I think for the detailed officially licensed body and a one of a kind custom programed 6 channel radio with custom switches and layout, the price is justified. I saw somewhere that they have 3D print files to fill the gap if you want to chop the top off and make it a convertible. The Hexfly servos are a little noisy, but a hydraulic pump isn't exactly quiet and they looked like they worked smoothly. For me I want this to do well and gain a lot of popularity because it does open up a lot of possibilities for other scale vehicles. Get the CEN F450 dually, tweak the suspension and use the lowrider's radio and you could have a slammed tow rig with simulated hydraulic suspension. If the Redcat lowrider and the CEN dually do well, we might see more scale vehicles coming from other companies and that is good for everyone.

Thanks for the review. $600 seems a bit pricey though. It does look like fun. Congrats. Try “Blue Magic” plexiglass/plastic polish and protectant to keep the body looking good. The polish is usually used for plastic automobile headlight lenses. Works great on audio and video discs as well.
I just learned about this scale model and found there are quite a few new accessories that have been released (chain steering wheel, car cover, wheel knock offs). The model comes ready for an optional LED light kit and Redcat also offers 3D printer files for more accessories like bumper protectors, visors, club plaque, bumperettes, rear view mirror, steering toe mod, drop top cover, etc. Yes, a drop top cover/boot. Apparently you can chop the roof portion off making it a convertible. Redcat also offers the body by itself unpainted, all the chrome parts, interior tray or everything as a complete body package. A lot of thought definitely went into this model! $600 seemed like a lot, but it's really not with what you're getting. Jevries has long sold out on the limited edition variant with candy panels, but has announced development of some new wheels that he hopes to release soon and offers videos on how to modify and customize the model further. One in particular I watched shows how to lower the body and suspension (the shocks are not oil filled as suggested) so it looks like it's laying frame. Really cool!

Pricey, yup! But the only RTR lowrider choice out there & is it cool? Yup! I'm betting Red Cat will bring out more bodies for this. Good review! I dig the enthusiasm 😜
Being that I make my own lexan body panels instead of carving wood or getting high on that plastic glue.... that is actually the only way to make lexan or PTEG look good, you have to use multuple pieces. Basically there is issues with trying to vacuuform lexan in a shape where the body panels curve inwards at the lower skirting, due to the need to remove the mold, and lexan becoming wrinkled. So the only way is make multiple pieces and piece them together, preferably with small joint pieces and L-brackets. You have to essentially make pieces like a real automotive body if you want it to look good, scale, and not have the bottom curved out. The only body I've seen that is done well in that single piece manner is the Traxxas TRX4 Bronco and Blazer. The rest of them always have ussues especially if you make them at home in an oven and a shop vac. You also tend to stretch the lexan rather thin in certain places as you reverse the drooping curve of melted lexan, as you place it over your mold in a hurry to drop it all the way down to get suction and seal the seam of the template. Its hars to describe in the comment section, but if you watch a few videos of vacuuforming lexan bodies you can get a good idea.
At $600, it is a little expensive. I still think it's really cool though! It would really look good on my xtraspeed trailer, and with the suspension raised you could drive it on and off!
Imagine being outside in the neighborhood playing with your rc and then you spot some observers so you hit the switches on em .. lol they would trip so hard on seeing that . It would have just as much impact if not more than if it was a real car with hydraulics .. lol cheers

They obviously have to make money on it to make all the work and years testing worth there while and who else do you see taking this leap into the RC world like this. It’s awesome to see something different come along.
This is SO cool!
And $599 isn’t a bad price at ALL for what you get! I assumed at leased $800 tbh!
I just seen how your bumper broke when you pulled it out 😢
Definitely will be bringing this to my next car meet
Love the scale garage workbench dude, it took me a minute to work out wtf was going on lol. Not sure about the popularity of low riders in Australia though.
FYI that radio is essentially a Flysky FSi6X with a different face/cover on it. Good radio but its not an original Redcat unit.
I grew up in the low rider scene so I definitely want this 64 lowrider RC cars 👍🏻🔥🤘🏻
Idea... rig some flint on rear bumper get some sparks going on
Jevries already set his up with some. True 13” wires, fixed the toe-in issue and added engine start up sound 😎
Excelente unboxing y testeo de este Redcat 64 Impala RC Hopping Lowrider, esta muy impresionante con el sistema de bajar y subir el coche, mis respetos y saludos desde Venezuela.
I'd love to see a chassis somewhat like this done for racing, so you can have a solid axle rear on a Vintage Trans Am car
I completely agree. A scale road car platform
Dude theres so much room for a scale interior
Someone better make ice cube’s green impala convertible from today was a good day
Iconic ...green flake
Great review.....really got my mind racing. ....but it's still awesome. ....plus I use to have one in high school. ..I gotta add to my collection. ..great vid
DID YOU EVER OWN A LOW RIDER IN THE PAST, CAUSE YOUR REALLY GOOD WITH THIS CONTROL 😄👍
My dad did
Pricey, yup! But the only RTR lowrider choice out there & is it cool? Yup! I'm betting Red Cat will bring out more bodies for this. Good review! I dig the enthusiasm 😜
Wow, I love your workbench er...garage!
I bought a red cat backdraft 8e years ago, and it still works great, Redcat are fairly decent
Look amazing with CEN's dually towing the 64 on a aluminum built trailer.
Tamiya grand hauler with a flatbed
At $600, it is a little expensive. I still think it's really cool though! It would really look good on my xtraspeed trailer, and with the suspension raised you could drive it on and off!
I can't wait to see what hop ups come out. Hopefully different wheels fit.
Imagine being outside in the neighborhood playing with your rc and then you spot some observers so you hit the switches on em .. lol they would trip so hard on seeing that . It would have just as much impact if not more than if it was a real car with hydraulics .. lol cheers
Saturday night ... see you along Crenshaws .. unboxing some . 😄
i think the servos are ment to sound like the real hydrolics
Add a counter weight on the back so it stands up. 😎
That scale garage is awesome! Rc hobby is one of the best hobbies to get into. Also costly.
Really, really cool! Definitely a neat suspension design!
Need a castle bec and run 7.4v directly to the servo to increase speed and torque for hopping
I received mine today an one side of the front bumper was crack too 😰🤦🏻a few other parts where loosen !!
Any luck contacting RedCat? I plan on buying one when the next pre-order opens up.
@@GFK602 yea I did they took care of me quickly I should be getting my bumper Tuesday I also purchase the light kit !!! I think on my case my next step be getting a clear kit to make a custom one an just change the cover to the chassis I think that’s a better option!!
Fantastic video! Can’t wait to see what you do to this
I just bought purple. However, I am trying to find the gray strips instead of the more crazy stickers. Does your car happen to have the part number for those. I was told that just the CLASSIC came with those stickers?
Redcat should wrap the front and rear bumper's with stretch wrap. When you pulled the car out from the foam . that's when the bumper broke.
Very nice little lower rider remains me my younger years 1982
A drop top version of this with a working power top & Bluetooth speakers would be badass
Great Vid! Great mini garage! Great purchase!
I'm representing for them gangstas all across the world
Still hitting them corners in them lo-lo's, girl
(Still taking my time to perfect the beat
And I still got love for the streets, it's the D-R-E)
For the price they should have added led headlights and tail lights. And brushless 380 motor. It’s around $599.00. Iam surprise at RedCat
really surprised at that 320 can motor, time to look for a brushless motor that size, i plan to get one of these and make it brushless so i can both go slow and hop around and when i want, do a little speeding with it aswell
I was looking at one. But bought a 4 wheel drive gas truck instead. But maybe next.
