell me what prevents the vanguard from becoming its own class and suppressing people. Along with what they’ll do to kulakes who may be in the way of the revolution.
@Zurk maybe more of a council system in the vanguard to prevent single leaders, also maybe it should be like the United States congress where the vanguard chooses ideas that are presented by the rest of the state and this wouldn’t prop up single leaders because they should have rules. Not very sure.
thank you for this video but pls control your mic a little bit better😅 i mean no disrespect!! it's just that i have ear sensitivity and was hard to follow with the sound fluctuating:')
Great video and I agree with most of what you said but I have one contention, that being with your definition of the state. If it's defined simply as "an organ of class domination" doesn't that that corporations, churches, reactionary militias, political parties, etc are all states? plenty of institutions serve as organs of class rule but that doesn't make all of them state, does it?
I think its useful when talking to liberals about "Dictatorship of the proletariat" to mention that the word "Dictatorship" just refers to who controls society; that "Dictatorship of the proletariat" is just control of society by the working class as opposed to what currently exists under the capitalist mode of production; control of society by the capitalist class.
Thanks for sharing this video, comrade! For a few years I’ve been identifying with anarcho-communism, as it was the lens through which I first began truly learning about Marxism and historical leftist movements, after being a democratic socialist in my early 20s, and a cringe US libertarian before that in my teens. I think a lot of US-based leftists are drawn to anarchism because there is still so much misinformation about communism and Marxism-Leninism here, even within leftist and demsoc circles. (“Yeah we’re leftists, but we aren’t like those scary tankies! Pls take our political ideology seriously.”) Anyway, lately a lot of the contradictions within anarchism are becoming apparent. And a lot of what I really liked about anarchism, like anarcho-syndicalism for example, I’ve been finding to exist under other flavors of communism, and actually done better there. And lately I’ve been having to do a lot of mental gymnastics in trying to make sense of how anarchy would actually work in governing people. So I’ve been branching out recently and trying to read more discussions between anarchists and MLs, and about Marxism, MLism, and even Maoism, just to try to understand how theory has changed and been implemented over its history, and I really appreciate your explanation. What really sticks out to me is your comparison between pre-Soviet Russia to our current political and economical situation, because I’ve never considered that before or heard it discussed. Going back to my example of anarcho-syndicalism, my main frustration with that is that it feels impossible to gather enough strength and organization from the ground up from workers who may be completely ignorant of communist theory. Organizing a vanguard party to educate and organize workers sounds like a much more realistic tactic, especially in my country, where a systemic lack of education has been used for decades to prevent the lower classes from banding together.
You do know that socialism is stateless right? Socialism IS communism, furthermore it is also classless and moneyless. " Socialism is the lower form of communism, and the classless, stateless and moneyless utopian society and Marx described is the higher stage of communism." Marx's conception of Communism is not utopian btw.

@Zurk I agrée but maybe the organization can be similar.
