Hi Rene, love your work. I have downloaded the demo and for some currency pairs it doesn't execute in testing. E.g. USDJPY H1 - it does not execute any trades regardless of the duration. EURUSE, AUDJPY all work perfectly. I am uncertain about buying or renting not knowing if the issue is on my end and how to fix. Do you have any thoughts on why it could be?

rene. would you consider putting in a time of day filter so we can set up several good timeslots for the ea to trade. determined by backtesting it. another possibility is a higher timeframe check where the ea trades when both timeframes are moving in the same direction. also a news filter and an atr based stop loss please.

the trouble with fixed trailing stop is that it does not allow for variable volatility in the market - a variable stop of 1.5 x ATR(14) is a good rule of thumb in forex

Yes. If you put a lower value it will find more highs and lows and with a higher value it will find less.
Hi Rene, are you backtesting using 'Every Tick' or are you using 'Every tick based on real ticks', is this EA still using the lookbackcandles of 200 bars ? Thanks again, awesome EA

I usually try to use "every tick based on real ticks" for my important tests. The lookback candles are still 200 but I changed the algorithm so it only uses the latest high/low anyway.
Hi nice work. I think the live results are going to be different with higher slippage when using accounts.with more money and more volume. 200 euros is not significant for me

Hey, no I did not change the TP and SL a lot in the testing period. Also I can never recommend any settings because I am no trading guru and I cannot predict the future ;) Please do your own testing before you use any EA.
@@meditative8449 An EA will only run when the MT platform is open and the EA is active. My humble suggested workaround would be to schedule the MT platform to open and close down to accomplish this. Else manually open / close the MT platform until you have an AE that accommodates that.

No required but highly recommended! The MetaTrader has to run all the time to make the EA work. So you either run your own PC all the time or you rent a VPS. The VPS is usually more stable and I probably also cheaper in the long run :D

Hm meine Tests waren glaube für das letzte Jahr auch gut :O Aber das kommt auch immer sehr auf die Einstellungen, den Markt, die Marktphase und viele andere Sachen an. Da eine Antwort auf deine Frage zu finden ist nicht immer einfach ;)

I do not recommend any specific server. Just do not get some overpriced "trading" VPS. A normal windows VPS does the job ;) Maybe I will make a video about this in the future :)
Hey I am new to MQL5 seller community. I want to try the EA in demo for free but how long will I be able to keep it and what is the difference with the paid version ? Also on your mql5 profile the profit seems to all be in the last year but over 3 years there is not much increase in the backtest (if I understand well the 1rst usdjpy picture in th mql5 scalping project). Also there seems to be a DD of about 50% from 2020-03 ot 2020-08, that is scary and does not coincide with a reliable 8%/2weeks... Thanks for your comments and answers. I enjoy your video

I think you can use the demo as long as you want. But it can only be used in the strategy tester and not in a demo/live trading account. The paid version does not have this restriction. You should just try it in the tester (for free) and do some backtests. You can try out different settings. Different settings will produce different results :)

in the back test it showed basically sideways for 9 months or so. could there be another filter to help out with that? like an overall trend filter and only take trades in the direction of the trend? or does that defeat the point of a breakout? also a bit of a nitpick, but few people consider 1H as scalping. Scalping is commonly limited to 1-5m charts.

Hey, yeah filters are always something to try :) I think scalping is every strategy that enters and exits trades fast. In low timeframes the costs are often too high to be constantly profitable.
Hi, I am doing some testing on yours algorithm for presented scalping strategy. I came up with simple update, that is placing entries little below/above the high and lows (for example 20 points). Backtest for EURUSD from last year was 60% , were with initial entries on H/L was 50%. What do you think ?

It depends where you live/your personal situation. Also ic markets has different options. You could open an account with their overseas entity to trade with 1:500 leverage.

Phu that is hard to answer without seeing anything. Make sure you check the tester journal for possible (error)messages. Could have many reasons. Maybe the lotsize is not valid?

Hard to tell without knowing the EA/your settings.

If the SL is hit then the trade is closed.. Do not put the SL too close to the market price if you do not want it to get hit ;)
A broker that trades against you. This is how they steal your money. You must make time to observe the charts carefully for suspicious activity that causes you to lose money. Chances are you will catch your broker in the act. I have seen it happen on my charts. It happens very quickly so you must be alert. You can even put a live camera in front of your computer so it can record everything that happens on the chart. Alex Du Plooy made a video of how he caught his broker stealing $5000 from his account.
Hello, is there a setting that we can use in order to tell the EA not to close a trade within 5 seconds after opening a position? the prop firm i currently trade with does not allow opening and closing trades in 5 seconds or less.

Uff no :D There is no such setting and I am not sure if it would be beneficial for the strategy. Closing a trade really quick (because of the trailing stop) is pretty much the best possible outcome ;)
@@ehrxt I belive that should not be a problem, since the trade is been close by SL and not manually or by the bot it self, you should ask that directly to your propfirm

Reading text alerts is really hard. You can't do it with just the mql5 framework and you would have to use windows libraries for this i think. But if the indicator draws arrows (charts objects) in the chart you can read them. And this is really easy. You can use the ObjectGet functions for it ;)
@ I see the algo places two orders on highs and lows. Regarding updating the orders - did you do this for execution purposes? They were being updated on every tick, I assume you update them only if the stoploss threshold is reached?

For this strategy you do not need much leverage but it depends on your settings.. If you choose risky settings (big lotsizes) you will need a higher leverage. You can just test it in the strategy tester and you will see.

Been loving your channel, i created a similar range breakout strategy to yours and put it on a live account. The market went my way when USDJPY went crazy on Friday and it's up 20% (risk 2% per trade). With this scalping strategy do you always use the 1 hour chart?

Great to hear that! :) Yes I use this scalping strategy on the H1 chart only. I do not think you can trade it on lower timeframes because the trading costs will be just too high...

Can we select the days of the week to trade? I see a pattern in the backet tests but cannot see how I can restrict which day.

Video can be titled something like "how to program email alerts in your mql5 expert advisor" or something like that :)
I put it on my list. But it is really easy. You use the SendMail function.

Hello, is there a setting that we can use in order to tell the EA not to close a trade within 5 seconds after opening a position? the prop firm i currently trade with does not allow opening and closing trades in 5 seconds or less.
Uff no :D There is no such setting and I am not sure if it would be beneficial for the strategy. Closing a trade really quick (because of the trailing stop) is pretty much the best possible outcome ;)

@@ehrxt I belive that should not be a problem, since the trade is been close by SL and not manually or by the bot it self, you should ask that directly to your propfirm

Thanks for sharing this. I am happy to hear this. But always make sure you do not risk too much ;) trading results can be different in the future and also in a live account compared to a demo account.
@ Yes my risk percentage is 2.0 but sir on indices (US100)😂😂😂😂 from $200 to $6m it open order with 500 lotsize is crazy I don't why it doing it on US100 but I think 🤔 I won't put on Indices just Currencies pair

I have a trading bot of mt4, and I applied this bot on multiple pairs but it opens only one trade on any one pair at once, it will not open a trade on another pair if the condition is met to open a trade. Please help me to set this problem.

I use it on the 1H chart. You could use it on the 1M chart but the trading costs would make it unprofitable...
Hi, thanks for this great video. I have a question: how can I open trade based on indicator text alert that show up in journal tab or the signal arrow appearance? Since there is no data window for this custom indicator. Just showing signal Sell/Buy arrows and have an text alert show up in journal tab by print function. Reading text alerts is really hard. You can't do it with just the mql5 framework and you would have to use windows libraries for this i think. But if the indicator draws arrows (charts objects) in the chart you can read them. And this is really easy. You can use the ObjectGet functions for it ;)

How is this new version different from the original, in a few words?
I changed the signal algorithm. The new version uses more recent highs and lows. Also it updates the orders more frequently and only if necessary.
@ I see the algo places two orders on highs and lows. Regarding updating the orders - did you do this for execution purposes? They were being updated on every tick, I assume you update them only if the stoploss threshold is reached?

@@Naseer_ I don't know. I did not find good settings in the tester but you can download the free demo and do some tests on your own ;)
What leverage are you working with?
For this strategy you do not need much leverage but it depends on your settings.. If you choose risky settings (big lotsizes) you will need a higher leverage. You can just test it in the strategy tester and you will see.

Been loving your channel, i created a similar range breakout strategy to yours and put it on a live account. The market went my way when USDJPY went crazy on Friday and it's up 20% (risk 2% per trade). With this scalping strategy do you always use the 1 hour chart?
Great to hear that! :) Yes I use this scalping strategy on the H1 chart only. I do not think you can trade it on lower timeframes because the trading costs will be just too high...

I use indicators on Tradingview and Bybit to trade using a leverage of 5x. But don't leverage if you are not a trader.
