He is an Armenian by nationality, a very famous and brilliant singer and a patriot. Thank you for your reaction

In fact, it's a bit more complexe than that... he's born and remained Armenian but he became French too... The question has been done to him numerous time and he almost answered he was both Armenian in French... In Fact, there are only few nationalities you can chose to take at 100 % like considering being French when you're not born French. I am French, but my grandfather was basque from Spain, obliged to flee and run away from Spain during the civil war there, loosing his parents and all his siblings (they were 8), executed by franquists and italian fascists... My grandfather which didn't speak french at all and learnt Occitan language (he was farmer in Limousin region, at those time, the French language was only second to occitan in countryside in this area)... His knowledge of french language was then very poor... BUT he was feeling French at 100%, and was very grateful for the France of the pre-WWII and after too. Some says, being French is a "Spirit-state". he hadn't chose to be Armenian, his parents were Armenians and he was born in Armenia, but he chose to be French... then both nationalities had some importance for him.
