- Video taken on 2/23/13. Weekly test of the Laurens County outdoor warning system. This siren is tested every Saturday at 12:00PM. This siren started like 4 minutes late! And this siren sounds like it's only underpowered! The Whelen WPS 2902 at Presbyterian College on top of a building didn't go off for some reason. They could have not tested it because there is a game is gonna come on soon. Just after this siren does its test. You can faintly hear a red 3T22A in downtown Clinton, SC at Clinton fire department doing alert. This siren did VIBRATE my body and some of the College students are plugging their ears during this test! After I heard this siren. I decided to try find a another siren somewhere near Clinton, SC and I found it! It's a Sentry 10V at Whitten center off of Boulevard W and 4 Avenue! This siren is located at Presbyterian College off of Holland street and 5th Avenue.

I love the pitch of this STH-10
I like that sound too....
This is my favorite sound as well. The single phase/B model has a softer, more pleasant sound. That distinctive looking motor usually identifies them.
Totally Agree I wonder what the magic voltage number is on the siren
Speaker: test check
STH-10B: bruh what do you say, suspect
This is similar to the siren we used to have at our fire house. If you were standing near it while it was running you could feel your insides vibrating. It was pretty intense. One day I was working on the roof of the fire house, which put me on about the same level as the siren, when it sounded and was quite painful!
Why didn't they turn it off (cut the power) when they knew you'd be up on the roof?
@@st.michael4511 too dangerous. if OP was on the roof of a volunteer FD that did not have pagers, it would simply be stupid, because all of the firefighters rely on that siren to tell them when to get into their cars and rush to the station. im also quite confident he would have ear protection.
@themanhimselfsunny
I am not stupid, and I am aware of what the siren is used for. I know from experience that you are wrong on all counts. Go to your nearest VFD, ask about siren safety proceedures regarding workers or carnival rides in close proximity, and learn something.
(This subject is now closed and I will not be engaging in any related "debates".)
Oh jeez, at least the tinnitus was sacrifice for your hard work and dedication.
Single phased sirens are like everywhere in PA like limerick's 1000Bs which are being taken down. Lower providence's sick STL-10B and many more
I like that sound much. This sound is much better then thunderbolt.
Shew wee is this thing loud but being a volunteer fire fighter in my great grandfathers honor i love the sound knowing when my pager tones go. I get to go help someone in need
Sounds more like an Eclipse 8 than an STH-10. Ik it's sick BTW
NOT SICK LOWER VOLTAGE B SERIES
I know I'm like 5 years late, but it's not sick, B-series STH-10s (Single Phase Motor) usually have less power than A-series ones (Three-Phase Motor)
@@Eights_Coronel-864 what if there was a 2 phase one
@@sirensofsouthernillinois3287 I don't know, maybe it sounds almost the same
There's one in Blackfoot, too. It's a blue color and it goes off every day at noon.
I want to go to that one so bad. But i live in OC (oregon city)
awsome sounds great and healthy
That sounds like a Model 2 almost.
Long live single phase sirens
That's probably why most STH-10s seem to have been sold as 3 phase. Although I do like the sound of single phase as well.
It's not sick, it just has a horribly undersized motor for the given load. That's about all that poor motor can do with that big of a siren rotor, and this is also why so many of them burn up prematurely, because they're so overloaded.
It almost sounds like an eclipse 8
in the eerie clinton siren ambience it sounded like a asc t-121 or a t-128
Or both lol ik one is a 128
Sometime try to get a video with the college students covering their ears when this siren is being tested.
Jack Wood That would be funny! When I was recording this video of this siren, I actually saw a few college students plugging their ears. I don't know if I'm going back to this siren for a test. I just don't have any plans now. If I do go back, I will get the video with the college students plugging their ears. I just hope I don't get busted for filming the college students.
I know this siren isn't running full speed. Is it very loud at all? It still seems pretty loud. I guess that was why the students cover their ears.
it sounds great for the power it has its not bad at all
It's not sick! The single-phase (B) STH-10s have a lower tone than the three-phase (A) ones and are not nearly as common.
How do you know it isn't sick...Right from the description he says it is sick...He knows all about or what this siren is...If he says its sick its sick.
BBGIRLKyAsia\TheGamingCat I wouldn't say it is sick but more underpowered. With single phase sirens it is easier to put a lower voltage to it.
Mr.Someone \Tom/ true too
I actually like the sound of this one, albeit underpowered. Very eerie.
Not underpowered loser
Lmao but replying to a 7 year old comment makes you the king of cool right? Fuckin dork 😂
@@RubyBoognish B series motor LOWER power
A series HIGHER power
UNDER STAND THAT
There's no reason for you to be so rude to her.
Nice video
Fun fact:this siren has the same port ratio as an Stuka-b1 jericho trumpet
the jericho was a propellor attached to the landing gear.
I don't hear why this is sick. It just might not be running the kind of power most single phase STH-10s would.
people are wrong its just lower voltage and a b series
At 3:25 you can hear "TEST. CHECK" On a speaker near the STH-10. What was that??
I forgot to reply.. The test check is located at a nearby baseball field.
TrainsAndSirens1 Oh? What speaker was it? And did this STH-10 get hooked to the right power yet?
EpicEverythingDude75 The STH-10 has not been fixed. Unknown if it will.
TrainsAndSirens1 Oh ok. hope it will soon :-D
TrainsAndSirens1 what do you mean it hasn't been fixed yet?
sounds like a HOR super sirex
Why is the Pitch low?
It's underpowered while also using a single phase motor.
Is this STH-10B still standing? Because it's been a long time and this siren seems to be sick a bit.
It’s just underpowered
Sick? Underpowered? You guys are a bit wrong, most of B-series sirens have less power than the A-series sirens
@@Eights_Coronel-864 Is that not what underpowered means? 🤨
@@wingochan9400 Wait. Are you answering me after 6 years? Interesting
@@Eights_Coronel-864 Yeah, I was like 10 or 11 when I asked that. That was when I first got into tornado sirens. 😁
imaging putting this siren, on a fire engine!!!!!
It sounds like an ASC siren
i see no difference! EXCEPT THE PITCH!
Underpowered
OMG ITS NOT ITS A B SERIES AND THIS MEANS IT HAS LOWER POWER THAN A A SERIES MOTOR
Is this the STH-10B in the WPS 2902 video? (ua-cam.com/video/B7XkOBuswTw/v-deo.html)
correct
Me too!
TrainsAndSirens1 dose it has a dc motor or ac motor
Tsiren918 sirens of oklahoma severe weather alert it has a brush motor so it mainly runs on AC but you can run it on DC.
THAT IS WAY LOW!
Can Sth 10 do Hi Lo?
No
No
it doesn't have any solenoids
Not with a singular pitch! You need two or more different pitches to do a Hi-Lo. Including solenoids
CAWeatherAndMore If you put a damper in the intake of the siren. You'll be able to do Pulse.
wat makes the sound TEST CHECK ?
The test check is located at a nearby baseball field.
ya but wat make the sound
Obviously a Thunderbolt.
@@childishtombino1275 no
@@ctate427 it’s a PA speaker
Sad / sick STH-10 siren fast wail mode
not sick its a b series b= lower powered motor a= Fast Motor
I know I'm here a long time after this has been said. But it is underpowered, even though it's single phase. Either the brush angle is set so it peaks at such a low pitch or it's actually underpowered. Just because it's single phase, doesn't mean it isn't underpowered.
This is creepy
cool
Get a Thunderbolt.
this sth 10 is also good
Sick STH-10B
not
It’s underpowered because it runs on 3-phase
me too!
sure
That wasn’t a test. It was sounding for a tornado
In my town, they sound the tornado siren AFTER the tornado has struck, to let us know that there had been one.
Messed up fast wail
Its doing attack
4:16 I saw the chopper
Who is ACAP-50? Is that the real one from TSM?
@@TrainsAndSirens1 no
you can see it for the whole video LOL
This is the Lower Part of the 2T22
*upper*
End bye 2:52
Sick
not
It sounds sick.
not
It’s running 3-phase
Joking
