I buy playtex gloves for dishes but they don't last. When I wash dishes with sharp edges such as blades to my blender and food processor they easily puncture. I'll have no other choice than to remove the gloves when washing sharp objects. I really appreciate your videos! I used to work for a cleaning business and got positive feedback often, which was very motivating! I loved that since I always tried doing my best. After watching you I considered starting my own cleaning business but with my chronic health problems it would be difficult to have enough energy to be able to run a cleaning business. Hopefully someday I can regain my health bc cleaning is something I do enjoy 😊 Thank you so much Angela!😊❤
I Love these updates. Thanks so much for sharing and you're right the gloves can get punctured. Lots of house cleaners use them when washing client's dishes but they don't use them when washing their own for the very reasons you mentioned. Hey, I'm sorry to hear about your health issues. That's horrible, and I hope you feel better soon. Sending you a big virtual hug. 🤗
I was researching which type of glove to buy to clean regularly clean my home and your channel came up. I was glad I did😊...learned a lot about which type of gloves to use for different situations that you do around your home. Thank you🙋🏾♀️
Thanks for watching. For general cleaning I use Nitrile powder free disposable gloves, and I use the Gardena polyester dipped in nitrile almost every day for tougher jobs, outdoor projects, and move-in move out cleans where you're moving stuff, boxes, appliances, lamps etc. Great grip and durable.
Angela, thank-you for this video. I work at a factory and use gloves regularly, to handle chemicals/oils, handling pieces that are sensitive to skin oils and cleaning, I have used all 3 types of gloves and prefer the latex or nitrile. I also use gloves at home for cleaning(mainly in the bathroom), gardening my hands dry out and in the kitchen to handle raw meat(I don't necessarily like handling it bare handed) to cutting hot peppers. Amercare is a good brand and so is Ansell and Microflex.
Great video, very informative. One way I use cotton gloves is as liners when I'm wearing rubber or latex gloves for an extended period of time. I actually have a long pair of cotton gloves (like Prom gloves!) that I'll put on before putting my playtex gloves on and doing chores. My hands feel instantly more comfortable this way.
Thanks for your help! Just replaced playtex gloves with yslon long gloves I found on Amazon. Not an affiliate, just trying to give back. Fingers don’t tear, they stay up in a deep sink, easy to don & doff quickly.
Don't forget: Glove use is NOT a substitute for proper hand hygiene. You still need to use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or wash your hands with soap and water after using gloves.
Well thank you captain obvious 🤣 That's like saying you have to use only toilet paper to wipe your butt. Alot of people don't wash there hands anymore.
@@debmee1285 You would think- but paradoxically the most obvious is, at times, the most overlooked. Americans are not hand hygene compliant as the general rule, even though, as you correctly pointed out, First generation Muslims do not use toliet paper.
Playtex gloves are my favorite♥️- I like that I can use the different colors as code like punk for kitchen & red for bathroom. I'll have to look for the silicone with the scrubbies. TFS. This is a great class Professor Angela🙌
Angela, thank you for the informative video. I always use gloves when cleaning, I use the long playtex/dish gloves for heavy duty cleaning such as cleaning showers. The thinner exam type for everything else(including cooking) I get the long cuff and wear prom gloves under.
I was just doing a quicksearch for a good brand for my bathroom. now im watching this making me know more about different gloves haha. thanks for the knowledge..
I use nitrile gloves doing messy food prep, especially ground beef, and cleaning the bathroom, the Gardena-type when pulling weeds and assembling my artificial Christmas tree, leather ones when pruning rose bushes. My husband is the dishwasher & he uses Playtex gloves, and leather ones when working outside.
It depends on the gloves. Wearing gloves your hands may sweat, but the goal is to not let water get inside the gloves. (Disposable latex/nitrile gloves: It won't hurt your hands any - they will just look all prune like and wrinkly when you take the gloves off. But wet gloves tend to break down the material and may split easier. Gardenia Gloves dipped in nitrile: These are polyester on one side and can get wet. We use them often when doing projects out in the rain. Leather gloves: don't get wet inside or outside it will make the gloves stinky.
According to the OCedar website, after use wash the outside of the gloves with soap and water and hang to dry. ocedar.com/p/gloves/reusable-gloves/playtex-living-gloves/ I hope this helps : )
Nitrile gloves are a good choice for deep cleaning as they offer protection against chemicals, punctures, and tears while maintaining sensitivity. They come in various sizes and should be chosen based on the cleaning solution used. It's essential to change gloves frequently to prevent bacteria or chemical spread.
With latex gloves you need to be aware that some people are allergic to latex so if you are a buisness owner have employees it needs to be taken under consideration. Great video and very informative. Thank you.
Yes, my personal preference is nitrile gloves for indoor cleaning. For tough jobs, attics, garages, moving, etc, I use the Gardena gloves (polyester dipped in nitrile). Those are the two I use the most.
Once I cleaned 7 hours in dishwasher gloves, after this my hands looks horrible. Now I'm using it only cleaning bathrooms and kitchens. I should to try others gloves.
The dishwashing gloves (the big Playtex rubber ones) do make your hands go pruney). For general all purpose cleaning I use the nitrile gloves. They are lightweight and protect the hands nicely.
Hi Angela, I am new to your channel and love what I am learning from you. Where do you buy your cleaning products and tools from? where do you recommend to shop all my stuff in La?
Most of the stuff we recommend can be found on our online store: amazon.com/shop/angelabrown. I try to keep it updated as products either become unavailable or as I find new and cool things I swear by. Thanks for asking, and thank you for your kind words. 🙏
Medical way of doffing: the second ungloved hand's fingers go /under/ the glove on the underside of the wrist, pulling it off from the /inside/ so you're not touching the outside of the gloves at all
What are the best gloves to use for a client that has AIDS? I've been using nitrile. I tried using the vinyl but they break and rip so easily and I don't want to get the germs on my hands. Also, when I'm using the nitrile I notice my hands get very sweaty after a while and once I remove them my nails get very brittle and weak. any tips?
I always get water under my gloves when cleaning so then they become useless (especially when cleaning showers). Am I doing something wrong or do I need a different type of product? Thanks for your help!
Interesting dilemma. Are you soaking your hands in water? It's rare that water gets inside gloves. I typically wear nitrile gloves when cleaning showers so the gloves hug my wrists - eliminating the water that might enter. I'm trying to think of how this might happen and how to fix the problem.
Stephen, Check out my Amazon store (paid link) www.amazon.com/shop/angelabrown/list/UFYFJWQOYOT2?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d You’ll find gloves and other personal protective equipment. 👍
The nitrile gloves do not fall apart you must be mistaking them for latex, and vinyl gloves are not used during crime scene clean up they aren’t used for medical purposes anymore nitrile does it all now just letting you know, have a good day.

It's true, for that reason, we primarily stock nitrile gloves, it's easier than buying different types, and we can buy in bulk.
