    Ultimately buy you surf gear from a local surf shop in your area. If you don't live next to one drive to it. This is a very important thing to do, surf culture and tradition is in dire need of help. What ever you do do not purchase your surf goods online and especially not Costco! If choosing a soft top board get an INT, they are handmade in Oceanside California. Second option would be a Catch Surf, even though they are made overseas they support actual team riders and have done a good job being a contributing brand. The very best thing you can do is buy a real surfboard hand crafted by an established shaper. Please think about the big picture if you are serious about taking up this lifestyle think what is best for surf tradition not where your going to get the best deal on a piece of crap board that will not get you respect in the long run.

    Cheers for the video
    Can you still catch and turn into green waves with an 8 foot board?
    I'm worried that 8ft foamie won't give the manoeuvrability that i want. So looking for something between 7-8 foot, where i can do some cut backs more easily.
    I'm 5'8'' , 65kg.

    Can you briefly explain what the “futures fin box” upgrade is and if it’s needed on the 8’ INT Classic for a beginner?

    Hi, this was very informative! I am 5 ft, 106 lbs. I'm a beginner and have been using an 8ft wavestorm but it feels very clunky. Do you think I could get away with the 7ft one?

      you're pretty small so it may work but ideally you want as much foam and volume as you can get. Wavestorms are pretty wide - my sister also close to your size complains about not being able to paddle on them. you might want to try out the olain 500 series from decatlon they have some inbetween sizes!

    Hey there! I'm 1.81m x 91kg (5'11" x 200lb), did 4/5 surf sessions and am already hooked to it (quite obvious coming from skate/snowboard)! I want to buy a beginner surfboard to start progressing solidly, what about a 6'8" 75L foamie or the same board but 8'6" 90L volume? Any other suggestions like a mini mal?

    I’m 5”1 and 200lbs, I’m working on losing weight. I have a short wing span so I’m nervous about a board that’s too wide and too long to maneuver well. I’d like to get the Costco one to save money. Would that be ok for me to learn on?

    Thank you! You said wave storm is best for 8”, but I don’t see any 9” from them. What brands do you recommend for a 9”?

    • @adventuresportu
      @adventuresportu  3 роки тому

      No problem! The 9FT INT is my favorite, 9FT Storm Blade is made by the same company as Wavestorm.

    The Costco surfboard was mentioned few times in different videos so I thought i check. I’m in Australia and holy crap it’s $339.99(approx U$295) here?! Is it still worth it paying that much?

    What do you think about the Rock It 7’ ShortBus Soft top surfboard for a beginner?My height is 5’ and I weight 100lbs

    • @adventuresportu

      Wavestorm 8 foot is still the best but that board will work if its what you have. I know wavestorms can be a bit wide and challenging to paddle for shorter persons.

    Hi I'm an average surfer, I weight 165.347 pounds and I bought a 8' with 80 L of volume at Decathlon. There were some contradictions on the technical information. I think that that board will be ok, what do you think?

    • @adventuresportu
      @adventuresportu  3 роки тому

      Keep in mind the recommendations are based on my experience as a surf instructor. An 8ft 80L board will work fine, although in my experience, a 9ft board makes it easier for people in your weight range to catch waves. Hope this helps!

    I'm 5'3, 120lbs and I am looking to get a used odysea catch surf board off Kijiji, but it is 5'11 in length, do you think that will be too difficult?

    • @adventuresportu
      @adventuresportu  3 роки тому

      yes i think 5'11 is too short for a beginner to feel stable. if the 8 ft - 9ft boards are too wide for you to paddle, maybe try a 7'8 or something a bit smaller, but definitely don't go down to 5'11

      Wavestorm is the most affordable Soft Top on the Market. Most of the other Soft Top brands charge 4 - 5x more. Good Luck!

    What about the width of the board?

    • @adventuresportu
      @adventuresportu  3 роки тому +1

      unfortunately softtops don't have much variety in their width. You buy a board based on length and they don't make different versions for different widths
